אִ֣ישׁ all ’îš הַמְּלָכִים֙ the kings ham·mə·lā·ḵîm מִמְּקֹמ֔וֹ from their positions mim·mə·qō·mōw וְשִׂ֥ים and replace them wə·śîm תַּחְתֵּיהֶֽם׃ . . . taḥ·tê·hem פַּח֖וֹת with other officers . pa·ḥō·wṯ 1 Kings 20:25 וְאַתָּ֣ה And you wə·’at·tāh תִֽמְנֶה־ must raise ṯim·neh- לְךָ֣׀ lə·ḵā חַ֡יִל an army ḥa·yil כַּחַיִל֩ like the [one] ka·ḥa·yil הַנֹּפֵ֨ל you have lost — han·nō·p̄êl מֵאוֹתָ֜ךְ - mê·’ō·w·ṯāḵ וְס֣וּס horse wə·sūs כַּסּ֣וּס׀ for horse kas·sūs וְרֶ֣כֶב and chariot wə·re·ḵeḇ כָּרֶ֗כֶב for chariot — kā·re·ḵeḇ וְנִֽלָּחֲמָ֤ה so we can fight wə·nil·lā·ḥă·māh אוֹתָם֙ [the Israelites] ’ō·w·ṯām בַּמִּישׁ֔וֹר on the plain , bam·mî·šō·wr אִם־ where we will surely ’im- לֹ֥א . . . lō נֶחֱזַ֖ק prevail ne·ḥĕ·zaq מֵהֶ֑ם . . . . ” mê·hem וַיִּשְׁמַ֥ע And [the king] approved way·yiš·ma‘ לְקֹלָ֖ם their plan lə·qō·lām וַיַּ֥עַשׂ and acted way·ya·‘aś כֵּֽן׃פ accordingly . kên 1 Kings 20:26 וַֽיְהִי֙ - way·hî לִתְשׁוּבַ֣ת In the spring liṯ·šū·ḇaṯ הַשָּׁנָ֔ה . . . , haš·šā·nāh הֲדַ֖ד Ben-hadad hă·ḏaḏ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּפְקֹ֥ד mobilized way·yip̄·qōḏ בֶּן־ ben- אֲרָ֑ם the Arameans ’ă·rām וַיַּ֣עַל and went up way·ya·‘al אֲפֵ֔קָה to Aphek ’ă·p̄ê·qāh לַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה to fight lam·mil·ḥā·māh עִם־ against ‘im- יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Israel . yiś·rā·’êl 1 Kings 20:27 וּבְנֵ֣י The Israelites ū·ḇə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl הָתְפָּקְדוּ֙ also mobilized , hā·ṯə·pā·qə·ḏū וְכָלְכְּל֔וּ gathered supplies , wə·ḵā·lə·kə·lū וַיֵּלְכ֖וּ and marched out way·yê·lə·ḵū לִקְרָאתָ֑ם to meet them . liq·rā·ṯām בְנֵֽי־ The Israelites ḇə·nê- יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl וַיַּחֲנ֨וּ camped way·ya·ḥă·nū נֶגְדָּ֗ם before them neḡ·dām כִּשְׁנֵי֙ like two kiš·nê חֲשִׂפֵ֣י small flocks ḥă·śi·p̄ê עִזִּ֔ים of goats , ‘iz·zîm וַאֲרָ֖ם while the Arameans wa·’ă·rām מִלְא֥וּ covered mil·’ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאָֽרֶץ׃ the countryside . hā·’ā·reṣ 1 Kings 20:28 אִ֣ישׁ Then the man ’îš הָאֱלֹהִ֗ים of God hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm וַיִּגַּ֞שׁ approached way·yig·gaš מֶ֣לֶךְ the king me·leḵ יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ of Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַיֹּאמֶר֮ and said way·yō·mer אֶל־ - ’el- וַיֹּ֜אמֶר , way·yō·mer כֹּֽה־ “ This is what kōh- יְהוָ֗ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַ֣ר says : ’ā·mar יַ֠עַן ‘ Because ya·‘an אֲשֶׁ֨ר - ’ă·šer אֲרָם֙ the Arameans ’ă·rām אָמְר֤וּ think ’ā·mə·rū יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֤י is a god ’ĕ·lō·hê הָרִים֙ of the hills hā·rîm וְלֹֽא־ and not wə·lō- אֱלֹהֵ֥י - ’ĕ·lō·hê עֲמָקִ֖ים of the valleys ‘ă·mā·qîm ה֑וּא . . . , hū וְ֠נָתַתִּי I will deliver wə·nā·ṯat·tî כָּל־ all kāl- הַזֶּה֙ this haz·zeh הַגָּ֤דוֹל great hag·gā·ḏō·wl הֶהָמ֨וֹן army he·hā·mō·wn אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בְּיָדֶ֔ךָ into your hand . bə·yā·ḏe·ḵā וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ם Then you will know wî·ḏa‘·tem
