וְאֶת־ from wə·’eṯ- הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ the royal ham·me·leḵ בֵּ֥ית palace , bêṯ וְהַשָּׂרִ֑ים and from the princes wə·haś·śā·rîm וַיִּתֵּן֙ and had presented way·yit·tên לְמֶ֣לֶךְ [it] to the king lə·me·leḵ אַשּׁ֔וּר of Assyria , ’aš·šūr וְלֹ֥א it did not wə·lō לְעֶזְרָ֖ה help lə·‘ez·rāh לֽוֹ׃ him . lōw 2 Chronicles 28:22 וּבְעֵת֙ In the time ū·ḇə·‘êṯ הָצֵ֣ר of his distress hā·ṣêr ל֔וֹ , lōw הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ King ham·me·leḵ אָחָֽז׃ Ahaz ’ā·ḥāz ה֖וּא - hū וַיּ֖וֹסֶף became even more way·yō·w·sep̄ לִמְע֣וֹל unfaithful lim·‘ō·wl בַּיהוָ֑ה to YHWH . Yah·weh 2 Chronicles 28:23 דַרְמֶשֶׂק֮ [Since] Damascus ḏar·me·śeq הַמַּכִּ֣ים had defeated ham·mak·kîm בּוֹ֒ him , bōw וַיִּזְבַּ֗ח he sacrificed way·yiz·baḥ לֵֽאלֹהֵ֣י to their gods lê·lō·hê וַיֹּ֗אמֶר and said , way·yō·mer כִּ֠י “ Because kî אֱלֹהֵ֤י the gods ’ĕ·lō·hê מַלְכֵֽי־ of the kings mal·ḵê- אֲרָם֙ of Aram ’ă·rām הֵ֚ם hêm מַעְזְרִ֣ים have helped ma‘·zə·rîm אוֹתָ֔ם them , ’ō·w·ṯām אֲזַבֵּ֖חַ I will sacrifice ’ă·zab·bê·aḥ לָהֶ֥ם to them lā·hem וְיַעְזְר֑וּנִי that they may help me .” wə·ya‘·zə·rū·nî וְהֵ֛ם But these [gods] wə·hêm הָֽיוּ־ were hā·yū- לְהַכְשִׁיל֖וֹ the downfall lə·haḵ·šî·lōw ל֥וֹ of [Ahaz] lōw וּלְכָל־ and of all ū·lə·ḵāl- יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Israel . yiś·rā·’êl 2 Chronicles 28:24 אָחָ֜ז Then Ahaz ’ā·ḥāz אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיֶּאֱסֹ֨ף gathered up way·ye·’ĕ·sōp̄ כְּלֵ֣י the articles kə·lê בֵית־ of the house ḇêṯ- הָֽאֱלֹהִ֗ים of God , hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm כְּלֵ֣י cut them kə·lê בֵית־ . . . ḇêṯ- הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים . . . hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm וַיְקַצֵּץ֙ into pieces , way·qaṣ·ṣêṣ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּסְגֹּ֖ר shut way·yis·gōr אֶת־ - ’eṯ- דַּלְת֣וֹת the doors dal·ṯō·wṯ בֵּית־ of the house bêṯ- יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH , Yah·weh וַיַּ֨עַשׂ and set up way·ya·‘aś מִזְבְּח֛וֹת altars miz·bə·ḥō·wṯ ל֧וֹ of his own lōw בְּכָל־ on every bə·ḵāl פִּנָּ֖ה street corner pin·nāh בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ in Jerusalem . bî·rū·šā·lim 2 Chronicles 28:25 וּבְכָל־ In every ū·ḇə·ḵāl עִ֨יר city ‘îr וָעִ֤יר . . . wā·‘îr לִֽיהוּדָה֙ of Judah lî·hū·ḏāh עָשָׂ֣ה he built ‘ā·śāh בָמ֔וֹת high places ḇā·mō·wṯ לְקַטֵּ֖ר to offer incense lə·qaṭ·ṭêr אֲחֵרִ֑ים to other ’ă·ḥê·rîm לֵֽאלֹהִ֣ים gods , lê·lō·hîm וַיַּכְעֵ֕ס and so he provoked way·yaḵ·‘ês אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֖ה YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֥י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê אֲבֹתָֽיו׃ of his fathers . ’ă·ḇō·ṯāw 2 Chronicles 28:26 וְיֶ֤תֶר As for the rest wə·ye·ṯer דְּבָרָיו֙ of the acts [of Ahaz] də·ḇā·rāw וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl דְּרָכָ֔יו his ways , də·rā·ḵāw הָרִאשֹׁנִ֖ים from beginning hā·ri·šō·nîm וְהָאַחֲרוֹנִ֑ים to end , wə·hā·’a·ḥă·rō·w·nîm הִנָּ֣ם they are indeed hin·nām כְּתוּבִ֔ים written kə·ṯū·ḇîm
