אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הֵסִ֤יר has removed , hê·sîr וַיֹּ֤אמֶר saying way·yō·mer לִֽיהוּדָה֙ to Judah lî·hū·ḏāh וְלִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם and Jerusalem : wə·lî·rū·šā·lim תִּֽשְׁתַּחֲו֖וּ ‘ You must worship tiš·ta·ḥă·wū לִפְנֵי֙ before lip̄·nê הַזֶּ֔ה this haz·zeh הַמִּזְבֵּ֣חַ altar ham·miz·bê·aḥ בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ in Jerusalem ’? bî·rū·šā·lim 2 Kings 18:23 וְעַתָּה֙ Now, therefore , wə·‘at·tāh הִתְעָ֣רֶב make a bargain hiṯ·‘ā·reḇ נָ֔א . . . nā אֶת־ with ’eṯ- אֲדֹנִ֖י my master , ’ă·ḏō·nî אֶת־ . . . ’eṯ- מֶ֣לֶךְ the king me·leḵ אַשּׁ֑וּר of Assyria . ’aš·šūr וְאֶתְּנָ֤ה I will give wə·’et·tə·nāh לְךָ֙ you lə·ḵā אַלְפַּ֣יִם two thousand ’al·pa·yim סוּסִ֔ים horses — sū·sîm אִם־ if ’im- תּוּכַ֕ל you can tū·ḵal לָ֥תֶת put lā·ṯeṯ לְךָ֖ lə·ḵā רֹכְבִ֥ים riders rō·ḵə·ḇîm עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ on them ! ‘ă·lê·hem 2 Kings 18:24 וְאֵ֣יךְ For how wə·’êḵ תָּשִׁ֗יב can you repel tā·šîḇ אֵ֠ת - ’êṯ פְּנֵ֨י - pə·nê אַחַ֛ד a single ’a·ḥaḏ פַחַ֥ת officer p̄a·ḥaṯ הַקְּטַנִּ֑ים among the least haq·qə·ṭan·nîm אֲדֹנִ֖י of my master’s ’ă·ḏō·nî עַבְדֵ֥י servants ‘aḇ·ḏê וַתִּבְטַ֤ח when you depend wat·tiḇ·ṭaḥ לְךָ֙ . . . lə·ḵā עַל־ on ‘al- מִצְרַ֔יִם Egypt miṣ·ra·yim לְרֶ֖כֶב for chariots lə·re·ḵeḇ וּלְפָרָשִֽׁים׃ and horsemen ? ū·lə·p̄ā·rā·šîm 2 Kings 18:25 עַתָּה֙ So now , ‘at·tāh הֲמִבַּלְעֲדֵ֣י was it apart from hă·mib·bal·‘ă·ḏê יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh עָלִ֛יתִי that I have come up ‘ā·lî·ṯî עַל־ against ‘al- הַזֶּ֖ה this haz·zeh הַמָּק֥וֹם place ham·mā·qō·wm לְהַשְׁחִת֑וֹ to destroy it ? lə·haš·ḥi·ṯōw יְהוָה֙ YHWH Himself Yah·weh אָמַ֣ר said ’ā·mar אֵלַ֔י to me , ’ê·lay עֲלֵ֛ה ‘ Go up ‘ă·lêh עַל־ against ‘al- הַזֹּ֖את this haz·zōṯ הָאָ֥רֶץ land hā·’ā·reṣ וְהַשְׁחִיתָֽהּ׃ and destroy it . ’” wə·haš·ḥî·ṯāh 2 Kings 18:26 אֶלְיָקִ֣ים Then Eliakim ’el·yā·qîm בֶּן־ son ben- חִ֠לְקִיָּהוּ of Hilkiah , ḥil·qî·yā·hū וְשֶׁבְנָ֨ה along with Shebnah wə·šeḇ·nāh וְיוֹאָ֜ח and Joah , wə·yō·w·’āḥ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- רַב־ vvv raḇ- שָׁקֵ֗ה the Rabshakeh , šā·qêh נָ֤א “ Please nā דַּבֶּר־ speak dab·ber- אֶל־ to ’el- עֲבָדֶ֙יךָ֙ your servants ‘ă·ḇā·ḏe·ḵā אֲרָמִ֔ית in Aramaic , ’ă·rā·mîṯ כִּ֥י since kî אֲנָ֑חְנוּ we ’ă·nā·ḥə·nū שֹׁמְעִ֖ים understand it . šō·mə·‘îm וְאַל־ Do not wə·’al- תְּדַבֵּ֤ר speak tə·ḏab·bêr עִמָּ֙נוּ֙ with us ‘im·mā·nū יְהוּדִ֔ית in Hebrew yə·hū·ḏîṯ בְּאָזְנֵ֣י in the hearing bə·’ā·zə·nê הָעָ֔ם of the people hā·‘ām אֲשֶׁ֖ר - ’ă·šer עַל־ on ‘al- הַחֹמָֽה׃ the wall . ” ha·ḥō·māh
