1 Kings 18:46 וְיַד־ And the hand wə·yaḏ- יְהוָ֗ה of YHWH Yah·weh הָֽיְתָה֙ came hā·yə·ṯāh אֶל־ upon ’el- אֵ֣לִיָּ֔הוּ Elijah , ’ê·lî·yā·hū וַיְשַׁנֵּ֖ס and he tucked his cloak way·šan·nês מָתְנָ֑יו into his belt mā·ṯə·nāw וַיָּ֙רָץ֙ and ran way·yā·rāṣ לִפְנֵ֣י ahead of lip̄·nê אַחְאָ֔ב Ahab ’aḥ·’āḇ עַד־ all the way to ‘aḏ- בֹּאֲכָ֖ה . . . bō·’ă·ḵāh יִזְרְעֶֽאלָה׃ Jezreel . yiz·rə·‘e·lāh 1 Kings 19:1 אַחְאָב֙ Now Ahab ’aḥ·’āḇ וַיַּגֵּ֤ד told way·yag·gêḏ לְאִיזֶ֔בֶל Jezebel lə·’î·ze·ḇel אֵ֛ת - ’êṯ כָּל־ everything kāl- אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer אֵלִיָּ֑הוּ Elijah ’ê·lî·yā·hū וְאֵ֨ת - wə·’êṯ עָשָׂ֖ה had done ‘ā·śāh אֲשֶׁ֥ר and how ’ă·šer הָרַ֛ג he had killed hā·raḡ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כָּל־ - kāl- כָּל־ all kāl- הַנְּבִיאִ֖ים the prophets han·nə·ḇî·’îm בֶּחָֽרֶב׃ with the sword . be·ḥā·reḇ 1 Kings 19:2 אִיזֶ֙בֶל֙ So Jezebel ’î·ze·ḇel וַתִּשְׁלַ֤ח sent wat·tiš·laḥ מַלְאָ֔ךְ a messenger mal·’āḵ אֶל־ to ’el- אֵלִיָּ֖הוּ Elijah , ’ê·lî·yā·hū לֵאמֹ֑ר saying lê·mōr כֹּֽה־ , kōh- אֱלֹהִים֙ “ May the gods ’ĕ·lō·hîm יַעֲשׂ֤וּן deal with me , ya·‘ă·śūn וְכֹ֣ה and ever so wə·ḵōh יוֹסִפ֔וּן severely , yō·w·si·p̄ūn כִּֽי־ if kî- כָעֵ֤ת by this time ḵā·‘êṯ מָחָר֙ tomorrow mā·ḥār אָשִׂ֣ים I do not make ’ā·śîm אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- נַפְשְׁךָ֔ your life nap̄·šə·ḵā כְּנֶ֖פֶשׁ like the lives kə·ne·p̄eš אַחַ֥ד of [those you killed] ’a·ḥaḏ מֵהֶֽם׃ . . . ! ” mê·hem 1 Kings 19:3 וַיַּ֗רְא And Elijah was afraid way·yar וַיָּ֙קָם֙ . . . way·yā·qām וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ and ran way·yê·leḵ אֶל־ for ’el- נַפְשׁ֔וֹ his life . nap̄·šōw וַיָּבֹ֕א When he came way·yā·ḇō בְּאֵ֥ר vvv bə·’êr שֶׁ֖בַע to Beersheba še·ḇa‘ אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer לִֽיהוּדָ֑ה in Judah , lî·hū·ḏāh וַיַּנַּ֥ח he left way·yan·naḥ אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- נַעֲר֖וֹ his servant na·‘ă·rōw שָֽׁם׃ there , šām 1 Kings 19:4 וְהֽוּא־ while he himself wə·hū- הָלַ֤ךְ traveled on hā·laḵ י֔וֹם a day’s yō·wm וַיָּבֹ֕א . . . way·yā·ḇō דֶּ֣רֶךְ journey de·reḵ בַּמִּדְבָּר֙ into the wilderness . bam·miḏ·bār וַיֵּ֕שֶׁב He sat down way·yê·šeḇ תַּ֖חַת under ta·ḥaṯ אֶחָת a ʾɛ·ḥå̄ṯ רֹ֣תֶם broom tree rō·ṯem וַיִּשְׁאַ֤ל and prayed way·yiš·’al אֶת־ - ’eṯ- נַפְשׁוֹ֙ that he nap̄·šōw לָמ֔וּת might die . lā·mūṯ רַ֗ב “ I have had enough raḇ עַתָּ֤ה . . . , ‘at·tāh יְהוָה֙ YHWH , ” Yah·weh וַיֹּ֣אמֶר׀ he said . way·yō·mer קַ֣ח “ Take qaḥ נַפְשִׁ֔י my life , nap̄·šî כִּֽי־ for kî- אָנֹכִ֖י I am ’ā·nō·ḵî לֹא־ no lō-
