לִּ֣י . . . lî וָלָ֔ךְ with [each other] ? wā·lāḵ לֵ֚ךְ Go lêḵ אֶל־ to ’el- נְבִיאֵ֣י the prophets nə·ḇî·’ê אָבִ֔יךָ of your father ’ā·ḇî·ḵā וְאֶל־ and wə·’el- נְבִיאֵ֖י . . . nə·ḇî·’ê אִמֶּ֑ךָ of your mother ! ” ’im·me·ḵā אַ֗ל “ No , ” ’al וַיֹּ֤אמֶר replied way·yō·mer לוֹ֙ lōw מֶ֣לֶךְ the king me·leḵ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl כִּֽי־ “ for kî- יְהוָה֙ it is YHWH Yah·weh קָרָ֤א who has summoned qā·rā הָאֵ֔לֶּה these hā·’êl·leh לִשְׁלֹ֙שֶׁת֙ three liš·lō·šeṯ הַמְּלָכִ֣ים kings ham·mə·lā·ḵîm לָתֵ֥ת to deliver lā·ṯêṯ אוֹתָ֖ם them ’ō·w·ṯām בְּיַד־ into the hand bə·yaḏ- מוֹאָֽב׃ of Moab . ” mō·w·’āḇ 2 Kings 3:14 אֱלִישָׁ֗ע Then Elisha ’ĕ·lî·šā‘ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said , way·yō·mer יְהוָ֤ה “ As surely as YHWH Yah·weh צְבָאוֹת֙ of Hosts ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ חַי־ lives , ḥay- לְפָנָ֔יו before lə·p̄ā·nāw אֲשֶׁ֣ר whom ’ă·šer עָמַ֣דְתִּי I stand ‘ā·maḏ·tî כִּ֗י - , kî לוּלֵ֛י were it not lū·lê אֲנִ֣י vvv ’ă·nî נֹשֵׂ֑א for my regard nō·śê פְּנֵ֛י for the presence pə·nê יְהוֹשָׁפָ֥ט of Jehoshaphat yə·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- יְהוּדָ֖ה of Judah , yə·hū·ḏāh אִם־ I would not ’im- אַבִּ֥יט look ’ab·bîṭ אֵלֶ֖יךָ at you ’ê·le·ḵā וְאִם־ or wə·’im- אֶרְאֶֽךָּ׃ acknowledge you . ’er·’e·kā 2 Kings 3:15 וְעַתָּ֖ה But now , wə·‘at·tāh קְחוּ־ bring qə·ḥū- לִ֣י me lî מְנַגֵּ֑ן a harpist . ” mə·nag·gên וְהָיָה֙ And while wə·hā·yāh הַֽמְנַגֵּ֔ן the harpist ham·nag·gên כְּנַגֵּ֣ן played , kə·nag·gên יַד־ the hand yaḏ- יְהוָֽה׃ of YHWH Yah·weh וַתְּהִ֥י came wat·tə·hî עָלָ֖יו upon Elisha ‘ā·lāw 2 Kings 3:16 וַיֹּ֕אמֶר and he said , way·yō·mer כֹּ֖ה “ This is what kōh יְהוָ֑ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַ֣ר says : ’ā·mar עָשֹׂ֛ה ‘ Dig ‘ā·śōh הַזֶּ֖ה this haz·zeh הַנַּ֥חַל valley han·na·ḥal גֵּבִ֥ים׀ vvv gê·ḇîm גֵּבִֽים׃ full of ditches . ’ gê·ḇîm 2 Kings 3:17 כִּֽי־ For kî- כֹ֣ה׀ . . . ḵōh יְהוָ֗ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַ֣ר says , ’ā·mar לֹֽא־ ‘ You will not lō- תִרְא֥וּ see ṯir·’ū ר֙וּחַ֙ wind rū·aḥ וְלֹֽא־ . . . wə·lō- תִרְא֣וּ . . . ṯir·’ū גֶ֔שֶׁם or rain , ḡe·šem הַה֖וּא but the ha·hū וְהַנַּ֥חַל valley wə·han·na·ḥal יִמָּ֣לֵא will be filled yim·mā·lê מָ֑יִם with water , mā·yim וּשְׁתִיתֶ֛ם and you will drink — ū·šə·ṯî·ṯem אַתֶּ֥ם you ’at·tem וּמִקְנֵיכֶ֖ם and your cattle ū·miq·nê·ḵem וּֽבְהֶמְתְּכֶֽם׃ and your animals . ’ ū·ḇə·hem·tə·ḵem 2 Kings 3:18 זֹ֖את This zōṯ וְנָקַ֥ל is a simple matter wə·nā·qal
