2 Kings 15:38 יוֹתָם֙ And Jotham yō·w·ṯām וַיִּשְׁכַּ֤ב rested way·yiš·kaḇ עִם־ with ‘im- אֲבֹתָ֔יו his fathers ’ă·ḇō·ṯāw וַיִּקָּבֵר֙ and was buried way·yiq·qā·ḇêr עִם־ with ‘im- אֲבֹתָ֔יו [them] ’ă·ḇō·ṯāw בְּעִ֖יר in the City bə·‘îr דָּוִ֣ד of David dā·wiḏ אָבִ֑יו his father . ’ā·ḇîw בְּנ֖וֹ And his son bə·nōw אָחָ֥ז Ahaz ’ā·ḥāz וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ reigned way·yim·lōḵ תַּחְתָּֽיו׃פ in his place . taḥ·tāw 2 Kings 16:1 שְׁבַֽע־ In the seventeenth šə·ḇa‘- עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה . . . ‘eś·rêh שָׁנָ֔ה . . . šā·nāh בִּשְׁנַת֙ year biš·naṯ לְפֶ֖קַח of Pekah lə·p̄e·qaḥ בֶּן־ son ben- רְמַלְיָ֑הוּ of Remaliah , rə·mal·yā·hū אָחָ֥ז Ahaz ’ā·ḥāz בֶּן־ son ben- יוֹתָ֖ם of Jotham yō·w·ṯām מָלַ֛ךְ became king mā·laḵ מֶ֥לֶךְ . . . me·leḵ יְהוּדָֽה׃ of Judah . yə·hū·ḏāh 2 Kings 16:2 אָחָ֣ז Ahaz ’ā·ḥāz עֶשְׂרִ֤ים was twenty ‘eś·rîm בֶּן־ years old ben- שָׁנָה֙ . . . šā·nāh בְּמָלְכ֔וֹ when he became king , bə·mā·lə·ḵōw מָלַ֖ךְ and he reigned mā·laḵ בִּירוּשָׁלִָ֑ם in Jerusalem bî·rū·šā·lim וְשֵׁשׁ־ sixteen wə·šêš- עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה . . . ‘eś·rêh שָׁנָ֔ה years . šā·nāh כְּדָוִ֥ד And unlike David kə·ḏā·wiḏ אָבִֽיו׃ his father , ’ā·ḇîw וְלֹא־ he did not wə·lō- עָשָׂ֣ה do ‘ā·śāh הַיָּשָׁ֗ר [what was] right hay·yā·šār בְּעֵינֵ֛י in the eyes bə·‘ê·nê יְהוָ֥ה of YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהָ֖יו his God . ’ĕ·lō·hāw 2 Kings 16:3 וַיֵּ֕לֶךְ Instead, he walked way·yê·leḵ בְּדֶ֖רֶךְ in the ways bə·ḏe·reḵ מַלְכֵ֣י of the kings mal·ḵê יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl וְגַ֤ם and even wə·ḡam אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הֶעֱבִ֣יר sacrificed he·‘ĕ·ḇîr בְּנוֹ֙ his son bə·nōw בָּאֵ֔שׁ in the fire , bā·’êš כְּתֹֽעֲבוֹת֙ according to the abominations kə·ṯō·‘ă·ḇō·wṯ הַגּוֹיִ֔ם of the nations hag·gō·w·yim אֲשֶׁ֨ר that ’ă·šer יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh אֹתָ֔ם ’ō·ṯām הוֹרִ֤ישׁ had driven out hō·w·rîš מִפְּנֵ֖י before mip·pə·nê בְּנֵ֥י the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ . . . . yiś·rā·’êl 2 Kings 16:4 וַיְזַבֵּ֧חַ And he sacrificed way·zab·bê·aḥ וַיְקַטֵּ֛ר and burned incense way·qaṭ·ṭêr בַּבָּמ֖וֹת on the high places , bab·bā·mō·wṯ וְעַל־ on wə·‘al- הַגְּבָע֑וֹת the hills , hag·gə·ḇā·‘ō·wṯ וְתַ֖חַת and under wə·ṯa·ḥaṯ כָּל־ every kāl- רַעֲנָֽן׃ green ra·‘ă·nān עֵ֥ץ tree . ‘êṣ 2 Kings 16:5 אָ֣ז Then ’āz רְצִ֣ין Rezin rə·ṣîn מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- אֲ֠רָם of Aram ’ă·rām וּפֶ֨קַח and Pekah ū·p̄e·qaḥ בֶּן־ son ben- רְמַלְיָ֧הוּ of Remaliah rə·mal·yā·hū מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl יַעֲלֶ֣ה came up ya·‘ă·leh לַמִּלְחָמָ֑ה to wage war lam·mil·ḥā·māh יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם against Jerusalem . yə·rū·šā·lim
