Ezra 5:2 בֵּאדַ֡יִן Then bê·ḏa·yin זְרֻבָּבֶ֤ל Zerubbabel zə·rub·bā·ḇel בַּר־ son bar- שְׁאַלְתִּיאֵל֙ of Shealtiel šə·’al·tî·’êl וְיֵשׁ֣וּעַ and Jeshua wə·yê·šū·a‘ בַּר־ son bar- יֽוֹצָדָ֔ק of Jozadak yō·w·ṣā·ḏāq קָ֠מוּ rose up qā·mū וְשָׁרִ֣יו and began wə·šā·rîw לְמִבְנֵ֔א to rebuild lə·miḇ·nê בֵּ֥ית the house bêṯ אֱלָהָ֖א of God ’ĕ·lā·hā בִירֽוּשְׁלֶ֑ם in Jerusalem . ḇî·rū·šə·lem נְבִיאַיָּא And the prophets nə·ḇī·ʾay·yå̄ דִֽי־ . . . ḏî- דִּ֣י of dî אֱלָהָ֖א God ’ĕ·lā·hā וְעִמְּה֛וֹן were with them , wə·‘im·mə·hō·wn מְסָעֲדִ֥ין helping mə·sā·‘ă·ḏîn לְהֽוֹן׃פ them . lə·hō·wn Ezra 5:3 בֵּהּ־ bêh- זִמְנָא֩ At that time zim·nā תַּ֠תְּנַי Tattenai tat·tə·nay פַּחַ֧ת the governor pa·ḥaṯ עֲבַֽר־ [of the region] west ‘ă·ḇar- נַהֲרָ֛ה of the Euphrates , na·hă·rāh וּשְׁתַ֥ר vvv ū·šə·ṯar בּוֹזְנַ֖י Shethar-bozenai , bō·wz·nay וּכְנָוָתְה֑וֹן and their associates ū·ḵə·nā·wā·ṯə·hō·wn וְכֵן֙ . . . wə·ḵên אֲתָ֨א went ’ă·ṯā עֲלֵיה֜וֹן to [the Jews] ‘ă·lê·hō·wn אָמְרִ֣ין and asked ’ā·mə·rîn לְהֹ֔ם , lə·hōm מַן־ “ Who man- שָׂ֨ם authorized you śām לְכֹ֜ם lə·ḵōm טְעֵ֗ם - ṭə·‘êm לִבְּנֵ֔א to rebuild lib·bə·nê דְנָה֙ this ḏə·nāh בַּיְתָ֤א temple bay·ṯā לְשַׁכְלָלָֽה׃ס and restore lə·šaḵ·lā·lāh דְנָ֖ה this ḏə·nāh וְאֻשַּׁרְנָ֥א structure ? ” wə·’uš·šar·nā Ezra 5:4 אֱדַ֥יִן They also ’ĕ·ḏa·yin כְּנֵ֖מָא . . . kə·nê·mā אֲמַ֣רְנָא asked ’ă·mar·nā לְּהֹ֑ם , lə·hōm מַן־ “ What man- אִנּוּן֙ are ’in·nūn שְׁמָהָ֣ת the names šə·mā·hāṯ גֻּבְרַיָּ֔א of the men guḇ·ray·yā דִּֽי־ who dî- בָּנַֽיִן׃ are constructing bā·na·yin דְנָ֥ה this ḏə·nāh בִנְיָנָ֖א building ? ” ḇin·yā·nā Ezra 5:5 וְעֵ֣ין But the eye wə·‘ên אֱלָהֲהֹ֗ם of their God ’ĕ·lā·hă·hōm הֲוָת֙ was hă·wāṯ עַל־ on ‘al- שָׂבֵ֣י the elders śā·ḇê יְהוּדָיֵ֔א of the Jews , yə·hū·ḏā·yê וְלָא־ so that they were not wə·lā- בַטִּ֣לוּ stopped ḇaṭ·ṭi·lū הִמּ֔וֹ - him·mōw עַד־ until ‘aḏ- טַעְמָ֖א a report ṭa‘·mā יְהָ֑ךְ was sent yə·hāḵ לְדָרְיָ֣וֶשׁ to Darius lə·ḏā·rə·yā·weš וֶאֱדַ֛יִן and we·’ĕ·ḏa·yin נִשְׁתְּוָנָ֖א written instructions niš·tə·wā·nā עַל־ about ‘al- דְּנָֽה׃פ this matter də·nāh יְתִיב֥וּן were returned . yə·ṯî·ḇūn Ezra 5:6 פַּרְשֶׁ֣גֶן This is the text par·še·ḡen אִ֠גַּרְתָּא of the letter ’ig·gar·tā דִּֽי־ that dî- תַּתְּנַ֣י׀ Tattenai tat·tə·nay פַּחַ֣ת the governor pa·ḥaṯ עֲבַֽר־ of the region west ‘ă·ḇar- נַהֲרָ֗ה of the Euphrates , na·hă·rāh וּשְׁתַ֤ר vvv ū·šə·ṯar בּוֹזְנַי֙ Shethar-bozenai , bō·wz·nay וּכְנָ֣וָתֵ֔הּ and their associates , ū·ḵə·nā·wā·ṯêh אֲפַ֨רְסְכָיֵ֔א the officials ’ă·p̄ar·sə·ḵā·yê דִּ֖י . . . dî בַּעֲבַ֣ר in the region , ba·‘ă·ḇar
