1 Kings 20:4 מֶֽלֶךְ־ And the king me·leḵ- יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ of Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַיֹּ֔אמֶר . . . way·yō·mer וַיַּ֤עַן replied , way·ya·‘an כִּדְבָרְךָ֖ “ Just as you say , kiḏ·ḇā·rə·ḵā אֲדֹנִ֣י my lord ’ă·ḏō·nî הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ the king : ham·me·leḵ לְךָ֥ vvv lə·ḵā אֲנִ֖י I am yours , ’ă·nî וְכָל־ along with all wə·ḵāl אֲשֶׁר־ that ’ă·šer- לִֽי׃ I have . ” lî 1 Kings 20:5 הַמַּלְאָכִ֔ים The messengers ham·mal·’ā·ḵîm וַיָּשֻׁ֙בוּ֙ came back way·yā·šu·ḇū וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ and said , way·yō·mə·rū כֹּֽה־ “ This is what kōh- הֲדַ֖ד Ben-hadad hă·ḏaḏ אָמַ֥ר says ’ā·mar בֶּן־ : ben- שָׁלַ֤חְתִּי ‘ I have sent šā·laḥ·tî אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ to you ’ê·le·ḵā לֵאמֹ֔ר . . . lê·mōr לֵאמֹ֑ר to demand lê·mōr כִּֽי־ . . . kî- תִתֵּֽן׃ - ṯit·tên לִ֥י - lî כַּסְפְּךָ֧ your silver , kas·pə·ḵā וּזְהָבְךָ֛ your gold , ū·zə·hā·ḇə·ḵā וְנָשֶׁ֥יךָ your wives , wə·nā·še·ḵā וּבָנֶ֖יךָ and your children . ū·ḇā·ne·ḵā 1 Kings 20:6 כִּ֣י׀ But kî אִם־ about ’im- כָּעֵ֣ת this time kā·‘êṯ מָחָ֗ר tomorrow mā·ḥār אֶשְׁלַ֤ח I will send ’eš·laḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עֲבָדַי֙ my servants ‘ă·ḇā·ḏay אֵלֶ֔יךָ ’ê·le·ḵā וְחִפְּשׂוּ֙ to search wə·ḥip·pə·śū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בֵּ֣יתְךָ֔ your palace bê·ṯə·ḵā וְאֵ֖ת and wə·’êṯ בָּתֵּ֣י the houses bāt·tê עֲבָדֶ֑יךָ of your servants . ‘ă·ḇā·ḏe·ḵā יָשִׂ֥ימוּ They will seize yā·śî·mū בְיָדָ֖ם . . . ḇə·yā·ḏām וְלָקָֽחוּ׃ and carry away wə·lā·qā·ḥū כָּל־ all that kāl- וְהָיָה֙ is wə·hā·yāh מַחְמַ֣ד precious maḥ·maḏ עֵינֶ֔יךָ to you . ’” ‘ê·ne·ḵā 1 Kings 20:7 מֶֽלֶךְ־ Then the king me·leḵ- יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ of Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַיִּקְרָ֤א summoned way·yiq·rā לְכָל־ all lə·ḵāl זִקְנֵ֣י the elders ziq·nê הָאָ֔רֶץ of the land hā·’ā·reṣ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ and said , way·yō·mer נָ֣א “ Please nā דְּעֽוּ־ take note də·‘ū- וּרְא֔וּ and see ū·rə·’ū כִּ֥י that kî זֶ֣ה this [man] zeh מְבַקֵּ֑שׁ is looking for mə·ḇaq·qêš רָעָ֖ה trouble , rā·‘āh כִּֽי־ for kî- שָׁלַ֨ח when he demanded šā·laḥ אֵלַ֜י . . . ’ê·lay לְנָשַׁ֤י my wives , lə·nā·šay וּלְבָנַי֙ my children , ū·lə·ḇā·nay וּלְכַסְפִּ֣י my silver , ū·lə·ḵas·pî וְלִזְהָבִ֔י and my gold , wə·liz·hā·ḇî וְלֹ֥א I did not wə·lō מָנַ֖עְתִּי deny mā·na‘·tî מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ him . ” mim·men·nū 1 Kings 20:8 הַזְּקֵנִ֖ים And the elders haz·zə·qê·nîm וְכָל־ and wə·ḵāl הָעָ֑ם the people hā·‘ām כָּל־ all kāl- וַיֹּאמְר֥וּ said way·yō·mə·rū אֵלָ֛יו - , ’ê·lāw אַל־ “ Do not ’al- תִּשְׁמַ֖ע listen to him tiš·ma‘ וְל֥וֹא or wə·lō·w תֹאבֶֽה׃ consent to his terms . ” ṯō·ḇeh
