יְהוֹיָדָ֤ע Jehoiada yə·hō·w·yā·ḏā‘ עָשָׂ֜ה had extended ‘ā·śāh עִמּ֔וֹ to him . ‘im·mōw וַֽיַּהֲרֹ֖ג Instead, [Joash] killed way·ya·hă·rōḡ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בְּנ֑וֹ [Jehoiada’s] son . bə·nōw וּכְמוֹת֣וֹ As he lay dying , ū·ḵə·mō·w·ṯōw אָמַ֔ר [Zechariah] said , ’ā·mar יְהוָ֖ה “ May YHWH Yah·weh יֵ֥רֶא see this yê·re וְיִדְרֹֽשׁ׃פ and call you to account .” wə·yiḏ·rōš 2 Chronicles 24:23 וַיְהִ֣י׀ - way·hî לִתְקוּפַ֣ת In the spring liṯ·qū·p̄aṯ הַשָּׁנָ֗ה . . . , haš·šā·nāh אֲרָם֒ the army of Aram ’ă·rām עָלָ֣ה went to war ‘ā·lāh עָלָיו֮ against Joash . ‘ā·lāw חֵ֣יל . . . ḥêl וַיָּבֹ֗אוּ They entered way·yā·ḇō·’ū אֶל־ . . . ’el- יְהוּדָה֙ Judah yə·hū·ḏāh וִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם and Jerusalem wî·rū·šā·lim וַיַּשְׁחִ֛יתוּ and destroyed way·yaš·ḥî·ṯū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כָּל־ all kāl- שָׂרֵ֥י the leaders śā·rê הָעָ֖ם of the people hā·‘ām מֵעָ֑ם - , mê·‘ām שִׁלְּח֖וּ and they sent šil·lə·ḥū וְכָל־ all wə·ḵāl שְׁלָלָ֥ם the plunder šə·lā·lām לְמֶ֥לֶךְ to their king lə·me·leḵ דַּרְמָֽשֶׂק׃ in Damascus . dar·mā·śeq 2 Chronicles 24:24 כִּי֩ Although kî אֲרָ֗ם the Aramean ’ă·rām חֵ֣יל army ḥêl בָּ֣אוּ׀ had come bā·’ū בְמִצְעַ֨ר with only a few ḇə·miṣ·‘ar אֲנָשִׁ֜ים men , ’ă·nā·šîm וַֽיהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh נָתַ֨ן delivered nā·ṯan בְּיָדָ֥ם into their hand bə·yā·ḏām מְאֹ֔ד a very mə·’ōḏ לָרֹ֣ב great lā·rōḇ חַ֙יִל֙ army . ḥa·yil כִּ֣י Because kî עָֽזְב֔וּ Judah had forsaken ‘ā·zə·ḇū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֖ה YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֣י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê אֲבוֹתֵיהֶ֑ם of their fathers , ’ă·ḇō·w·ṯê·hem שְׁפָטִֽים׃ judgment šə·p̄ā·ṭîm עָשׂ֥וּ was executed ‘ā·śū וְאֶת־ on wə·’eṯ- יוֹאָ֖שׁ Joash . yō·w·’āš 2 Chronicles 24:25 וּבְלֶכְתָּ֣ם And when [the Arameans] had withdrawn ū·ḇə·leḵ·tām מִמֶּ֗נּוּ . . . mim·men·nū כִּֽי־ , kî- עָזְב֣וּ they left ‘ā·zə·ḇū אֹתוֹ֮ [Joash] ’ō·ṯōw רַבִּים֒ severely rab·bîm בְּמַחֲלִיִּים wounded . bə·ma·ḥă·lī·yīm עֲבָדָ֗יו His own servants ‘ă·ḇā·ḏāw הִתְקַשְּׁר֨וּ conspired hiṯ·qaš·šə·rū עָלָ֜יו against him ‘ā·lāw בִּדְמֵי֙ for shedding the blood biḏ·mê בְּנֵי֙ of the son bə·nê יְהוֹיָדָ֣ע of Jehoiada yə·hō·w·yā·ḏā‘ הַכֹּהֵ֔ן the priest , hak·kō·hên וַיַּֽהַרְגֻ֥הוּ and they killed him way·ya·har·ḡu·hū עַל־ on ‘al- מִטָּת֖וֹ his bed . miṭ·ṭā·ṯōw וַיָּמֹ֑ת So he died way·yā·mōṯ וַֽיִּקְבְּרֻ֙הוּ֙ and was buried way·yiq·bə·ru·hū בְּעִ֣יר in the City bə·‘îr דָּוִ֔יד of David , dā·wîḏ וְלֹ֥א but not wə·lō קְבָרֻ֖הוּ - qə·ḇā·ru·hū בְּקִבְר֥וֹת in the tombs bə·qiḇ·rō·wṯ הַמְּלָכִֽים׃ס of the kings . ham·mə·lā·ḵîm 2 Chronicles 24:26 וְאֵ֖לֶּה Those wə·’êl·leh הַמִּתְקַשְּׁרִ֣ים who conspired ham·miṯ·qaš·šə·rîm עָלָ֑יו against [Joash] ‘ā·lāw זָבָ֗ד were Zabad zā·ḇāḏ בֶּן־ son ben- שִׁמְעָת֙ of Shimeath šim·‘āṯ הָֽעַמּוֹנִ֔ית the Ammonitess hā·‘am·mō·w·nîṯ וִיה֣וֹזָבָ֔ד and Jehozabad wî·hō·w·zā·ḇāḏ
