לְרוֹמֵ֞ם to rebuild lə·rō·w·mêm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בֵּ֤ית the house bêṯ אֱלֹהֵ֙ינוּ֙ of our God ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū וּלְהַעֲמִ֣יד and repair ū·lə·ha·‘ă·mîḏ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- חָרְבֹתָ֔יו its ruins , ḥā·rə·ḇō·ṯāw וְלָֽתֶת־ and giving wə·lā·ṯeṯ- לָ֣נוּ us lā·nū גָדֵ֔ר a wall of protection ḡā·ḏêr בִּֽיהוּדָ֖ה in Judah bî·hū·ḏāh וּבִירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ס and Jerusalem . ū·ḇî·rū·šā·lim Ezra 9:10 וְעַתָּ֛ה And now , wə·‘at·tāh אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ our God , ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū מַה־ what mah- נֹּאמַ֥ר can we say nō·mar אַֽחֲרֵי־ after ’a·ḥă·rê- זֹ֑את this ? zōṯ כִּ֥י For kî עָזַ֖בְנוּ we have forsaken ‘ā·zaḇ·nū מִצְוֺתֶֽיךָ׃ the commandments miṣ·wō·ṯe·ḵā Ezra 9:11 אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer צִוִּ֗יתָ You gave ṣiw·wî·ṯā בְּיַ֨ד through bə·yaḏ עֲבָדֶ֣יךָ Your servants ‘ă·ḇā·ḏe·ḵā הַנְּבִיאִים֮ the prophets , han·nə·ḇî·’îm לֵאמֹר֒ saying : lê·mōr הָאָ֗רֶץ ‘ The land hā·’ā·reṣ אֲשֶׁ֨ר that ’ă·šer אַתֶּ֤ם you ’at·tem בָּאִים֙ are entering bā·’îm לְרִשְׁתָּ֔הּ to possess lə·riš·tāh הִ֔יא is hî אֶ֤רֶץ a land ’e·reṣ נִדָּה֙ polluted nid·dāh בְּנִדַּ֖ת by the impurity bə·nid·daṯ עַמֵּ֣י of its peoples ‘am·mê הָאֲרָצ֑וֹת . . . hā·’ă·rā·ṣō·wṯ בְּתוֹעֲבֹֽתֵיהֶ֗ם and the abominations bə·ṯō·w·‘ă·ḇō·ṯê·hem אֲשֶׁ֥ר with which ’ă·šer מִלְא֛וּהָ they have filled it mil·’ū·hā מִפֶּ֥ה from end mip·peh אֶל־ to ’el- פֶּ֖ה end peh בְּטֻמְאָתָֽם׃ - . bə·ṭum·’ā·ṯām Ezra 9:12 וְ֠עַתָּה Now, therefore , wə·‘at·tāh אַל־ do not ’al- תִּתְּנ֣וּ give tit·tə·nū בְּֽנוֹתֵיכֶ֞ם your daughters {in marriage} bə·nō·w·ṯê·ḵem לִבְנֵיהֶ֗ם to their sons liḇ·nê·hem תִּשְׂא֣וּ or take tiś·’ū וּבְנֹֽתֵיהֶם֙ their daughters ū·ḇə·nō·ṯê·hem אַל־ . . . ’al- לִבְנֵיכֶ֔ם for your sons . liḇ·nê·ḵem וְלֹֽא־ Never wə·lō- עַד־ . . . ‘aḏ- עוֹלָ֑ם . . . ‘ō·w·lām תִדְרְשׁ֧וּ seek ṯiḏ·rə·šū שְׁלֹמָ֛ם their peace šə·lō·mām וְטוֹבָתָ֖ם or prosperity , wə·ṭō·w·ḇā·ṯām לְמַ֣עַן so that lə·ma·‘an תֶּחֶזְק֗וּ you may be strong te·ḥez·qū וַאֲכַלְתֶּם֙ and may eat wa·’ă·ḵal·tem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- ט֣וּב the good things ṭūḇ הָאָ֔רֶץ of the land , hā·’ā·reṣ וְהוֹרַשְׁתֶּ֥ם leaving it as an inheritance wə·hō·w·raš·tem לִבְנֵיכֶ֖ם to your sons liḇ·nê·ḵem עַד־ forever ‘aḏ- עוֹלָֽם׃ . . . . ’ ‘ō·w·lām Ezra 9:13 וְאַֽחֲרֵי֙ After wə·’a·ḥă·rê כָּל־ all kāl- הַבָּ֣א that has come hab·bā עָלֵ֔ינוּ upon us ‘ā·lê·nū הָרָעִ֔ים because of our evil hā·rā·‘îm בְּמַעֲשֵׂ֙ינוּ֙ deeds bə·ma·‘ă·śê·nū הַגְּדֹלָ֑ה and our great hag·gə·ḏō·lāh וּבְאַשְׁמָתֵ֖נוּ guilt ū·ḇə·’aš·mā·ṯê·nū כִּ֣י׀ ( though kî אַתָּ֣ה You , ’at·tāh אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ our God , ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū חָשַׂ֤כְתָּֽ have punished us ḥā·śaḵ·tā לְמַ֙טָּה֙ less lə·maṭ·ṭāh מֵֽעֲוֺנֵ֔נוּ than our iniquities [deserve] mê·‘ă·wō·nê·nū וְנָתַ֥תָּה and have given wə·nā·ṯat·tāh לָּ֛נוּ us lā·nū פְּלֵיטָ֖ה [such] a remnant pə·lê·ṭāh כָּזֹֽאת׃ as this ) , kā·zōṯ
