2 Kings 9:14 יֵה֛וּא Thus Jehu yê·hū בֶּן־ son ben- יְהוֹשָׁפָ֥ט of Jehoshaphat , yə·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ בֶּן־ the son ben- נִמְשִׁ֖י of Nimshi , nim·šî וַיִּתְקַשֵּׁ֗ר conspired way·yiṯ·qaš·šêr אֶל־ against ’el- יוֹרָ֑ם Joram . yō·w·rām וְיוֹרָם֩ ( Now Joram wə·yō·w·rām וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל Israel yiś·rā·’êl הָיָ֨ה had been hā·yāh ה֚וּא - hū שֹׁמֵ֜ר defending šō·mêr בְּרָמֹ֣ת Ramoth-gilead bə·rā·mōṯ גִּלְעָ֗ד . . . gil·‘āḏ מִפְּנֵ֥י against mip·pə·nê חֲזָאֵ֖ל Hazael ḥă·zā·’êl מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- אֲרָֽם׃ of Aram , ’ă·rām 2 Kings 9:15 הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ but King ham·me·leḵ יְהוֹרָ֨ם Joram yə·hō·w·rām וַיָּשָׁב֩ had returned way·yā·šāḇ בִיְזְרְעֶ֗אל to Jezreel ḇiy·zə·rə·‘el לְהִתְרַפֵּ֣א to recover lə·hiṯ·rap·pê מִן־ from min- הַמַּכִּים֙ the wounds ham·mak·kîm אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer יַכֻּ֣הוּ he had suffered yak·ku·hū אֲרַמִּ֔ים [at the hands] of the Arameans ’ă·ram·mîm בְּהִלָּ֣חֲמ֔וֹ in the battle bə·hil·lā·ḥă·mōw אֶת־ against ’eṯ- חֲזָאֵ֖ל Hazael ḥă·zā·’êl מֶ֣לֶךְ their king me·leḵ אֲרָ֑ם . . . . ) ’ă·rām יֵהוּא֙ So Jehu yê·hū וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said , way·yō·mer אִם־ “ If ’im- יֵ֣שׁ . . . yêš נַפְשְׁכֶ֔ם you commanders wish to make me king , nap̄·šə·ḵem אַל־ then do not ’al- יֵצֵ֤א let anyone yê·ṣê פָלִיט֙ escape p̄ā·lîṭ מִן־ from min- הָעִ֔יר the city hā·‘îr לָלֶ֖כֶת to go lā·le·ḵeṯ לַגִּיד and tell [it] lag·gīḏ בְּיִזְרְעֶֽאל׃ in Jezreel . ” bə·yiz·rə·‘el 2 Kings 9:16 יֵהוּא֙ Then Jehu yê·hū וַיִּרְכַּ֤ב got into his chariot way·yir·kaḇ וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ and went way·yê·leḵ יִזְרְעֶ֔אלָה to Jezreel , yiz·rə·‘e·lāh כִּ֥י because kî יוֹרָ֖ם Joram yō·w·rām שֹׁכֵ֣ב was laid up šō·ḵêḇ שָׁ֑מָּה there šām·māh וַֽאֲחַזְיָה֙ and Ahaziah wa·’ă·ḥaz·yāh מֶ֣לֶךְ king me·leḵ יְהוּדָ֔ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh יָרַ֖ד had gone down yā·raḏ לִרְא֥וֹת to see lir·’ō·wṯ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יוֹרָֽם׃ [him] . yō·w·rām 2 Kings 9:17 וְהַצֹּפֶה֩ Now the watchman wə·haṣ·ṣō·p̄eh עֹמֵ֨ד standing ‘ō·mêḏ עַֽל־ on ‘al- הַמִּגְדָּ֜ל the tower ham·miḡ·dāl בְּיִזְרְעֶ֗אל in Jezreel bə·yiz·rə·‘el וַיַּ֞רְא saw way·yar אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יֵהוּא֙ Jehu’s yê·hū שִׁפְעַ֤ת troops šip̄·‘aṯ בְּבֹא֔וֹ approaching , bə·ḇō·’ōw וַיֹּ֕אמֶר and he called out , way·yō·mer אֲנִ֣י “ I ’ă·nî רֹאֶ֑ה see rō·’eh שִׁפְעַ֖ת a company of [troops] ! ” šip̄·‘aṯ קַ֥ח “ Choose qaḥ רַכָּ֛ב a rider , ” rak·kāḇ יְהוֹרָ֗ם Joram yə·hō·w·rām וַיֹּ֣אמֶר commanded . way·yō·mer וּֽשְׁלַ֥ח “ Send him out ū·šə·laḥ לִקְרָאתָ֖ם to meet them liq·rā·ṯām וְיֹאמַ֥ר and ask , wə·yō·mar הֲשָׁלֽוֹם׃ ‘ Have you come in peace ? ’” hă·šā·lō·wm
