Genesis 42:27 בַּמָּל֑וֹן At the place where they lodged for the night , bam·mā·lō·wn הָאֶחָ֜ד one hā·’e·ḥāḏ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּפְתַּ֨ח of them opened way·yip̄·taḥ שַׂקּ֗וֹ his sack śaq·qōw לָתֵ֥ת to get lā·ṯêṯ מִסְפּ֛וֹא feed mis·pō·w לַחֲמֹר֖וֹ for his donkey , la·ḥă·mō·rōw וַיַּרְא֙ and he saw way·yar אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כַּסְפּ֔וֹ his silver kas·pōw וְהִנֵּה־ . . . wə·hin·nêh- ה֖וּא . . . hū בְּפִ֥י in the mouth bə·p̄î אַמְתַּחְתּֽוֹ׃ of the sack . ’am·taḥ·tōw Genesis 42:28 כַּסְפִּ֔י “ My silver kas·pî וְגַ֖ם . . . wə·ḡam הוּשַׁ֣ב has been returned ! ” hū·šaḇ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר he said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- אֶחָיו֙ his brothers . ’e·ḥāw הִנֵּ֣ה “ It is here hin·nêh בְאַמְתַּחְתִּ֑י in my sack . ” ḇə·’am·taḥ·tî לִבָּ֗ם Their hearts lib·bām וַיֵּצֵ֣א sank , way·yê·ṣê וַיֶּֽחֶרְד֞וּ and trembling , way·ye·ḥer·ḏū אֶל־ they turned to ’el- אִ֤ישׁ one ’îš אָחִיו֙ another ’ā·ḥîw לֵאמֹ֔ר and said , lê·mōr מַה־ “ What mah- זֹּ֛את is this zōṯ אֱלֹהִ֖ים that God ’ĕ·lō·hîm עָשָׂ֥ה has done ‘ā·śāh לָֽנוּ׃ to us ? ” lā·nū Genesis 42:29 וַיָּבֹ֛אוּ When they reached way·yā·ḇō·’ū אֶל־ . . . ’el- אֲבִיהֶ֖ם their father ’ă·ḇî·hem יַעֲקֹ֥ב Jacob ya·‘ă·qōḇ אַ֣רְצָה in the land ’ar·ṣāh כְּנָ֑עַן of Canaan , kə·nā·‘an וַיַּגִּ֣ידוּ they described way·yag·gî·ḏū ל֔וֹ to lōw אֵ֛ת him ’êṯ כָּל־ all kāl- הַקֹּרֹ֥ת that had happened to them haq·qō·rōṯ אֹתָ֖ם - ’ō·ṯām לֵאמֹֽר׃ - : lê·mōr Genesis 42:30 הָאִ֨ישׁ “ The man hā·’îš אֲדֹנֵ֥י who is lord ’ă·ḏō·nê הָאָ֛רֶץ of the land hā·’ā·reṣ דִּ֠בֶּר spoke dib·ber קָשׁ֑וֹת harshly qā·šō·wṯ וַיִּתֵּ֣ן . . . way·yit·tên אֹתָ֔נוּ - ’ō·ṯā·nū אִתָּ֖נוּ to us ’it·tā·nū כִּֽמְרַגְּלִ֖ים and accused us of spying kim·rag·gə·lîm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאָֽרֶץ׃ on the country . hā·’ā·reṣ Genesis 42:31 וַנֹּ֥אמֶר But we told wan·nō·mer אֵלָ֖יו him , ’ê·lāw אֲנָ֑חְנוּ ‘ We ’ă·nā·ḥə·nū הָיִ֖ינוּ are hā·yî·nū כֵּנִ֣ים honest men , kê·nîm לֹ֥א not lō מְרַגְּלִֽים׃ spies . mə·rag·gə·lîm Genesis 42:32 אֲנַ֛חְנוּ We ’ă·naḥ·nū שְׁנֵים־ are twelve šə·nêm- עָשָׂ֥ר . . . ‘ā·śār אַחִ֖ים brothers , ’a·ḥîm בְּנֵ֣י sons bə·nê אָבִ֑ינוּ of one father . ’ā·ḇî·nū הָאֶחָ֣ד One hā·’e·ḥāḏ אֵינֶ֔נּוּ is no more , ’ê·nen·nū וְהַקָּטֹ֥ן and the youngest wə·haq·qā·ṭōn הַיּ֛וֹם is now hay·yō·wm אֶת־ with ’eṯ- אָבִ֖ינוּ our father ’ā·ḇî·nū בְּאֶ֥רֶץ in the land bə·’e·reṣ כְּנָֽעַן׃ of Canaan . ’ kə·nā·‘an
