וַיָּלֹ֤קּוּ licked up way·yā·lōq·qū דָּמ֔וֹ [Ahab’s] blood , dā·mōw כִּדְבַ֥ר according to the word kiḏ·ḇar יְהוָ֖ה that YHWH Yah·weh אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer דִּבֵּֽר׃ had spoken . dib·bêr 1 Kings 22:39 וְיֶתֶר֩ As for the rest wə·ye·ṯer דִּבְרֵ֨י of the acts diḇ·rê אַחְאָ֜ב of Ahab , ’aḥ·’āḇ וְכָל־ along with all wə·ḵāl אֲשֶׁ֣ר his accomplishments ’ă·šer עָשָׂ֗ה . . . ‘ā·śāh הַשֵּׁן֙ and the ivory haš·šên אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer וּבֵ֤ית palace ū·ḇêṯ בָּנָ֔ה - bā·nāh וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl הֶעָרִ֖ים the cities he·‘ā·rîm אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer בָּנָ֑ה he built , bā·nāh הֵ֣ם [are] they hêm הֲלֽוֹא־ not hă·lō·w- כְּתוּבִ֗ים written kə·ṯū·ḇîm עַל־ in ‘al- סֵ֛פֶר the Book sê·p̄er דִּבְרֵ֥י of the Chronicles diḇ·rê הַיָּמִ֖ים . . . hay·yā·mîm לְמַלְכֵ֥י of the Kings lə·mal·ḵê יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel ? yiś·rā·’êl 1 Kings 22:40 אַחְאָ֖ב And Ahab ’aḥ·’āḇ וַיִּשְׁכַּ֥ב rested way·yiš·kaḇ עִם־ with ‘im- אֲבֹתָ֑יו his fathers , ’ă·ḇō·ṯāw בְנ֖וֹ and his son ḇə·nōw אֲחַזְיָ֥הוּ Ahaziah ’ă·ḥaz·yā·hū וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ reigned way·yim·lōḵ תַּחְתָּֽיו׃פ in his place . taḥ·tāw 1 Kings 22:41 אַרְבַּ֔ע In the fourth ’ar·ba‘ בִּשְׁנַ֣ת year biš·naṯ לְאַחְאָ֖ב of Ahab’s lə·’aḥ·’āḇ מֶ֥לֶךְ reign me·leḵ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ over Israel , yiś·rā·’êl וִיהֽוֹשָׁפָט֙ Jehoshaphat wî·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ בֶּן־ son ben- אָסָ֔א of Asa ’ā·sā מָלַ֖ךְ became king mā·laḵ עַל־ of ‘al- יְהוּדָ֑ה Judah . yə·hū·ḏāh 1 Kings 22:42 יְהוֹשָׁפָ֗ט Jehoshaphat yə·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ שְׁלֹשִׁ֨ים was thirty-five šə·lō·šîm וְחָמֵ֤שׁ . . . wə·ḥā·mêš שָׁנָה֙ years šā·nāh בֶּן־ old ben- בְּמָלְכ֔וֹ when he became king , bə·mā·lə·ḵōw מָלַ֖ךְ and he reigned mā·laḵ בִּירוּשָׁלִָ֑ם in Jerusalem bî·rū·šā·lim וְעֶשְׂרִ֤ים twenty-five wə·‘eś·rîm וְחָמֵשׁ֙ . . . wə·ḥā·mêš שָׁנָ֔ה years . šā·nāh אִמּ֔וֹ His mother’s ’im·mōw וְשֵׁ֣ם name wə·šêm עֲזוּבָ֖ה was Azubah ‘ă·zū·ḇāh בַּת־ daughter baṯ- שִׁלְחִֽי׃ of Shilhi . šil·ḥî 1 Kings 22:43 וַיֵּ֗לֶךְ And [Jehoshaphat] walked way·yê·leḵ בְּכָל־ in all bə·ḵāl דֶּ֛רֶךְ the ways de·reḵ אָבִ֖יו of his father ’ā·ḇîw אָסָ֥א Asa ; ’ā·sā לֹא־ he did not lō- סָ֣ר turn away sār מִמֶּ֑נּוּ from them , mim·men·nū לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת but did la·‘ă·śō·wṯ הַיָּשָׁ֖ר what was right hay·yā·šār בְּעֵינֵ֥י in the eyes bə·‘ê·nê יְהוָֽה׃ of YHWH . Yah·weh הַבָּמ֖וֹת The high places , hab·bā·mō·wṯ אַ֥ךְ however , ’aḵ לֹֽא־ were not lō- סָ֑רוּ removed ; sā·rū הָעָ֛ם the people hā·‘ām ע֥וֹד still ‘ō·wḏ מְזַבְּחִ֥ים sacrificed mə·zab·bə·ḥîm וּֽמְקַטְּרִ֖ים and burned incense ū·mə·qaṭ·ṭə·rîm בַּבָּמֽוֹת׃ on the high places . bab·bā·mō·wṯ
