חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים fifty ḥă·miš·šîm אִישׁ֙ men ’îš בַּמְּעָרָ֔ה per cave , bam·mə·‘ā·rāh וְכִלְכְּלָ֖ם providing them wə·ḵil·kə·lām לֶ֥חֶם with food le·ḥem וָמָֽיִם׃ and water . ) wā·mā·yim 1 Kings 18:5 אַחְאָב֙ Then Ahab ’aḥ·’āḇ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- עֹ֣בַדְיָ֔הוּ Obadiah , ‘ō·ḇaḏ·yā·hū לֵ֤ךְ “ Go lêḵ בָּאָ֙רֶץ֙ throughout the land bā·’ā·reṣ אֶל־ to ’el- כָּל־ every kāl- מַעְיְנֵ֣י spring ma‘·yə·nê הַמַּ֔יִם - ham·ma·yim וְאֶ֖ל and wə·’el כָּל־ every kāl- הַנְּחָלִ֑ים valley . han·nə·ḥā·lîm אוּלַ֣י׀ Perhaps ’ū·lay נִמְצָ֣א we will find nim·ṣā חָצִ֗יר grass ḥā·ṣîr ס֣וּס to keep the horses sūs וָפֶ֔רֶד and mules wā·p̄e·reḏ וּנְחַיֶּה֙ alive ū·nə·ḥay·yeh וְל֥וֹא so that we will not wə·lō·w נַכְרִ֖ית have to destroy naḵ·rîṯ מֵהַבְּהֵמָֽה׃ any livestock . ” mê·hab·bə·hê·māh 1 Kings 18:6 וַֽיְחַלְּק֥וּ So they divided way·ḥal·lə·qū לָהֶ֛ם . . . lā·hem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאָ֖רֶץ the land hā·’ā·reṣ לַֽעֲבָר־ to explore la·‘ă·ḇār- בָּ֑הּ . bāh אַחְאָ֞ב Ahab ’aḥ·’āḇ הָלַ֨ךְ went hā·laḵ אֶחָד֙ one ’e·ḥāḏ בְּדֶ֤רֶךְ way bə·ḏe·reḵ לְבַדּ֔וֹ by himself , lə·ḇad·dōw וְעֹֽבַדְיָ֛הוּ and Obadiah wə·‘ō·ḇaḏ·yā·hū הָלַ֥ךְ went hā·laḵ אֶחָ֖ד the other ’e·ḥāḏ בְּדֶרֶךְ־ way bə·ḏe·reḵ- לְבַדּֽוֹ׃ by himself . lə·ḇad·dōw 1 Kings 18:7 עֹבַדְיָ֙הוּ֙ Now as Obadiah ‘ō·ḇaḏ·yā·hū וַיְהִ֤י went way·hî בַּדֶּ֔רֶךְ on [his] way , bad·de·reḵ אֵלִיָּ֖הוּ Elijah ’ê·lî·yā·hū וְהִנֵּ֥ה suddenly wə·hin·nêh לִקְרָאת֑וֹ met him . liq·rā·ṯōw וַיַּכִּרֵ֙הוּ֙ When Obadiah recognized him , way·yak·ki·rê·hū וַיִּפֹּ֣ל he fell way·yip·pōl עַל־ vvv ‘al- פָּנָ֔יו facedown pā·nāw וַיֹּ֕אמֶר and said , way·yō·mer זֶ֖ה “ Is it zeh הַאַתָּ֥ה you , ha·’at·tāh אֲדֹנִ֥י my lord ’ă·ḏō·nî אֵלִיָּֽהוּ׃ Elijah ? ” ’ê·lî·yā·hū 1 Kings 18:8 אָ֑נִי “ [It is] I , ” ’ā·nî וַיֹּ֥אמֶר he answered way·yō·mer ל֖וֹ - . lōw לֵ֛ךְ “ Go lêḵ אֱמֹ֥ר tell ’ĕ·mōr לַאדֹנֶ֖יךָ your master , la·ḏō·ne·ḵā אֵלִיָּֽהוּ׃ ‘ Elijah ’ê·lî·yā·hū הִנֵּ֥ה is here ! ’” hin·nêh 1 Kings 18:9 וַיֹּ֖אמֶר But Obadiah replied , way·yō·mer מֶ֣ה “ How meh חָטָ֑אתִי have I sinned , ḥā·ṭā·ṯî כִּֽי־ that kî- אַתָּ֞ה you ’at·tāh עַבְדְּךָ֛ are handing your servant ‘aḇ·də·ḵā נֹתֵ֧ן over to nō·ṯên אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- בְּיַד־ - bə·yaḏ- אַחְאָ֖ב Ahab ’aḥ·’āḇ לַהֲמִיתֵֽנִי׃ to put me to death ? la·hă·mî·ṯê·nî 1 Kings 18:10 יְהוָ֣ה As surely as YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֶ֗יךָ your God ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā חַ֣י׀ lives , ḥay יֶשׁ־ there is yeš-
