תִּמְכְּר֥וּ are selling tim·kə·rū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֲחֵיכֶ֖ם your own brothers , ’ă·ḥê·ḵem וְנִמְכְּרוּ־ that they may be sold back wə·nim·kə·rū- לָ֑נוּ to us ! ” lā·nū וַֽיַּחֲרִ֔ישׁוּ But they remained silent , way·ya·ḥă·rî·šū מָצְא֖וּ for they could find mā·ṣə·’ū וְלֹ֥א nothing wə·lō דָּבָֽר׃ס to say . dā·ḇār Nehemiah 5:9 וַיֹּאמֶר So I continued , way·yō·mɛr אֲשֶׁר־ “ What ’ă·šer- אַתֶּ֣ם you ’at·tem עֹשִׂ֑ים are doing ‘ō·śîm לֹא־ is not lō- ט֥וֹב right . ṭō·wḇ הַדָּבָ֖ר . . . had·dā·ḇār הֲל֞וֹא Shouldn’t hă·lō·w תֵּלֵ֔כוּ you walk tê·lê·ḵū בְּיִרְאַ֤ת in the fear bə·yir·’aṯ אֱלֹהֵ֙ינוּ֙ of our God ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū מֵחֶרְפַּ֖ת to avoid the reproach mê·ḥer·paṯ הַגּוֹיִ֥ם of our foreign hag·gō·w·yim אוֹיְבֵֽינוּ׃ enemies ? ’ō·wy·ḇê·nū Nehemiah 5:10 אֲנִי֙ I , ’ă·nî וְגַם־ as well as wə·ḡam- אַחַ֣י my brothers ’a·ḥay וּנְעָרַ֔י and my servants , ū·nə·‘ā·ray נֹשִׁ֥ים have been lending nō·šîm בָּהֶ֖ם [the people] bā·hem כֶּ֣סֶף money ke·sep̄ וְדָגָ֑ן and grain . wə·ḏā·ḡān נָּ֖א Please , nā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- נַֽעַזְבָה־ let us stop na·‘az·ḇāh- הַזֶּֽה׃ this haz·zeh הַמַּשָּׁ֥א usury . ham·maš·šā Nehemiah 5:11 נָ֨א Please nā הָשִׁיבוּ֩ restore hā·šî·ḇū לָהֶ֜ם to them lā·hem כְּהַיּ֗וֹם immediately kə·hay·yō·wm שְׂדֹתֵיהֶ֛ם their fields , śə·ḏō·ṯê·hem כַּרְמֵיהֶ֥ם vineyards , kar·mê·hem זֵיתֵיהֶ֖ם olive groves , zê·ṯê·hem וּבָתֵּיהֶ֑ם and houses , ū·ḇāt·tê·hem וּמְאַ֨ת along with the percentage ū·mə·’aṯ הַכֶּ֤סֶף of the money , hak·ke·sep̄ וְהַדָּגָן֙ grain , wə·had·dā·ḡān הַתִּיר֣וֹשׁ new wine , hat·tî·rō·wōš וְהַיִּצְהָ֔ר and oil wə·hay·yiṣ·hār אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer אַתֶּ֖ם you ’at·tem נֹשִׁ֥ים have been assessing nō·šîm בָּהֶֽם׃ them . ” bā·hem Nehemiah 5:12 נָשִׁ֗יב “ We will restore [it] , ” nā·šîḇ וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ they replied , way·yō·mə·rū נְבַקֵּ֔שׁ “ and will require nə·ḇaq·qêš כֵּ֣ן . . . kên לֹ֣א nothing lō וּמֵהֶם֙ more from them . ū·mê·hem נַעֲשֶׂ֔ה We will do na·‘ă·śeh כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר as ka·’ă·šer אַתָּ֣ה you ’at·tāh אוֹמֵ֑ר say . ” ’ō·w·mêr וָאֶקְרָא֙ So I summoned wā·’eq·rā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים the priests hak·kō·hă·nîm וָֽאַשְׁבִּיעֵ֔ם and required [of the nobles and officials] an oath that they wā·’aš·bî·‘êm לַעֲשׂ֖וֹת would do la·‘ă·śō·wṯ כַּדָּבָ֥ר what they had promised kad·dā·ḇār הַזֶּֽה׃ . . . . haz·zeh Nehemiah 5:13 גַּם־ I also gam- נָעַ֗רְתִּי shook out nā·‘ar·tî חָצְנִ֣י the folds of my robe ḥā·ṣə·nî וָֽאֹמְרָ֡ה and said , wā·’ō·mə·rāh הָֽאֱלֹהִ֟ים “ May God hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כָּ֣כָה likewise kā·ḵāh יְנַעֵ֪ר shake yə·na·‘êr מִבֵּיתוֹ֙ out of His house mib·bê·ṯōw וּמִ֣יגִיע֔וֹ and possession ū·mî·ḡî·‘ōw וְכָ֛כָה . . . wə·ḵā·ḵāh כָּל־ every kāl- הָאִישׁ֩ man hā·’îš אֲשֶׁ֨ר who ’ă·šer לֹֽא־ does not lō-
