עַל־ in charge of ‘al- בֵּית֔וֹ his household bê·ṯōw נָתַ֥ן and entrusted nā·ṯan ל֖וֹ . . . lōw בְּיָדֽוֹ׃ him bə·yā·ḏōw וְכָל־ with everything wə·ḵāl יֶשׁ־ he owned . yeš- Genesis 39:5 וַיְהִ֡י way·hî מֵאָז֩ From the time mê·’āz הִפְקִ֨יד that he put [Joseph] in charge hip̄·qîḏ אֹת֜וֹ - ’ō·ṯōw בְּבֵית֗וֹ of his household bə·ḇê·ṯōw וְעַל֙ and wə·‘al כָּל־ all kāl- אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer יֶשׁ־ he owned , yeš- ל֔וֹ - lōw יְהוָ֛ה YHWH Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיְבָ֧רֶךְ blessed way·ḇā·reḵ הַמִּצְרִ֖י the Egyptian’s ham·miṣ·rî בֵּ֥ית household bêṯ בִּגְלַ֣ל on account of biḡ·lal יוֹסֵ֑ף [him] . yō·w·sêp̄ וַיְהִ֞י . . . way·hî יְהוָה֙ YHWH’s Yah·weh בִּרְכַּ֤ת blessing bir·kaṯ בְּכָל־ [was] on everything bə·ḵāl אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer יֶשׁ־ he owned yeš- ל֔וֹ . . . , lōw בַּבַּ֖יִת both in his house bab·ba·yiṯ וּבַשָּׂדֶֽה׃ and in his field . ū·ḇaś·śā·ḏeh Genesis 39:6 וַיַּעֲזֹ֣ב So [Potiphar] left way·ya·‘ă·zōḇ כָּל־ all kāl- אֲשֶׁר־ that ’ă·šer- לוֹ֮ he owned lōw יוֹסֵף֒ in Joseph’s yō·w·sêp̄ בְּיַד־ care ; bə·yaḏ- וְלֹא־ he did not wə·lō- יָדַ֤ע concern himself yā·ḏa‘ אִתּוֹ֙ . . . ’it·tōw מְא֔וּמָה with anything mə·’ū·māh כִּ֥י except kî אִם־ . . . ’im- הַלֶּ֖חֶם the food hal·le·ḥem אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- ה֣וּא he hū אוֹכֵ֑ל ate . ’ō·w·ḵêl יוֹסֵ֔ף Now Joseph yō·w·sêp̄ וַיְהִ֣י was way·hî יְפֵה־ well-built yə·p̄êh- תֹ֖אַר . . . ṯō·’ar וִיפֵ֥ה and handsome wî·p̄êh מַרְאֶֽה׃ . . . , mar·’eh Genesis 39:7 וַיְהִ֗י and way·hî אַחַר֙ after some time ’a·ḥar הַדְּבָרִ֣ים . . . had·də·ḇā·rîm הָאֵ֔לֶּה . . . hā·’êl·leh אֲדֹנָ֛יו his master’s ’ă·ḏō·nāw אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֵֽשֶׁת־ wife ’ê·šeṯ- וַתִּשָּׂ֧א cast wat·tiś·śā עֵינֶ֖יהָ her eyes ‘ê·ne·hā אֶל־ upon ’el- יוֹסֵ֑ף Joseph yō·w·sêp̄ וַתֹּ֖אמֶר and said , wat·tō·mer שִׁכְבָ֥ה “ Sleep šiḵ·ḇāh עִמִּֽי׃ with me . ” ‘im·mî Genesis 39:8 וַיְמָאֵ֓ן׀ But he refused . way·mā·’ên הֵ֣ן “ Look , ” hên וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ he said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- אֲדֹנָ֔יו his master’s ’ă·ḏō·nāw אֵ֣שֶׁת wife , ’ê·šeṯ אִתִּ֖י “ with me here , ’it·tî אֲדֹנִ֔י my master ’ă·ḏō·nî לֹא־ does not lō- יָדַ֥ע concern himself yā·ḏa‘ מַה־ with anything mah- בַּבָּ֑יִת in his house , bab·bā·yiṯ נָתַ֥ן and he has entrusted nā·ṯan וְכֹ֥ל everything wə·ḵōl אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- יֶשׁ־ he owns yeš- ל֖וֹ to lōw בְּיָדִֽי׃ my care . bə·yā·ḏî
