1 Chronicles 17:4 לֵ֤ךְ “ Go lêḵ וְאָמַרְתָּ֙ and tell wə·’ā·mar·tā אֶל־ . . . ’el- עַבְדִּ֔י My servant ‘aḇ·dî דָּוִ֣יד David dā·wîḏ כֹּ֖ה that this is what kōh יְהוָ֑ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַ֣ר says : ’ā·mar אַתָּ֛ה You ’at·tāh לֹ֥א are not lō תִּבְנֶה־ the one to build tiḇ·neh- לִּ֥י Me lî הַבַּ֖יִת a house hab·ba·yiṯ לָשָֽׁבֶת׃ in which to dwell . lā·šā·ḇeṯ 1 Chronicles 17:5 כִּ֣י For kî לֹ֤א I have not lō יָשַׁ֙בְתִּי֙ dwelt yā·šaḇ·tî בְּבַ֔יִת in a house bə·ḇa·yiṯ מִן־ from min- הַיּ֗וֹם the day hay·yō·wm אֲשֶׁ֤ר - ’ă·šer הֶעֱלֵ֙יתִי֙ I brought he·‘ĕ·lê·ṯî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל Israel up [out of Egypt] yiś·rā·’êl עַ֖ד until ‘aḏ הַזֶּ֑ה this haz·zeh הַיּ֣וֹם day , hay·yō·wm וָֽאֶהְיֶ֛ה but I have moved wā·’eh·yeh מֵאֹ֥הֶל from tent mê·’ō·hel אֶל־ to ’el- אֹ֖הֶל tent ’ō·hel וּמִמִּשְׁכָּֽן׃ and dwelling to dwelling . ū·mim·miš·kān 1 Chronicles 17:6 בְּכֹ֥ל In all bə·ḵōl אֲשֶֽׁר־ - ’ă·šer- הִתְהַלַּכְתִּי֮ My journeys hiṯ·hal·laḵ·tî בְּכָל־ with all bə·ḵāl יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ the Israelites , yiś·rā·’êl דִּבַּ֗רְתִּי have I ever asked dib·bar·tî הֲדָבָ֣ר . . . hă·ḏā·ḇār אֶת־ . . . ’eṯ- אַחַד֙ any ’a·ḥaḏ שֹׁפְטֵ֣י [of the] leaders šō·p̄ə·ṭê יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer צִוִּ֛יתִי I appointed ṣiw·wî·ṯî לִרְע֥וֹת to shepherd lir·‘ō·wṯ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עַמִּ֖י My people , ‘am·mî לֵאמֹ֑ר - lê·mōr לָ֛מָּה ‘ Why lām·māh לֹא־ haven’t lō- בְנִיתֶ֥ם you built ḇə·nî·ṯem לִ֖י Me lî בֵּ֥ית a house bêṯ אֲרָזִֽים׃ of cedar ? ’ ’ă·rā·zîm 1 Chronicles 17:7 וְ֠עַתָּה Now wə·‘at·tāh כֹּֽה־ then , kōh- תֹאמַ֞ר you are to tell ṯō·mar לְעַבְדִּ֣י My servant lə·‘aḇ·dî לְדָוִ֗ידס David lə·ḏå̄·wī·ḏs כֹּ֤ה that this is what kōh יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֔וֹת of Hosts ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ אָמַר֙ says : ’ā·mar אֲנִ֤י I ’ă·nî לְקַחְתִּ֙יךָ֙ took lə·qaḥ·tî·ḵā מִן־ you from min- הַנָּוֶ֔ה the pasture , han·nā·weh מִֽן־ from min- אַחֲרֵ֖י following ’a·ḥă·rê הַצֹּ֑אן the flock , haṣ·ṣōn לִהְי֣וֹת to be lih·yō·wṯ נָגִ֔יד the ruler nā·ḡîḏ עַ֖ל over ‘al עַמִּ֥י My people ‘am·mî יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Israel . yiś·rā·’êl 1 Chronicles 17:8 וָֽאֶהְיֶ֣ה I have been wā·’eh·yeh עִמְּךָ֗ with you ‘im·mə·ḵā בְּכֹל֙ wherever bə·ḵōl אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer הָלַ֔כְתָּ you have gone , hā·laḵ·tā וָאַכְרִ֥ית and I have cut off wā·’aḵ·rîṯ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כָּל־ all kāl- אוֹיְבֶ֖יךָ your enemies ’ō·wy·ḇe·ḵā מִפָּנֶ֑יךָ from before you . mip·pā·ne·ḵā
