הַסֵּ֤פֶר letter has·sê·p̄er כְּב֨וֹא kə·ḇō·w הִנֵּ֨ה hin·nêh שָׁלַ֤חְתִּי I am sending šā·laḥ·tî אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ - ’ê·le·ḵā אֶת־ ’eṯ- עַבְדִּ֔י my servant ‘aḇ·dî נַעֲמָ֣ן Naaman , na·‘ă·mān וַאֲסַפְתּ֖וֹ so that you may cure him wa·’ă·sap̄·tōw מִצָּרַעְתּֽוֹ׃ of his leprosy . ” miṣ·ṣā·ra‘·tōw 2 Kings 5:7 וַיְהִ֡י - way·hî מֶֽלֶךְ־ When the king me·leḵ- יִשְׂרָאֵ֨ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כִּקְרֹא֩ read kiq·rō הַסֵּ֜פֶר the letter , has·sê·p̄er וַיִּקְרַ֣ע he tore way·yiq·ra‘ בְּגָדָ֗יו his clothes bə·ḡā·ḏāw וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ and asked , way·yō·mer אָ֙נִי֙ “ Am I ’ā·nî הַאֱלֹהִ֥ים God , ha·’ĕ·lō·hîm לְהָמִ֣ית killing lə·hā·mîṯ וּֽלְהַחֲי֔וֹת and giving life , ū·lə·ha·ḥă·yō·wṯ כִּֽי־ that kî- זֶה֙ this [man] zeh שֹׁלֵ֣חַ expects šō·lê·aḥ אֵלַ֔י me ’ê·lay לֶאֱסֹ֥ף to cure le·’ĕ·sōp̄ אִ֖ישׁ vvv ’îš מִצָּֽרַעְתּ֑וֹ a leper ? miṣ·ṣā·ra‘·tōw כִּ֤י kî אַךְ־ - ’aḵ- דְּעֽוּ־ Surely you can də·‘ū- נָא֙ . . . nā וּרְא֔וּ see ū·rə·’ū כִּֽי־ that kî- ה֖וּא he hū מִתְאַנֶּ֥ה is seeking a quarrel miṯ·’an·neh לִֽי׃ with me ! ” lî 2 Kings 5:8 וַיְהִ֞י Now way·hî אֱלִישָׁ֣ע when Elisha ’ĕ·lî·šā‘ אִישׁ־ the man ’îš- הָאֱלֹהִ֗ים of God hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm כִּשְׁמֹ֣עַ׀ heard kiš·mō·a‘ כִּֽי־ that kî- מֶֽלֶךְ־ the king me·leḵ- יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ of Israel yiś·rā·’êl אֶת־ - ’eṯ- קָרַ֤ע had torn qā·ra‘ בְּגָדָ֔יו his clothes , bə·ḡā·ḏāw וַיִּשְׁלַח֙ he sent way·yiš·laḥ אֶל־ a message to ’el- הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ לֵאמֹ֔ר . . . : lê·mōr לָ֥מָּה “ Why lām·māh קָרַ֖עְתָּ have you torn qā·ra‘·tā בְּגָדֶ֑יךָ your clothes ? bə·ḡā·ḏe·ḵā נָ֣א Please nā יָבֹֽא־ let [the man] come yā·ḇō- אֵלַ֔י to me , ’ê·lay וְיֵדַ֕ע and he will know wə·yê·ḏa‘ כִּ֛י that kî יֵ֥שׁ there is yêš נָבִ֖יא a prophet nā·ḇî בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ in Israel . ” bə·yiś·rā·’êl 2 Kings 5:9 נַעֲמָ֖ן So Naaman na·‘ă·mān וַיָּבֹ֥א came way·yā·ḇō בְּסוּסוֹ with his horses bə·sū·sō וּבְרִכְבּ֑וֹ and chariots ū·ḇə·riḵ·bōw וַיַּעֲמֹ֥ד and stood way·ya·‘ă·mōḏ פֶּֽתַח־ at the door pe·ṯaḥ- לֶאֱלִישָֽׁע׃ of Elisha’s le·’ĕ·lî·šā‘ הַבַּ֖יִת house . hab·ba·yiṯ 2 Kings 5:10 אֱלִישָׁ֖ע Then Elisha ’ĕ·lî·šā‘ וַיִּשְׁלַ֥ח sent way·yiš·laḥ אֵלָ֛יו him ’ê·lāw מַלְאָ֣ךְ a messenger , mal·’āḵ לֵאמֹ֑ר who said , lê·mōr הָל֗וֹךְ “ Go hā·lō·wḵ וְרָחַצְתָּ֤ and wash yourself wə·rā·ḥaṣ·tā שֶֽׁבַע־ seven še·ḇa‘- פְּעָמִים֙ times pə·‘ā·mîm בַּיַּרְדֵּ֔ן in the Jordan , bay·yar·dên בְּשָׂרְךָ֛ and your flesh bə·śā·rə·ḵā לְךָ֖ lə·ḵā וְיָשֹׁ֧ב will be restored , wə·yā·šōḇ וּטְהָֽר׃ and you will be clean . ” ū·ṭə·hār
