וַיָּ֣דֶק ground way·yā·ḏeq לְעָפָ֑ר [it] to powder , lə·‘ā·p̄ār וַיַּשְׁלֵךְ֙ and threw way·yaš·lêḵ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עֲפָרָ֔הּ its dust ‘ă·p̄ā·rāh עַל־ on ‘al- קֶ֖בֶר the graves qe·ḇer בְּנֵ֥י of the common bə·nê הָעָֽם׃ people . hā·‘ām 2 Kings 23:7 וַיִּתֹּץ֙ He also tore down way·yit·tōṣ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בָּתֵּ֣י the quarters bāt·tê הַקְּדֵשִׁ֔ים of the male shrine prostitutes haq·qə·ḏê·šîm אֲשֶׁ֖ר that [were] ’ă·šer בְּבֵ֣ית in the house bə·ḇêṯ יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH , Yah·weh אֲשֶׁ֣ר where ’ă·šer הַנָּשִׁ֗ים the women han·nā·šîm אֹרְג֥וֹת had woven ’ō·rə·ḡō·wṯ שָׁ֛ם . . . šām בָּתִּ֖ים tapestries bāt·tîm לָאֲשֵׁרָֽה׃ for Asherah . lā·’ă·šê·rāh 2 Kings 23:8 וַיָּבֵ֤א Then Josiah brought way·yā·ḇê אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כָּל־ all kāl- הַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ the priests hak·kō·hă·nîm מֵעָרֵ֣י from the cities mê·‘ā·rê יְהוּדָ֔ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh וַיְטַמֵּ֣א and desecrated way·ṭam·mê אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַבָּמ֗וֹת the high places , hab·bā·mō·wṯ אֲשֶׁ֤ר from ’ă·šer מִגֶּ֖בַע Geba mig·ge·ḇa‘ עַד־ to ‘aḏ- בְּאֵ֣ר vvv bə·’êr שָׁ֑בַע Beersheba , šā·ḇa‘ שָׁ֙מָּה֙ where šām·māh הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים the priests hak·kō·hă·nîm קִטְּרוּ־ had burned incense . qiṭ·ṭə·rū- וְנָתַ֞ץ He tore down wə·nā·ṯaṣ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בָּמ֣וֹת the high places bā·mō·wṯ הַשְּׁעָרִ֗ים of the gates haš·šə·‘ā·rîm אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- פֶּ֜תַח at the entrance pe·ṯaḥ שַׁ֤עַר of the gate ša·‘ar יְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙ of Joshua yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ שַׂר־ the governor śar- הָעִ֔יר of the city , hā·‘îr אֲשֶֽׁר־ which was ’ă·šer- עַל־ to ‘al- שְׂמֹ֥אול the left śə·mō·wl אִ֖ישׁ . . . ’îš הָעִֽיר׃ of the city hā·‘îr בְּשַׁ֥עַר gate . bə·ša·‘ar 2 Kings 23:9 אַ֗ךְ Although ’aḵ כֹּהֲנֵ֣י the priests kō·hă·nê הַבָּמ֔וֹת of the high places hab·bā·mō·wṯ לֹ֤א did not lō יַֽעֲלוּ֙ come up ya·‘ă·lū אֶל־ to ’el- מִזְבַּ֥ח the altar miz·baḥ יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh בִּירוּשָׁלִָ֑ם in Jerusalem , bî·rū·šā·lim כִּ֛י - kî אִם־ - ’im- אָכְל֥וּ they ate ’ā·ḵə·lū מַצּ֖וֹת unleavened bread maṣ·ṣō·wṯ בְּת֥וֹךְ with bə·ṯō·wḵ אֲחֵיהֶֽם׃ their fellow priests . ’ă·ḥê·hem 2 Kings 23:10 וְטִמֵּ֣א He also desecrated wə·ṭim·mê אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַתֹּ֔פֶת Topheth hat·tō·p̄eṯ אֲשֶׁ֖ר - ’ă·šer בְּגֵ֣י in the Valley of Ben-hinnom bə·ḡê בְנֵי . . . ḇə·nē הִנֹּ֑ם . . . hin·nōm לְבִלְתִּ֗י so that no lə·ḇil·tî אִ֜ישׁ one ’îš אֶת־ - ’eṯ- לְהַעֲבִ֨יר could sacrifice lə·ha·‘ă·ḇîr בְּנ֧וֹ his son bə·nōw וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- בִּתּ֛וֹ or daughter bit·tōw בָּאֵ֖שׁ in the fire bā·’êš לַמֹּֽלֶךְ׃ to Molech . lam·mō·leḵ
