הֲשָׁל֣וֹם “ Have you come in peace , hă·šā·lō·wm יֵה֑וּא Jehu ? ” yê·hū מָ֣ה “ How māh עַד־ can there be ‘aḏ- הַשָּׁל֔וֹם peace , ” haš·šā·lō·wm וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ he replied , way·yō·mer הָרַבִּֽים׃ “ as long as hā·rab·bîm זְנוּנֵ֞י the idolatry zə·nū·nê וּכְשָׁפֶ֖יהָ and witchcraft ū·ḵə·šā·p̄e·hā אִמְּךָ֛ of your mother ’im·mə·ḵā אִיזֶ֧בֶל Jezebel abound ? ” ’î·ze·ḇel 2 Kings 9:23 יְהוֹרָ֛ם Joram yə·hō·w·rām יָדָ֖יו . . . yā·ḏāw וַיַּהֲפֹ֧ךְ turned around way·ya·hă·p̄ōḵ וַיָּנֹ֑ס and fled , way·yā·nōs וַיֹּ֥אמֶר calling out way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- אֲחַזְיָ֖הוּ Ahaziah , ’ă·ḥaz·yā·hū מִרְמָ֥ה “ Treachery , mir·māh אֲחַזְיָֽה׃ Ahaziah ! ” ’ă·ḥaz·yāh 2 Kings 9:24 וְיֵה֞וּא Then Jehu wə·yê·hū מִלֵּ֧א drew mil·lê יָד֣וֹ . . . yā·ḏōw בַקֶּ֗שֶׁת his bow ḇaq·qe·šeṯ וַיַּ֤ךְ and shot way·yaḵ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוֹרָם֙ Joram yə·hō·w·rām בֵּ֣ין between bên זְרֹעָ֔יו the shoulders . zə·rō·‘āw הַחֵ֖צִי The arrow ha·ḥê·ṣî וַיֵּצֵ֥א pierced way·yê·ṣê מִלִּבּ֑וֹ his heart , mil·lib·bōw וַיִּכְרַ֖ע and he slumped down way·yiḵ·ra‘ בְּרִכְבּֽוֹ׃ in his chariot . bə·riḵ·bōw 2 Kings 9:25 וַיֹּ֗אמֶר And [Jehu] said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- בִּדְקַר֙ Bidkar biḏ·qar שְׁלֹשָׁה his officer , šə·lō·šå̄h שָׂ֚א “ Pick him up śā הַשְׁלִכֵ֔הוּ [and] throw him haš·li·ḵê·hū בְּחֶלְקַ֕ת vvv bə·ḥel·qaṯ שְׂדֵ֖ה into the field śə·ḏêh נָב֣וֹת of Naboth nā·ḇō·wṯ הַיִּזְרְעֵאלִ֑י the Jezreelite . hay·yiz·rə·‘ê·lî כִּֽי־ For kî- זְכֹ֞ר remember that zə·ḵōr וָאַ֗תָּה when you wā·’at·tāh אֵ֣ת - ’êṯ אֲנִ֣י and I ’ă·nî רֹכְבִ֤ים were riding rō·ḵə·ḇîm צְמָדִים֙ together ṣə·mā·ḏîm אַֽחֲרֵי֙ behind ’a·ḥă·rê אָבִ֔יו his father ’ā·ḇîw אַחְאָ֣ב Ahab , ’aḥ·’āḇ וַֽיהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh נָשָׂ֣א lifted up nā·śā הַזֶּֽה׃ this haz·zeh הַמַּשָּׂ֖א burden ham·maś·śā עָלָ֔יו against him : ‘ā·lāw אֶת־ - ’eṯ- 2 Kings 9:26 אִם־ ‘ As surely ’im- לֹ֡א . . . lō אֶת־ - ’eṯ- רָאִ֤יתִי as I saw rā·’î·ṯî דְּמֵ֣י the blood də·mê נָבוֹת֩ of Naboth nā·ḇō·wṯ וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- דְּמֵ֨י and the blood də·mê בָנָ֜יו of his sons ḇā·nāw אֶ֙מֶשׁ֙ yesterday , ’e·meš נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָ֔ה YHWH , Yah·weh וְשִׁלַּמְתִּ֥י so will I repay wə·šil·lam·tî לְךָ֛ you lə·ḵā הַזֹּ֖את on this haz·zōṯ בַּחֶלְקָ֥ה plot of ground , ba·ḥel·qāh נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָ֑ה YHWH . ’ Yah·weh וְעַתָּ֗ה Now then , wə·‘at·tāh כִּדְבַ֥ר according to the word kiḏ·ḇar יְהוָֽה׃ of YHWH , Yah·weh שָׂ֧א pick him up śā הַשְׁלִכֵ֛הוּ [and] throw him haš·li·ḵê·hū בַּחֶלְקָ֖ה on the plot [of ground] . ” ba·ḥel·qāh 2 Kings 9:27 מֶֽלֶךְ־ When King me·leḵ-
