כָּעֵ֤ת׀ ‘ About this time kā·‘êṯ מָחָר֙ tomorrow mā·ḥār בְּשַׁ֥עַר at the gate bə·ša·‘ar שֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃ of Samaria , šō·mə·rō·wn סְאָֽה־ a seah sə·’āh- סֹ֣לֶת of fine flour sō·leṯ בְּשֶׁ֗קֶל [will sell] for a shekel , bə·še·qel וְסָאתַ֧יִם and two seahs wə·sā·ṯa·yim שְׂעֹרִ֛ים of barley śə·‘ō·rîm בְּשֶׁ֖קֶל will sell for a shekel . ’” bə·še·qel 2 Kings 7:2 הַשָּׁלִ֡ישׁ But the officer haš·šā·lîš אֲשֶׁר־ ’ă·šer- עַל־ on ‘al- יָד֜וֹ whose arm yā·ḏōw לַמֶּלֶךְ֩ the king lam·me·leḵ נִשְׁעָ֨ן leaned niš·‘ān אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיַּ֣עַן answered way·ya·‘an אִ֣ישׁ the man ’îš הָאֱלֹהִים֮ of God , hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm וַיֹּאמַר֒ way·yō·mar הִנֵּ֣ה “ Look , hin·nêh יְהוָ֗ה even if YHWH Yah·weh עֹשֶׂ֤ה were to make ‘ō·śeh אֲרֻבּוֹת֙ windows ’ă·rub·bō·wṯ בַּשָּׁמַ֔יִם in heaven , baš·šā·ma·yim הַזֶּ֑ה could this haz·zeh הֲיִהְיֶ֖ה really happen ? ” hă·yih·yeh הַדָּבָ֣ר - had·dā·ḇār רֹאֶה֙ “ You will see [it] rō·’eh בְּעֵינֶ֔יךָ with your own eyes , ” bə·‘ê·ne·ḵā וַיֹּ֗אמֶר replied [Elisha] , way·yō·mer הִנְּכָ֤ה . . . hin·nə·ḵāh לֹ֥א “ vvv lō תֹאכֵֽל׃ס but you will not eat ṯō·ḵêl וּמִשָּׁ֖ם any of it . ” ū·miš·šām 2 Kings 7:3 הָי֥וּ Now there were hā·yū וְאַרְבָּעָ֧ה four wə·’ar·bā·‘āh אֲנָשִׁ֛ים men ’ă·nā·šîm מְצֹרָעִ֖ים with leprosy mə·ṣō·rā·‘îm פֶּ֣תַח at the entrance pe·ṯaḥ הַשָּׁ֑עַר of the city gate , haš·šā·‘ar וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ and they said way·yō·mə·rū אֶל־ to ’el- אִ֣ישׁ one ’îš רֵעֵ֔הוּ another , rê·‘ê·hū מָ֗ה “ Why māh אֲנַ֛חְנוּ . . . ’ă·naḥ·nū יֹשְׁבִ֥ים just sit yō·šə·ḇîm פֹּ֖ה here pōh עַד־ until ‘aḏ- מָֽתְנוּ׃ we die ? mā·ṯə·nū 2 Kings 7:4 אִם־ If ’im- אָמַרְנוּ֩ we say , ’ā·mar·nū נָב֨וֹא ‘ Let us go into nā·ḇō·w הָעִ֜יר the city , ’ hā·‘îr וָמַ֣תְנוּ we will die wā·maṯ·nū שָׁ֔ם there šām וְהָרָעָ֤ב from the famine wə·hā·rā·‘āḇ בָּעִיר֙ in the city ; bā·‘îr וְאִם־ but if wə·’im- יָשַׁ֥בְנוּ we sit yā·šaḇ·nū פֹ֖ה here , p̄ōh וָמָ֑תְנוּ we will also die . wā·mā·ṯə·nū לְכוּ֙ So come lə·ḵū וְעַתָּ֗ה now , wə·‘at·tāh וְנִפְּלָה֙ let us go over wə·nip·pə·lāh אֶל־ to ’el- מַחֲנֵ֣ה the camp ma·ḥă·nêh אֲרָ֔ם of the Arameans . ’ă·rām אִם־ If ’im- נִֽחְיֶ֔ה they let us live , niḥ·yeh יְחַיֻּ֣נוּ we will live ; yə·ḥay·yu·nū וְאִם־ if wə·’im- יְמִיתֻ֖נוּ they kill us , yə·mî·ṯu·nū וָמָֽתְנוּ׃ we will die . ” wā·mā·ṯə·nū 2 Kings 7:5 וַיָּק֣וּמוּ So they arose way·yā·qū·mū בַנֶּ֔שֶׁף at twilight ḇan·ne·šep̄ וַיָּבֹ֗אוּ and went way·yā·ḇō·’ū אֶל־ to ’el- מַחֲנֵ֣ה the camp ma·ḥă·nêh אֲרָ֑ם of the Arameans . ’ă·rām לָב֖וֹא But when they came lā·ḇō·w עַד־ to ‘aḏ- קְצֵה֙ the outskirts qə·ṣêh מַחֲנֵ֣ה of the camp ma·ḥă·nêh אֲרָ֔ם . . . , ’ă·rām אֵֽין־ there was not ’ên-
