וַיַּעֲמֹ֣ד joined way·ya·‘ă·mōḏ כְּאֶחָ֔ד together kə·’e·ḥāḏ לְנַצֵּ֛חַ to supervise lə·naṣ·ṣê·aḥ עַל־ . . . ‘al- עֹשֵׂ֥ה those working ‘ō·śêh הַמְּלָאכָ֖ה . . . ham·mə·lā·ḵāh בְּבֵ֣ית on the house bə·ḇêṯ הָאֱלֹהִ֑יםס of God . hå̄·ʾɛ̆·lō·hī·ms Ezra 3:10 הַבֹּנִ֖ים When the builders hab·bō·nîm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וְיִסְּד֥וּ had laid the foundation wə·yis·sə·ḏū הֵיכַ֣ל of the temple hê·ḵal יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH , Yah·weh הַכֹּהֲנִ֨ים the priests hak·kō·hă·nîm מְלֻבָּשִׁ֜ים in their apparel mə·lub·bā·šîm בַּחֲצֹֽצְר֗וֹת with trumpets , ba·ḥă·ṣō·ṣə·rō·wṯ וְהַלְוִיִּ֤ם and the Levites wə·hal·wî·yim בְּנֵֽי־ ( the sons bə·nê- אָסָף֙ of Asaph ) ’ā·sāp̄ בַּֽמְצִלְתַּ֔יִם with cymbals , bam·ṣil·ta·yim וַיַּעֲמִידוּ֩ took their positions way·ya·‘ă·mî·ḏū לְהַלֵּל֙ to praise lə·hal·lêl אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֔ה YHWH , Yah·weh עַל־ as ‘al- דָּוִ֥יד David dā·wîḏ מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel yiś·rā·’êl יְדֵ֖י had prescribed . yə·ḏê Ezra 3:11 וַֽ֠יַּעֲנוּ And they sang responsively way·ya·‘ă·nū בְּהַלֵּ֨ל with praise bə·hal·lêl וּבְהוֹדֹ֤ת and thanksgiving ū·ḇə·hō·w·ḏōṯ לַֽיהוָה֙ to YHWH : Yah·weh כִּ֣י “ For kî ט֔וֹב He is good ; ṭō·wḇ כִּֽי־ for kî- חַסְדּ֖וֹ His loving devotion ḥas·dōw עַל־ to ‘al- יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל Israel yiś·rā·’êl לְעוֹלָ֥ם endures forever . ” lə·‘ō·w·lām וְכָל־ Then all wə·ḵāl הָעָ֡ם the people hā·‘ām גְדוֹלָ֤ה gave a great ḡə·ḏō·w·lāh הֵרִיעוּ֩ shout hê·rî·‘ū תְרוּעָ֙ה . . . ṯə·rū·ʿå̄h בְהַלֵּל֙ of praise ḇə·hal·lêl לַֽיהוָ֔ה to YHWH , Yah·weh עַ֖ל because {the foundation} ‘al בֵּית־ of the house bêṯ- יְהוָֽה׃ס of YHWH Yah·weh הוּסַ֥ד had been laid . hū·saḏ Ezra 3:12 וְרַבִּ֡ים But many wə·rab·bîm הַזְּקֵנִ֗ים of the older haz·zə·qê·nîm מֵהַכֹּהֲנִ֣ים priests , mê·hak·kō·hă·nîm וְהַלְוִיִּם֩ Levites , wə·hal·wî·yim הָאָב֜וֹת and family hā·’ā·ḇō·wṯ וְרָאשֵׁ֨י heads wə·rā·šê אֲשֶׁ֨ר who ’ă·šer רָא֜וּ had seen rā·’ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָֽרִאשׁוֹן֙ the first hā·ri·šō·wn הַבַּ֤יִת temple hab·ba·yiṯ בֹּכִ֖ים wept bō·ḵîm בְּק֣וֹל loudly bə·qō·wl גָּד֑וֹל . . . gā·ḏō·wl בְּעֵ֣ינֵיהֶ֔ם when they saw bə·‘ê·nê·hem בְּיָסְד֔וֹ the foundation bə·yā·sə·ḏōw זֶ֤ה of this zeh הַבַּ֙יִת֙ temple . hab·ba·yiṯ וְרַבִּ֛ים Still, many wə·rab·bîm בִּתְרוּעָ֥ה others shouted biṯ·rū·‘āh לְהָרִ֥ים . . . lə·hā·rîm קֽוֹל׃ joyfully qō·wl בְשִׂמְחָ֖ה . . . . ḇə·śim·ḥāh Ezra 3:13 הָעָ֗ם The people hā·‘ām וְאֵ֣ין could not wə·’ên מַכִּירִים֙ distinguish mak·kî·rîm ק֚וֹל vvv qō·wl תְּרוּעַ֣ת the shouts tə·rū·‘aṯ הַשִּׂמְחָ֔ה of joy haś·śim·ḥāh לְק֖וֹל from the sound lə·qō·wl בְּכִ֣י of weeping , bə·ḵî כִּ֣י because kî הָעָ֗ם . . . hā·‘ām הָעָ֑ם the people hā·‘ām מְרִיעִים֙ were making so much noise mə·rî·‘îm תְּרוּעָ֣ה . . . tə·rū·‘āh גְדוֹלָ֔ה . . . . ḡə·ḏō·w·lāh
