וַיִּגְּפֵ֥הוּ struck him down way·yig·gə·p̄ê·hū וַיָּמֹֽת׃פ and he died . way·yā·mōṯ 2 Chronicles 13:21 אֲבִיָּ֔הוּ But Abijah ’ă·ḇî·yā·hū וַיִּתְחַזֵּ֣ק grew strong , way·yiṯ·ḥaz·zêq וַיִּ֨שָּׂא־ married way·yiś·śā- ל֔וֹ . . . lōw אַרְבַּ֣ע fourteen ’ar·ba‘ עֶשְׂרֵ֑ה . . . ‘eś·rêh נָשִׁ֖ים wives , nā·šîm וַיּ֗וֹלֶד and became the father way·yō·w·leḏ עֶשְׂרִ֤ים of twenty-two ‘eś·rîm וּשְׁנַ֙יִם֙ . . . ū·šə·na·yim בָּנִ֔ים sons bā·nîm וְשֵׁ֥שׁ and sixteen wə·šêš עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה . . . ‘eś·rêh בָּנֽוֹת׃ס daughters . bā·nō·wṯ 2 Chronicles 13:22 וְיֶ֙תֶר֙ Now the rest wə·ye·ṯer דִּבְרֵ֣י of the acts diḇ·rê אֲבִיָּ֔ה of Abijah , ’ă·ḇî·yāh וּדְרָכָ֖יו along with his ways ū·ḏə·rā·ḵāw וּדְבָרָ֑יו and his words , ū·ḏə·ḇā·rāw כְּתוּבִ֕ים [are] written kə·ṯū·ḇîm בְּמִדְרַ֖שׁ in the Treatise bə·miḏ·raš הַנָּבִ֥יא of the Prophet han·nā·ḇî עִדּֽוֹ׃ Iddo . ‘id·dōw 2 Chronicles 14:1 אֲבִיָּ֜ה Then Abijah ’ă·ḇî·yāh וַיִּשְׁכַּ֨ב rested way·yiš·kaḇ עִם־ with ‘im- אֲבֹתָ֗יו his fathers ’ă·ḇō·ṯāw וַיִּקְבְּר֤וּ and was buried way·yiq·bə·rū אֹתוֹ֙ - ’ō·ṯōw בְּעִ֣יר in the City bə·‘îr דָּוִ֔יד of David . dā·wîḏ בְנ֖וֹ And his son ḇə·nōw אָסָ֥א Asa ’ā·sā וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ reigned way·yim·lōḵ תַּחְתָּ֑יו in his place , taḥ·tāw בְּיָמָ֛יו and in his days bə·yā·māw הָאָ֖רֶץ the land hā·’ā·reṣ שָׁקְטָ֥ה was at peace šā·qə·ṭāh עֶ֥שֶׂר [for] ten ‘e·śer שָׁנִֽים׃פ years . šā·nîm 2 Chronicles 14:2 אָסָא֙ And Asa ’ā·sā וַיַּ֤עַשׂ did way·ya·‘aś הַטּ֣וֹב what was good haṭ·ṭō·wḇ וְהַיָּשָׁ֔ר and right wə·hay·yā·šār בְּעֵינֵ֖י in the eyes bə·‘ê·nê יְהוָ֥ה of YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהָֽיו׃ his God . ’ĕ·lō·hāw 2 Chronicles 14:3 וַיָּ֛סַר He removed way·yā·sar אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַנֵּכָ֖ר the foreign han·nê·ḵār מִזְבְּח֥וֹת altars miz·bə·ḥō·wṯ וְהַבָּמ֑וֹת and high places , wə·hab·bā·mō·wṯ וַיְשַׁבֵּר֙ shattered way·šab·bêr אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַמַּצֵּב֔וֹת the sacred pillars , ham·maṣ·ṣê·ḇō·wṯ וַיְגַדַּ֖ע and chopped down way·ḡad·da‘ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאֲשֵׁרִֽים׃ the Asherah poles . hā·’ă·šê·rîm 2 Chronicles 14:4 וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ He commanded way·yō·mer לִֽיהוּדָ֔ה the people of Judah lî·hū·ḏāh לִדְר֕וֹשׁ to seek liḏ·rō·wōš אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֖ה YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֣י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê אֲבוֹתֵיהֶ֑ם of their fathers , ’ă·ḇō·w·ṯê·hem וְלַעֲשׂ֖וֹת and to observe wə·la·‘ă·śō·wṯ הַתּוֹרָ֥ה the law hat·tō·w·rāh וְהַמִּצְוָֽה׃ and the commandments . wə·ham·miṣ·wāh 2 Chronicles 14:5 וַיָּ֙סַר֙ He also removed way·yā·sar הַבָּמ֖וֹת the high places hab·bā·mō·wṯ וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הַֽחַמָּנִ֑ים and incense altars ha·ḥam·mā·nîm מִכָּל־ from all mik·kāl עָרֵ֣י the cities ‘ā·rê יְהוּדָ֔ה of Judah , yə·hū·ḏāh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- לְפָנָֽיו׃ and under him lə·p̄ā·nāw
