הָיָ֣ה was hā·yāh גָּד֨וֹל a great gā·ḏō·wl אִישׁ֩ man ’îš אֲדֹנָיו֙ in his master’s ’ă·ḏō·nāw לִפְנֵ֤י sight lip̄·nê וּנְשֻׂ֣א and highly regarded ū·nə·śu פָנִ֔ים . . . , p̄ā·nîm כִּֽי־ for kî- ב֛וֹ through him ḇōw יְהוָ֥ה YHWH Yah·weh נָֽתַן־ had given nā·ṯan- תְּשׁוּעָ֖ה victory tə·šū·‘āh לַאֲרָ֑ם to Aram . la·’ă·rām הָיָ֛ה And he was hā·yāh גִּבּ֥וֹר a mighty gib·bō·wr וְהָאִ֗ישׁ man wə·hā·’îš חַ֖יִל of valor , ḥa·yil מְצֹרָֽע׃ [but he was] a leper . mə·ṣō·rā‘ 2 Kings 5:2 וַאֲרָם֙ At this time the Arameans wa·’ă·rām יָצְא֣וּ had gone yā·ṣə·’ū גְדוּדִ֔ים out in bands ḡə·ḏū·ḏîm וַיִּשְׁבּ֛וּ and had taken way·yiš·bū קְטַנָּ֑ה a young qə·ṭan·nāh נַעֲרָ֣ה girl na·‘ă·rāh מֵאֶ֥רֶץ from the land mê·’e·reṣ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl וַתְּהִ֕י and she was serving wat·tə·hî לִפְנֵ֖י . . . lip̄·nê נַעֲמָֽן׃ Naaman’s na·‘ă·mān אֵ֥שֶׁת wife . ’ê·šeṯ 2 Kings 5:3 וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙ She said wat·tō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- גְּבִרְתָּ֔הּ her mistress , gə·ḇir·tāh אַחֲלֵ֣י “ If only ’a·ḥă·lê אֲדֹנִ֔י my master ’ă·ḏō·nî לִפְנֵ֥י vvv lip̄·nê הַנָּבִ֖יא would go to the prophet han·nā·ḇî אֲשֶׁ֣ר who ’ă·šer בְּשֹׁמְר֑וֹן is in Samaria , bə·šō·mə·rō·wn אָ֛ז - ’āz יֶאֱסֹ֥ף he would cure ye·’ĕ·sōp̄ אֹת֖וֹ him ’ō·ṯōw מִצָּרַעְתּֽוֹ׃ of his leprosy . ” miṣ·ṣā·ra‘·tōw 2 Kings 5:4 וַיָּבֹ֕א And Naaman went way·yā·ḇō וַיַּגֵּ֥ד and told way·yag·gêḏ לַאדֹנָ֖יו his master la·ḏō·nāw לֵאמֹ֑ר . . . lê·mōr כָּזֹ֤את what kā·zōṯ וְכָזֹאת֙ . . . wə·ḵā·zōṯ הַֽנַּעֲרָ֔ה the girl han·na·‘ă·rāh אֲשֶׁ֖ר - ’ă·šer מֵאֶ֥רֶץ from the land mê·’e·reṣ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel yiś·rā·’êl דִּבְּרָ֣ה had said . dib·bə·rāh 2 Kings 5:5 לֶךְ־ “ Go now leḵ- בֹּ֔א . . . , ” bō וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said way·yō·mer מֶֽלֶךְ־ the king me·leḵ- אֲרָם֙ of Aram , ’ă·rām וְאֶשְׁלְחָ֥ה “ and I will send you with wə·’eš·lə·ḥāh סֵ֖פֶר a letter sê·p̄er אֶל־ to ’el- מֶ֣לֶךְ the king me·leḵ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel . ” yiś·rā·’êl וַיֵּלֶךְ֩ So [Naaman] departed , way·yê·leḵ וַיִּקַּ֨ח taking way·yiq·qaḥ בְּיָד֜וֹ with him bə·yā·ḏōw עֶ֣שֶׂר ten ‘e·śer כִּכְּרֵי־ talents kik·kə·rê- כֶ֗סֶף of silver , ḵe·sep̄ וְשֵׁ֤שֶׁת six wə·šê·šeṯ אֲלָפִים֙ thousand [shekels] ’ă·lā·p̄îm זָהָ֔ב of gold , zā·hāḇ וְעֶ֖שֶׂר and ten wə·‘e·śer חֲלִיפ֥וֹת sets ḥă·lî·p̄ō·wṯ בְּגָדִֽים׃ of clothing . bə·ḡā·ḏîm 2 Kings 5:6 הַסֵּ֔פֶר And the letter has·sê·p̄er וַיָּבֵ֣א that he took way·yā·ḇê אֶל־ to ’el- מֶ֥לֶךְ the king me·leḵ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl לֵאמֹ֑ר stated : lê·mōr וְעַתָּ֗ה “ With wə·‘at·tāh הַזֶּה֙ this haz·zeh אֵלֶ֔יךָ . . . ’ê·le·ḵā
