וְלַֽמְחַבְּר֖וֹת and for the fittings , wə·lam·ḥab·bə·rō·wṯ לָרֹ֖ב together with more lā·rōḇ וּנְחֹ֥שֶׁת bronze ū·nə·ḥō·šeṯ אֵ֥ין . . . ’ên מִשְׁקָֽל׃ than could be weighed miš·qāl 1 Chronicles 22:4 מִסְפָּ֑ר and more mis·pār אֲרָזִ֖ים cedar ’ă·rā·zîm וַעֲצֵ֥י logs wa·‘ă·ṣê לְאֵ֣ין than could be counted ; lə·’ên כִּֽי for kî הַצִּֽידֹנִ֨ים the Sidonians haṣ·ṣî·ḏō·nîm וְהַצֹּרִ֜ים and Tyrians wə·haṣ·ṣō·rîm הֵ֠בִיאוּ had brought hê·ḇî·’ū לָרֹ֖ב a large quantity of lā·rōḇ אֲרָזִ֛ים cedar ’ă·rā·zîm עֲצֵ֧י logs ‘ă·ṣê לְדָוִֽיד׃פ to David . lə·ḏā·wîḏ 1 Chronicles 22:5 דָּוִ֗יד And David dā·wîḏ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said , way·yō·mer בְנִי֮ “ My son ḇə·nî שְׁלֹמֹ֣ה Solomon šə·lō·mōh נַ֣עַר is young na·‘ar וָרָךְ֒ and inexperienced , wā·rāḵ וְהַבַּ֜יִת and the house wə·hab·ba·yiṯ לִבְנ֣וֹת to be built liḇ·nō·wṯ לַיהוָ֗ה for YHWH Yah·weh לְמַ֜עְלָה must be exceedingly lə·ma‘·lāh לְהַגְדִּ֨יל׀ magnificent — lə·haḡ·dîl לְשֵׁ֤ם famous lə·šêm וּלְתִפְאֶ֙רֶת֙ and glorious ū·lə·ṯip̄·’e·reṯ לְכָל־ throughout all lə·ḵāl הָ֣אֲרָצ֔וֹת lands . hā·’ă·rā·ṣō·wṯ נָּ֖א Therefore nā אָכִ֥ינָה I must make preparations ’ā·ḵî·nāh ל֑וֹ for it . ” lōw דָּוִ֛יד So David dā·wîḏ לָרֹ֖ב made lavish lā·rōḇ וַיָּ֧כֶן preparations way·yā·ḵen לִפְנֵ֥י before lip̄·nê מוֹתֽוֹ׃ his death . mō·w·ṯōw 1 Chronicles 22:6 וַיִּקְרָ֖א Then [David] called for way·yiq·rā בְנ֑וֹ his son ḇə·nōw לִשְׁלֹמֹ֣ה Solomon liš·lō·mōh וַיְצַוֵּ֙הוּ֙ and instructed him way·ṣaw·wê·hū לִבְנ֣וֹת to build liḇ·nō·wṯ בַּ֔יִת a house ba·yiṯ לַיהוָ֖ה for YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֥י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ס of Israel . yiś·rā·’êl 1 Chronicles 22:7 בְּנוֹ “ My son , ” bə·nō אֲנִי֙ . . . ’ă·nî וַיֹּ֥אמֶר said way·yō·mer דָּוִ֖יד David dā·wîḏ לִשְׁלֹמֹ֑ה to Solomon , liš·lō·mōh הָיָ֣ה “ it was hā·yāh עִם־ in ‘im- לְבָבִ֔י my heart lə·ḇā·ḇî לִבְנ֣וֹת to build liḇ·nō·wṯ בַּ֔יִת a house ba·yiṯ לְשֵׁ֖ם for the Name lə·šêm יְהוָ֥ה of YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהָֽי׃ my God , ’ĕ·lō·hāy 1 Chronicles 22:8 דְּבַר־ but this word də·ḇar- יְהוָה֙ of YHWH Yah·weh לֵאמֹ֔ר . . . lê·mōr וַיְהִ֨י came way·hî עָלַ֤י to me : ‘ā·lay שָׁפַ֔כְתָּ ‘ You have shed šā·p̄aḵ·tā לָרֹב֙ much lā·rōḇ דָּ֤ם blood dām עָשִׂ֑יתָ and waged ‘ā·śî·ṯā גְּדֹל֖וֹת great gə·ḏō·lō·wṯ וּמִלְחָמ֥וֹת wars . ū·mil·ḥā·mō·wṯ לֹֽא־ You are not lō- תִבְנֶ֥ה to build ṯiḇ·neh בַ֙יִת֙ a house ḇa·yiṯ לִשְׁמִ֔י for My Name liš·mî כִּ֚י because kî שָׁפַ֥כְתָּ you have shed šā·p̄aḵ·tā רַבִּ֔ים so much rab·bîm דָּמִ֣ים blood dā·mîm אַ֖רְצָה on the ground ’ar·ṣāh לְפָנָֽי׃ before Me . lə·p̄ā·nāy
