2 Kings 9:18 רֹכֵ֨ב So a horseman rō·ḵêḇ הַסּ֜וּס . . . has·sūs וַיֵּלֶךְ֩ rode off way·yê·leḵ לִקְרָאת֗וֹ to meet Jehu liq·rā·ṯōw וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ and said , way·yō·mer כֹּֽה־ “ This is what kōh- הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ the king ham·me·leḵ אָמַ֤ר asks : ’ā·mar הֲשָׁל֔וֹם ‘ Have you come in peace ? ’” hă·šā·lō·wm מַה־ “ What mah- לְּךָ֥ do you lə·ḵā וּלְשָׁל֖וֹם know about peace ? ” ū·lə·šā·lō·wm יֵה֛וּא Jehu yê·hū וַיֹּ֧אמֶר replied . way·yō·mer סֹ֣ב “ Fall in sōḇ אֶֽל־ . . . ’el- אַחֲרָ֑י behind me . ” ’a·ḥă·rāy הַצֹּפֶה֙ And the watchman haṣ·ṣō·p̄eh לֵאמֹ֔ר . . . lê·mōr וַיַּגֵּ֤ד reported , way·yag·gêḏ הַמַּלְאָ֥ךְ “ The messenger ham·mal·’āḵ בָּֽא־ reached bā- עַד־ . . . ‘aḏ- הֵ֖ם them , hêm וְלֹֽא־ but he is not wə·lō- שָֽׁב׃ coming back . ” šāḇ 2 Kings 9:19 וַיִּשְׁלַ֗ח So [the king] sent out way·yiš·laḥ שֵׁנִי֒ a second šê·nî רֹכֵ֣ב horseman rō·ḵêḇ סוּס֮ . . . , sūs וַיָּבֹ֣א who went way·yā·ḇō אֲלֵהֶ֔ם to them ’ă·lê·hem וַיֹּ֛אמֶר and said , way·yō·mer כֹּֽה־ “ This is what kōh- הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ אָמַ֥ר asks : ’ā·mar שָׁל֑וֹם ‘ Have you come in peace ? ’” šā·lō·wm מַה־ “ What mah- לְּךָ֥ do you lə·ḵā וּלְשָׁל֖וֹם know about peace ? ” ū·lə·šā·lō·wm יֵה֛וּא Jehu yê·hū וַיֹּ֧אמֶר replied . way·yō·mer סֹ֥ב “ Fall in sōḇ אֶֽל־ . . . ’el- אַחֲרָֽי׃ behind me . ” ’a·ḥă·rāy 2 Kings 9:20 הַצֹּפֶה֙ Again the watchman haṣ·ṣō·p̄eh לֵאמֹ֔ר . . . lê·mōr וַיַּגֵּ֤ד reported , way·yag·gêḏ בָּ֥א “ He reached bā עַד־ . . . ‘aḏ- אֲלֵיהֶ֖ם them , ’ă·lê·hem וְלֹֽא־ but he is not wə·lō- שָׁ֑ב coming back . šāḇ וְהַמִּנְהָ֗ג And the charioteer wə·ham·min·hāḡ כְּמִנְהַג֙ is driving like kə·min·haḡ יֵה֣וּא Jehu yê·hū בֶן־ son ḇen- נִמְשִׁ֔י of Nimshi — nim·šî כִּ֥י . . . kî יִנְהָֽג׃ he is driving yin·hāḡ בְשִׁגָּע֖וֹן like a madman ! ” ḇə·šig·gā·‘ō·wn 2 Kings 9:21 אֱסֹ֔ר “ Harness ! ” ’ĕ·sōr יְהוֹרָם֙ Joram yə·hō·w·rām וַיֹּ֤אמֶר shouted , way·yō·mer וַיֶּאְסֹ֖ר and they harnessed way·ye’·sōr רִכְבּ֑וֹ his chariot . riḵ·bōw יְהוֹרָ֣ם Then Joram yə·hō·w·rām מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- יִ֠שְׂרָאֵל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַאֲחַזְיָ֨הוּ and Ahaziah wa·’ă·ḥaz·yā·hū מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- יְהוּדָ֜ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh וַיֵּצֵ֣א set out , way·yê·ṣê אִ֣ישׁ each ’îš בְּרִכְבּ֗וֹ in his own chariot , bə·riḵ·bōw וַיֵּֽצְאוּ֙ and met way·yê·ṣə·’ū לִקְרַ֣את . . . liq·raṯ יֵה֔וּא Jehu yê·hū וַיִּמְצָאֻ֔הוּ . . . way·yim·ṣā·’u·hū בְּחֶלְקַ֖ת on the property bə·ḥel·qaṯ נָב֥וֹת of Naboth nā·ḇō·wṯ הַיִּזְרְעֵאלִֽי׃ the Jezreelite . hay·yiz·rə·‘ê·lî 2 Kings 9:22 וַיְהִ֗י - way·hî יְהוֹרָם֙ When Joram yə·hō·w·rām אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כִּרְא֤וֹת saw kir·’ō·wṯ יֵה֔וּא Jehu , yê·hū וַיֹּ֖אמֶר he asked , way·yō·mer
