מָֽיִם׃ - . mā·yim 1 Kings 18:36 וַיְהִ֣י׀ - way·hî בַּעֲל֣וֹת At the time of ba·‘ă·lō·wṯ הַמִּנְחָ֗ה the evening sacrifice , ham·min·ḥāh אֵלִיָּ֣הוּ Elijah ’ê·lî·yā·hū הַנָּבִיא֮ the prophet han·nā·ḇî וַיִּגַּ֞שׁ approached way·yig·gaš וַיֹּאמַר֒ the altar and said , way·yō·mar יְהוָ֗ה “ O YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵי֙ God ’ĕ·lō·hê אַבְרָהָם֙ of Abraham , ’aḇ·rā·hām יִצְחָ֣ק Isaac , yiṣ·ḥāq וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל and Israel , wə·yiś·rā·’êl יִוָּדַ֗ע let it be known yiw·wā·ḏa‘ הַיּ֣וֹם this day hay·yō·wm כִּֽי־ that kî- אַתָּ֧ה You ’at·tāh אֱלֹהִ֛ים are God ’ĕ·lō·hîm בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל in Israel bə·yiś·rā·’êl וַאֲנִ֣י and that I [am] wa·’ă·nî עַבְדֶּ֑ךָ Your servant ‘aḇ·de·ḵā עָשִׂ֔יתִי and have done ‘ā·śî·ṯî אֵ֥ת - ’êṯ כָּל־ all kāl- הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ these hā·’êl·leh וּבְדִבְרֶיךָ things ū·ḇə·ḏiḇ·rɛ·ḵå̄ הַדְּבָרִ֖ים at Your command . had·də·ḇā·rîm 1 Kings 18:37 עֲנֵ֤נִי Answer me , ‘ă·nê·nî יְהוָה֙ O YHWH ! Yah·weh עֲנֵ֔נִי Answer me , ‘ă·nê·nî הַזֶּ֔ה so that this haz·zeh הָעָ֣ם people hā·‘ām וְיֵֽדְעוּ֙ will know wə·yê·ḏə·‘ū כִּֽי־ that kî- אַתָּ֥ה You , ’at·tāh יְהוָ֖ה YHWH , Yah·weh הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים are God , hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm וְאַתָּ֛ה and that You wə·’at·tāh הֲסִבֹּ֥תָ have turned hă·sib·bō·ṯā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- לִבָּ֖ם their hearts lib·bām אֲחֹרַנִּֽית׃ back again . ” ’ă·ḥō·ran·nîṯ 1 Kings 18:38 אֵשׁ־ Then the fire ’êš- יְהוָ֗ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַתִּפֹּ֣ל fell wat·tip·pōl וַתֹּ֤אכַל and consumed wat·tō·ḵal אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָֽעֹלָה֙ the sacrifice , hā·‘ō·lāh וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הָ֣עֵצִ֔ים the wood , hā·‘ê·ṣîm וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הָאֲבָנִ֖ים the stones , hā·’ă·ḇā·nîm וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הֶעָפָ֑ר and the dust , he·‘ā·p̄ār וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- לִחֵֽכָה׃ and it licked up li·ḥê·ḵāh הַמַּ֥יִם the water ham·ma·yim אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- בַּתְּעָלָ֖ה in the trench . bat·tə·‘ā·lāh 1 Kings 18:39 כָּל־ When all kāl- הָעָ֔ם the people hā·‘ām וַיַּרְא֙ saw this , way·yar וַֽיִּפְּל֖וּ they fell way·yip·pə·lū עַל־ facedown ‘al- פְּנֵיהֶ֑ם . . . pə·nê·hem וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ and said , way·yō·mə·rū יְהוָה֙ “ YHWH , Yah·weh ה֣וּא He hū הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים is God ! hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm יְהוָ֖ה YHWH , Yah·weh ה֥וּא He hū הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ is God ! ” hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm 1 Kings 18:40 אֵלִיָּ֨הוּ Then Elijah ’ê·lî·yā·hū וַיֹּאמֶר֩ ordered way·yō·mer לָהֶ֜ם them , lā·hem תִּפְשׂ֣וּ׀ “ Seize tip̄·śū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- נְבִיאֵ֣י the prophets nə·ḇî·’ê הַבַּ֗עַל of Baal ! hab·ba·‘al אַל־ Do not ’al- אִ֛ישׁ let a single one ’îš יִמָּלֵ֥ט escape . ” yim·mā·lêṭ מֵהֶ֖ם . . . mê·hem וַֽיִּתְפְּשׂ֑וּם So they seized them , way·yiṯ·pə·śūm אֵלִיָּ֙הוּ֙ and Elijah ’ê·lî·yā·hū
