יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh הִ֥יא is hî מָֽעֻזְּכֶֽם׃ your strength . ” mā·‘uz·zə·ḵem Nehemiah 8:11 וְהַלְוִיִּ֞ם And the Levites wə·hal·wî·yim מַחְשִׁ֤ים calmed maḥ·šîm לְכָל־ all lə·ḵāl הָעָם֙ the people , hā·‘ām לֵאמֹ֣ר saying , lê·mōr הַ֔סּוּ “ Be still , has·sū כִּ֥י since kî הַיּ֖וֹם today hay·yō·wm קָדֹ֑שׁ is holy . qā·ḏōš וְאַל־ Do not wə·’al- תֵּעָצֵֽבוּ׃ grieve . ” tê·‘ā·ṣê·ḇū Nehemiah 8:12 וַיֵּלְכ֨וּ - way·yê·lə·ḵū כָל־ Then all ḵāl הָעָ֜ם the people hā·‘ām לֶאֱכֹ֤ל began to eat le·’ĕ·ḵōl וְלִשְׁתּוֹת֙ and drink , wə·liš·tō·wṯ וּלְשַׁלַּ֣ח to send out ū·lə·šal·laḥ מָנ֔וֹת portions , mā·nō·wṯ וְלַעֲשׂ֖וֹת and wə·la·‘ă·śō·wṯ שִׂמְחָ֣ה to rejoice śim·ḥāh גְדוֹלָ֑ה greatly , ḡə·ḏō·w·lāh כִּ֤י because kî הֵבִ֙ינוּ֙ they understood hê·ḇî·nū בַּדְּבָרִ֔ים the words bad·də·ḇā·rîm אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer הוֹדִ֖יעוּ had been made known hō·w·ḏî·‘ū לָהֶֽם׃ס to them . lā·hem Nehemiah 8:13 הַשֵּׁנִ֡י On the second haš·šê·nî וּבַיּ֣וֹם day [of the month] , ū·ḇay·yō·wm רָאשֵׁ֨י the heads rā·šê לְכָל־ of all lə·ḵāl הָאָב֜וֹת the families hā·’ā·ḇō·wṯ הָעָ֗ם . . . , hā·‘ām הַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ along with the priests hak·kō·hă·nîm וְהַלְוִיִּ֔ם and Levites , wə·hal·wî·yim נֶאֶסְפוּ֩ gathered ne·’es·p̄ū אֶל־ around ’el- עֶזְרָ֖א Ezra ‘ez·rā הַסֹּפֵ֑ר the scribe has·sō·p̄êr וּלְהַשְׂכִּ֖יל to study ū·lə·haś·kîl אֶל־ . . . ’el- דִּבְרֵ֥י the words diḇ·rê הַתּוֹרָֽה׃ of the Law . hat·tō·w·rāh Nehemiah 8:14 וַֽיִּמְצְא֖וּ And they found way·yim·ṣə·’ū כָּת֣וּב written kā·ṯūḇ בַּתּוֹרָ֑ה in the Law , bat·tō·w·rāh אֲשֶׁ֨ר which ’ă·šer יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh צִוָּ֤ה had commanded ṣiw·wāh בְּיַד־ through bə·yaḏ- מֹשֶׁ֔ה Moses , mō·šeh אֲשֶׁר֩ that ’ă·šer בְנֵֽי־ the Israelites ḇə·nê- יִשְׂרָאֵ֧ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl יֵשְׁב֨וּ were to dwell yê·šə·ḇū בַּסֻּכּ֛וֹת in booths bas·suk·kō·wṯ בֶּחָ֖ג during the feast be·ḥāḡ הַשְּׁבִיעִֽי׃ of the seventh haš·šə·ḇî·‘î בַּחֹ֥דֶשׁ month . ba·ḥō·ḏeš Nehemiah 8:15 וַאֲשֶׁ֣ר vvv wa·’ă·šer יַשְׁמִ֗יעוּ So they proclaimed yaš·mî·‘ū ק֥וֹל this message qō·wl וְיַעֲבִ֨ירוּ and spread [it] wə·ya·‘ă·ḇî·rū בְּכָל־ throughout bə·ḵāl עָרֵיהֶם֮ their towns ‘ā·rê·hem וּבִירוּשָׁלִַ֣ם and in Jerusalem , ū·ḇî·rū·šā·lim לֵאמֹר֒ saying , lê·mōr צְא֣וּ “ Go out ṣə·’ū הָהָ֗ר to the hill country hā·hār וְהָבִ֙יאוּ֙ and bring back wə·hā·ḇî·’ū עֲלֵי־ branches ‘ă·lê- זַ֙יִת֙ of olive , za·yiṯ וַעֲלֵי־ . . . wa·‘ă·lê- עֵ֣ץ ‘êṣ שֶׁ֔מֶן wild olive , še·men וַעֲלֵ֤י . . . wa·‘ă·lê הֲדַס֙ myrtle , hă·ḏas וַעֲלֵ֣י . . . wa·‘ă·lê תְמָרִ֔ים palm , ṯə·mā·rîm וַעֲלֵ֖י . . . wa·‘ă·lê עָבֹ֑ת and [other] leafy ‘ā·ḇōṯ עֵ֣ץ trees , ‘êṣ
