כָּעֵ֣ת the next year kā·‘êṯ חַיָּ֔ה . . . ḥay·yāh וַתֵּ֣לֶד she gave birth to wat·tê·leḏ בֵּ֑ן a son , bên אֲשֶׁר־ just as ’ă·šer- אֱלִישָֽׁע׃ Elisha ’ĕ·lî·šā‘ דִּבֶּ֥ר had told dib·ber אֵלֶ֖יהָ her . ’ê·le·hā 2 Kings 4:18 וַיְהִ֣י And way·hî הַיָּ֑לֶד the child hay·yā·leḏ וַיִּגְדַּ֖ל grew , way·yiḡ·dal הַיּ֔וֹם and one day hay·yō·wm וַיֵּצֵ֥א he went out way·yê·ṣê אֶל־ to ’el- אָבִ֖יו his father , ’ā·ḇîw אֶל־ who was with ’el- הַקֹּצְרִֽים׃ the harvesters . haq·qō·ṣə·rîm 2 Kings 4:19 רֹאשִׁ֣י׀ “ My head ! rō·šî רֹאשִׁ֑י My head ! ” rō·šî וַיֹּ֥אמֶר he complained way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- אָבִ֖יו his father . ’ā·ḇîw וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ So his father told way·yō·mer הַנַּ֔עַר a servant , han·na·‘ar שָׂאֵ֖הוּ “ Carry him śā·’ê·hū אֶל־ . . . ’el- אֶל־ to ’el- אִמּֽוֹ׃ his mother . ” ’im·mōw 2 Kings 4:20 וַיִּשָּׂאֵ֔הוּ After [the servant] had picked him up way·yiś·śā·’ê·hū וַיְבִיאֵ֖הוּ and carried him way·ḇî·’ê·hū אֶל־ to ’el- אִמּ֑וֹ his mother , ’im·mōw וַיֵּ֧שֶׁב [the boy] sat way·yê·šeḇ עַל־ on ‘al- בִּרְכֶּ֛יהָ her lap bir·ke·hā עַד־ until ‘aḏ- הַֽצָּהֳרַ֖יִם noon , haṣ·ṣā·ho·ra·yim וַיָּמֹֽת׃ and then he died . way·yā·mōṯ 2 Kings 4:21 וַתַּ֙עַל֙ And she went up wat·ta·‘al וַתַּשְׁכִּבֵ֔הוּ and laid him wat·taš·ki·ḇê·hū עַל־ on ‘al- מִטַּ֖ת the bed miṭ·ṭaṯ אִ֣ישׁ of the man ’îš הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים of God . hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm וַתִּסְגֹּ֥ר Then she shut [the door] wat·tis·gōr בַּעֲד֖וֹ . . . ba·‘ă·ḏōw וַתֵּצֵֽא׃ and went out . wat·tê·ṣê 2 Kings 4:22 וַתִּקְרָא֮ And the woman called wat·tiq·rā אֶל־ . . . ’el- אִישָׁהּ֒ her husband ’î·šāh וַתֹּ֗אמֶר and said , wat·tō·mer נָ֥א “ Please nā שִׁלְחָ֨ה send šil·ḥāh לִי֙ me lî אֶחָ֣ד one ’e·ḥāḏ מִן־ of min- הַנְּעָרִ֔ים the servants han·nə·‘ā·rîm וְאַחַ֖ת and one wə·’a·ḥaṯ הָאֲתֹנ֑וֹת of the donkeys , hā·’ă·ṯō·nō·wṯ וְאָר֛וּצָה that I may go quickly wə·’ā·rū·ṣāh עַד־ to ‘aḏ- אִ֥ישׁ the man ’îš הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים of God hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm וְאָשֽׁוּבָה׃ and return . ” wə·’ā·šū·ḇāh 2 Kings 4:23 מַ֠דּוּעַ “ Why mad·dū·a‘ אַתִּי would you ʾat·tī הֹלַכְתִּי go hō·laḵ·tī אֵלָיו֙ to him ’ê·lāw הַיּ֔וֹם today ? ” hay·yō·wm וַיֹּ֗אמֶר he replied . way·yō·mer לֹֽא־ “ It is not lō- חֹ֖דֶשׁ a New Moon ḥō·ḏeš וְלֹ֣א [or] wə·lō שַׁבָּ֑ת a Sabbath . ” šab·bāṯ שָׁלֽוֹם׃ “ Everything is all right , ” šā·lō·wm וַתֹּ֖אמֶר she said . wat·tō·mer 2 Kings 4:24 וַֽתַּחֲבֹשׁ֙ Then she saddled wat·ta·ḥă·ḇōš הָֽאָת֔וֹן the donkey hā·’ā·ṯō·wn וַתֹּ֥אמֶר and told wat·tō·mer
