2 Chronicles 25:5 אֲמַצְיָ֙הוּ֙ Then Amaziah ’ă·maṣ·yā·hū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּקְבֹּ֤ץ gathered way·yiq·bōṣ יְהוּדָ֔ה [the people of] Judah yə·hū·ḏāh וַיַּֽעֲמִידֵ֣ם . . . way·ya·‘ă·mî·ḏêm אָב֗וֹת and assigned them according to their families ’ā·ḇō·wṯ לְבֵית־ . . . lə·ḇêṯ- לְשָׂרֵ֤י to commanders lə·śā·rê הָאֲלָפִים֙ of thousands hā·’ă·lā·p̄îm וּלְשָׂרֵ֣י [and] ū·lə·śā·rê הַמֵּא֔וֹת of hundreds . ham·mê·’ō·wṯ וַֽיִּפְקְדֵ֗ם And he numbered way·yip̄·qə·ḏêm עֶשְׂרִ֤ים those twenty ‘eś·rîm לְמִבֶּ֨ן years of age lə·mib·ben שָׁנָה֙ . . . šā·nāh וָמַ֔עְלָה or older wā·ma‘·lāh לְכָל־ throughout lə·ḵāl יְהוּדָ֖ה Judah yə·hū·ḏāh וּבִנְיָמִ֑ן and Benjamin ū·ḇin·yā·min וַיִּמְצָאֵ֗ם and found way·yim·ṣā·’êm שְׁלֹשׁ־ 300,000 {} šə·lōš- מֵא֨וֹת . . . mê·’ō·wṯ אֶ֤לֶף . . . ’e·lep̄ בָּחוּר֙ chosen [men] bā·ḥūr יוֹצֵ֣א [able] to serve yō·w·ṣê צָבָ֔א in the army , ṣā·ḇā אֹחֵ֖ז bearing ’ō·ḥêz רֹ֥מַח the spear rō·maḥ וְצִנָּֽה׃ and shield . wə·ṣin·nāh 2 Chronicles 25:6 וַיִּשְׂכֹּ֣ר He also hired way·yiś·kōr בְּמֵאָ֥ה 100,000 {} bə·mê·’āh אֶ֛לֶף . . . ’e·lep̄ גִּבּ֥וֹר mighty warriors gib·bō·wr חָ֖יִל . . . ḥā·yil מִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֗ל from Israel mî·yiś·rā·’êl מֵ֥אָה for a hundred mê·’āh כִכַּר־ talents ḵik·kar- כָּֽסֶף׃ of silver . kā·sep̄ 2 Chronicles 25:7 וְאִ֣ישׁ But a man wə·’îš הָאֱלֹהִ֗ים of God hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm בָּ֤א came bā אֵלָיו֙ to him ’ê·lāw לֵאמֹ֔ר and said , lê·mōr הַמֶּ֕לֶךְ “ O king , ham·me·leḵ אַל־ do not let ’al- צְבָ֣א the army ṣə·ḇā יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl יָבֹ֥א go yā·ḇō עִמְּךָ֖ with you , ‘im·mə·ḵā כִּ֣י for kî יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh אֵ֤ין is not ’ên עִם־ with ‘im- יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל Israel — yiś·rā·’êl כֹּ֖ל [not with] any kōl בְּנֵ֥י of the Ephraimites bə·nê אֶפְרָֽיִם׃ . . . . ’ep̄·rā·yim 2 Chronicles 25:8 כִּ֚י Even kî אִם־ if ’im- אַתָּ֔ה you ’at·tāh בֹּ֣א go bō עֲשֵׂ֖ה and fight ‘ă·śêh חֲזַ֣ק bravely ḥă·zaq לַמִּלְחָמָ֑ה in battle , lam·mil·ḥā·māh הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ God hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm יַכְשִֽׁילְךָ֤ will make you stumble yaḵ·šî·lə·ḵā לִפְנֵ֣י before lip̄·nê אוֹיֵ֔ב the enemy , ’ō·w·yêḇ כִּ֥י for kî בֵּאלֹהִ֖ים God bê·lō·hîm יֶשׁ־ has yeš- כֹּ֛חַ power kō·aḥ לַעְז֥וֹר to help la‘·zō·wr וּלְהַכְשִֽׁיל׃ and [power] to overthrow .” ū·lə·haḵ·šîl 2 Chronicles 25:9 אֲמַצְיָ֙הוּ֙ Amaziah ’ă·maṣ·yā·hū וַיֹּ֤אמֶר asked way·yō·mer לְאִ֣ישׁ the man lə·’îš הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים of God , hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm וּמַֽה־ “ What ū·mah- לַּעֲשׂוֹת֙ should I do la·‘ă·śō·wṯ לִמְאַ֣ת about the hundred lim·’aṯ הַכִּכָּ֔ר talents hak·kik·kār אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer נָתַ֖תִּי I have given nā·ṯat·tî לִגְד֣וּד to the army liḡ·ḏūḏ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel ?” yiś·rā·’êl אִ֣ישׁ And the man ’îš הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים of God hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm
