אַחְאָ֑ב of Ahab ’aḥ·’āḇ וְאָבַ֖ד will perish , wə·’ā·ḇaḏ וְהִכְרַתִּ֤י and I will cut off wə·hiḵ·rat·tî לְאַחְאָב֙ from Ahab lə·’aḥ·’āḇ מַשְׁתִּ֣ין every male maš·tîn בְּקִ֔יר . . . , bə·qîr וְעָצ֥וּר both slave wə·‘ā·ṣūr וְעָז֖וּב and free , wə·‘ā·zūḇ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ in Israel . bə·yiś·rā·’êl 2 Kings 9:9 וְנָֽתַתִּי֙ I will make wə·nā·ṯat·tî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בֵּ֣ית the house bêṯ אַחְאָ֔ב of Ahab ’aḥ·’āḇ כְּבֵ֖ית like the houses kə·ḇêṯ יָרָבְעָ֣ם of Jeroboam yā·rā·ḇə·‘ām בֶּן־ son ben- נְבָ֑ט of Nebat nə·ḇāṭ וּכְבֵ֖ית [and] ū·ḵə·ḇêṯ בַּעְשָׁ֥א Baasha ba‘·šā בֶן־ son ḇen- אֲחִיָּֽה׃ of Ahijah . ’ă·ḥî·yāh 2 Kings 9:10 וְאֶת־ And wə·’eṯ- בְּחֵ֥לֶק on the plot [of ground] bə·ḥê·leq יִזְרְעֶ֖אל at Jezreel yiz·rə·‘el הַכְּלָבִ֛ים the dogs hak·kə·lā·ḇîm יֹאכְל֧וּ will devour yō·ḵə·lū אִיזֶ֜בֶל Jezebel , ’î·ze·ḇel וְאֵ֣ין and [there will be] no one wə·’ên קֹבֵ֑ר to bury [her] . ’” qō·ḇêr וַיִּפְתַּ֥ח Then the young prophet opened way·yip̄·taḥ הַדֶּ֖לֶת the door had·de·leṯ וַיָּנֹֽס׃ and ran . way·yā·nōs 2 Kings 9:11 וְיֵה֗וּא When Jehu wə·yê·hū יָצָא֙ went out yā·ṣā אֶל־ to ’el- עַבְדֵ֣י the servants ‘aḇ·ḏê אֲדֹנָ֔יו of his master , ’ă·ḏō·nāw וַיֹּ֤אמֶר they asked way·yō·mer לוֹ֙ , lōw הֲשָׁל֔וֹם “ Is everything all right ? hă·šā·lō·wm מַדּ֛וּעַ Why mad·dū·a‘ הַזֶּ֖ה did this haz·zeh הַמְשֻׁגָּ֥ע madman ham·šug·gā‘ בָּֽא־ come bā- אֵלֶ֑יךָ to you ? ” ’ê·le·ḵā אַתֶּ֛ם “ You ’at·tem יְדַעְתֶּ֥ם know yə·ḏa‘·tem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאִ֖ישׁ his kind hā·’îš וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- שִׂיחֽוֹ׃ and their babble , ” śî·ḥōw וַיֹּ֣אמֶר he replied way·yō·mer אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם . . . . ’ă·lê·hem 2 Kings 9:12 שֶׁ֔קֶר “ That is a lie ! ” še·qer וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ they said . way·yō·mə·rū הַגֶּד־ “ Tell hag·geḏ- לָ֑נוּ us lā·nū נָ֖א now ! ” nā וַיֹּ֗אמֶר So Jehu answered , way·yō·mer אָמַ֤ר “ He talked ’ā·mar אֵלַי֙ to me ’ê·lay כָּזֹ֤את about this kā·zōṯ וְכָזֹאת֙ and that , wə·ḵā·zōṯ לֵאמֹ֔ר and he said , lê·mōr כֹּ֚ה ‘ This is what kōh יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַ֣ר says : ’ā·mar מְשַׁחְתִּ֥יךָֽ I anoint mə·šaḥ·tî·ḵā לְמֶ֖לֶךְ you king lə·me·leḵ אֶל־ over ’el- יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Israel . ’” yiś·rā·’êl 2 Kings 9:13 וַֽיְמַהֲר֗וּ Quickly , way·ma·hă·rū אִ֣ישׁ each man ’îš וַיִּקְחוּ֙ took way·yiq·ḥū בִּגְד֔וֹ his garment biḡ·ḏōw וַיָּשִׂ֥ימוּ and put [it] way·yā·śî·mū תַחְתָּ֖יו under [Jehu] ṯaḥ·tāw אֶל־ on ’el- גֶּ֣רֶם the bare ge·rem הַֽמַּעֲל֑וֹת steps . ham·ma·‘ă·lō·wṯ וַֽיִּתְקְעוּ֙ Then they blew way·yiṯ·qə·‘ū בַּשּׁוֹפָ֔ר the ram’s horn baš·šō·w·p̄ār וַיֹּאמְר֖וּ and proclaimed , way·yō·mə·rū יֵהֽוּא׃ “ Jehu yê·hū מָלַ֥ךְ is king ! ” mā·laḵ
