הַחֲיָלִ֤ים of his armies ha·ḥă·yā·lîm אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- לוֹ֙ lōw אֶל־ against ’el- עָרֵ֣י the cities ‘ā·rê יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl וַיַּכּוּ֙ conquering way·yak·kū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עִיּ֣וֹן Ijon , ‘î·yō·wn וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- דָּ֔ן Dan , dān וְאֵ֖ת - wə·’êṯ אָבֵ֣ל vvv ’ā·ḇêl מָ֑יִם Abel-maim , mā·yim וְאֵ֥ת - wə·’êṯ כָּֽל־ and all kāl- מִסְכְּנ֖וֹת the store mis·kə·nō·wṯ עָרֵ֥י cities ‘ā·rê נַפְתָּלִֽי׃ of Naphtali . nap̄·tā·lî 2 Chronicles 16:5 וַיְהִי֙ - way·hî בַּעְשָׁ֔א When Baasha ba‘·šā כִּשְׁמֹ֣עַ learned of this , kiš·mō·a‘ וַיֶּחְדַּ֕ל he stopped way·yeḥ·dal מִבְּנ֖וֹת fortifying mib·bə·nō·wṯ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָרָמָ֑ה Ramah hā·rā·māh וַיַּשְׁבֵּ֖ת and abandoned way·yaš·bêṯ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מְלַאכְתּֽוֹ׃ס his work . mə·laḵ·tōw 2 Chronicles 16:6 הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ Then King ham·me·leḵ וְאָסָ֣א Asa wə·’ā·sā לָקַח֙ brought lā·qaḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כָּל־ all [the men] kāl- יְהוּדָ֔ה of Judah , yə·hū·ḏāh וַיִּשְׂא֞וּ and they carried away way·yiś·’ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אַבְנֵ֤י the stones ’aḇ·nê הָֽרָמָה֙ of Ramah hā·rā·māh וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- עֵצֶ֔יהָ and the timbers ‘ê·ṣe·hā אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer בַּעְשָׁ֑א Baasha ba‘·šā בָּנָ֖ה had used for building . bā·nāh בָּהֶ֔ם And with [these materials] bā·hem וַיִּ֣בֶן he built up way·yi·ḇen אֶת־ - ’eṯ- גֶּ֖בַע Geba ge·ḇa‘ וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הַמִּצְפָּֽה׃ס and Mizpah . ham·miṣ·pāh 2 Chronicles 16:7 הַהִ֗יא At that ha·hî וּבָעֵ֣ת time ū·ḇā·‘êṯ חֲנָ֣נִי Hanani ḥă·nā·nî הָרֹאֶ֔ה the seer hā·rō·’eh בָּ֚א came bā אֶל־ to ’el- מֶ֣לֶךְ King me·leḵ אָסָ֖א Asa ’ā·sā יְהוּדָ֑ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh וַיֹּ֣אמֶר and told way·yō·mer אֵלָ֗יו him , ’ê·lāw בְּהִשָּׁ֨עֶנְךָ֜ “ Because you have relied bə·hiš·šā·‘en·ḵā עַל־ on ‘al- מֶ֤לֶךְ the king me·leḵ אֲרָם֙ of Aram ’ă·rām וְלֹ֤א and not wə·lō נִשְׁעַ֙נְתָּ֙ - niš·‘an·tā עַל־ on ‘al- יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ your God , ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā עַל־ . . . ‘al- כֵּ֗ן . . . kên חֵ֥יל the army ḥêl מֶֽלֶךְ־ of the king me·leḵ- אֲרָ֖ם of Aram ’ă·rām נִמְלַ֛ט has escaped nim·laṭ מִיָּדֶֽךָ׃ from your hand . mî·yā·ḏe·ḵā 2 Chronicles 16:8 הָי֨וּ Were hā·yū הֲלֹ֧א not hă·lō הַכּוּשִׁ֣ים the Cushites hak·kū·šîm וְהַלּוּבִ֗ים and Libyans wə·hal·lū·ḇîm לָרֹ֛ב a vast lā·rōḇ לְחַ֧יִל׀ army lə·ḥa·yil לְהַרְבֵּ֣ה with many lə·har·bêh מְאֹ֑ד . . . mə·’ōḏ לְרֶ֥כֶב chariots lə·re·ḵeḇ וּלְפָרָשִׁ֖ים and horsemen ? ū·lə·p̄ā·rā·šîm וּבְהִשָּֽׁעֶנְךָ֥ Yet because you relied ū·ḇə·hiš·šā·‘en·ḵā
