אֵי־ “ Which ’ê- זֶ֥ה zeh הַדֶּ֖רֶךְ way had·de·reḵ נַעֲלֶ֑ה shall we go up ? ” na·‘ă·leh דֶּ֖רֶךְ “ By way de·reḵ מִדְבַּ֥ר of the Desert miḏ·bar אֱדֽוֹם׃ of Edom , ” ’ĕ·ḏō·wm וַיֹּ֕אמֶר replied Joram . way·yō·mer 2 Kings 3:9 מֶ֨לֶךְ So the king me·leḵ יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl וּמֶֽלֶך־ the king ū·me·leḵ- יְהוּדָה֙ of Judah , yə·hū·ḏå̄h וּמֶ֣לֶךְ and the king ū·me·leḵ אֱד֔וֹם of Edom ’ĕ·ḏō·wm וַיֵּלֶךְ֩ set out , way·yê·leḵ וַיָּסֹ֕בּוּ and after they had traveled a roundabout way·yā·sōb·bū דֶּ֖רֶךְ route de·reḵ שִׁבְעַ֣ת for seven šiḇ·‘aṯ יָמִ֑ים days , yā·mîm וְלֹא־ they had no wə·lō- הָיָ֨ה . . . hā·yāh מַ֧יִם water ma·yim לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֛ה for their army lam·ma·ḥă·neh אֲשֶׁ֥ר or for their ’ă·šer בְּרַגְלֵיהֶֽם׃ . . . bə·raḡ·lê·hem וְלַבְּהֵמָ֖ה animals . wə·lab·bə·hê·māh 2 Kings 3:10 אֲהָ֕הּ “ Alas , ” ’ă·hāh וַיֹּ֖אמֶר said way·yō·mer מֶ֣לֶךְ the king me·leḵ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl כִּֽי־ “ for kî- יְהוָ֗ה YHWH Yah·weh קָרָ֣א has summoned qā·rā הָאֵ֔לֶּה these hā·’êl·leh לִשְׁלֹ֙שֶׁת֙ three liš·lō·šeṯ הַמְּלָכִ֣ים kings ham·mə·lā·ḵîm לָתֵ֥ת to deliver lā·ṯêṯ אוֹתָ֖ם them ’ō·w·ṯām בְּיַד־ into the hand bə·yaḏ- מוֹאָֽב׃ of Moab ! ” mō·w·’āḇ 2 Kings 3:11 יְהוֹשָׁפָ֗ט But Jehoshaphat yə·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר asked , way·yō·mer הַאֵ֨ין “ Is there no ha·’ên נָבִיא֙ prophet nā·ḇî לַֽיהוָ֔ה of YHWH Yah·weh פֹּ֤ה here ? pōh וְנִדְרְשָׁ֥ה Let us inquire wə·niḏ·rə·šāh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh מֵאוֹת֑וֹ through him . ” mê·’ō·w·ṯōw אֶחָ֞ד And one ’e·ḥāḏ מֵעַבְדֵ֤י of the servants mê·‘aḇ·ḏê מֶֽלֶךְ־ of the king me·leḵ- יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ of Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַיֹּ֔אמֶר . . . way·yō·mer וַ֠יַּעַן answered , way·ya·‘an אֱלִישָׁ֣ע “ Elisha ’ĕ·lî·šā‘ בֶּן־ son ben- שָׁפָ֔ט of Shaphat šā·p̄āṭ פֹּ֚ה is here . pōh אֲשֶׁר־ [He] ’ă·šer- יָ֥צַק used to pour yā·ṣaq מַ֖יִם water ma·yim עַל־ on ‘al- יְדֵ֥י the hands yə·ḏê אֵלִיָּֽהוּ׃ of Elijah . ” ’ê·lî·yā·hū 2 Kings 3:12 יְה֣וֹשָׁפָ֔ט Jehoshaphat yə·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ affirmed , way·yō·mer דְּבַר־ “ The word də·ḇar- יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH Yah·weh יֵ֥שׁ is yêš אוֹת֖וֹ with him . ” ’ō·w·ṯōw מֶ֧לֶךְ So the king me·leḵ יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl וִיהוֹשָׁפָ֖ט and Jehoshaphat wî·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ וּמֶ֥לֶךְ and the king ū·me·leḵ אֱדֽוֹם׃ of Edom ’ĕ·ḏō·wm וַיֵּרְד֣וּ went down way·yê·rə·ḏū אֵלָ֗יו to him . ’ê·lāw 2 Kings 3:13 אֱלִישָׁ֜ע Elisha, however , ’ĕ·lî·šā‘ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- מֶ֤לֶךְ the king me·leḵ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl מַה־ “ What have we to do mah-
