אֱלֹהֵ֥י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel, {to anger} yiś·rā·’êl בְּהַבְלֵיהֶֽם׃ with their worthless idols . bə·haḇ·lê·hem 1 Kings 16:14 וְיֶ֛תֶר As for the rest wə·ye·ṯer דִּבְרֵ֥י of the acts diḇ·rê אֵלָ֖ה of Elah , ’ê·lāh וְכָל־ along with all wə·ḵāl אֲשֶׁ֣ר his accomplishments ’ă·šer עָשָׂ֑ה . . . , ‘ā·śāh הֵ֣ם [are] they hêm הֲלֽוֹא־ not hă·lō·w- כְּתוּבִ֗ים written kə·ṯū·ḇîm עַל־ in ‘al- סֵ֛פֶר the Book sê·p̄er דִּבְרֵ֥י of the Chronicles diḇ·rê הַיָּמִ֖ים . . . hay·yā·mîm לְמַלְכֵ֥י of the Kings lə·mal·ḵê יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃פ of Israel ? yiś·rā·’êl 1 Kings 16:15 עֶשְׂרִ֨ים In the twenty-seventh ‘eś·rîm וָשֶׁ֜בַע . . . wā·še·ḇa‘ שָׁנָ֗ה . . . šā·nāh בִּשְׁנַת֩ year biš·naṯ לְאָסָא֙ of Asa’s lə·’ā·sā מֶ֣לֶךְ reign me·leḵ יְהוּדָ֔ה over Judah , yə·hū·ḏāh זִמְרִ֛י Zimri zim·rî מָלַ֥ךְ reigned mā·laḵ בְּתִרְצָ֑ה in Tirzah bə·ṯir·ṣāh שִׁבְעַ֥ת for seven šiḇ·‘aṯ יָמִ֖ים days . yā·mîm וְהָעָ֣ם Now the troops wə·hā·‘ām חֹנִ֔ים were encamped ḥō·nîm עַֽל־ against ‘al- גִּבְּת֖וֹן Gibbethon gib·bə·ṯō·wn אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer לַפְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃ of the Philistines , lap·pə·liš·tîm 1 Kings 16:16 הָעָם֙ and the people hā·‘ām הַחֹנִ֣ים in the camp ha·ḥō·nîm לֵאמֹ֔ר . . . lê·mōr וַיִּשְׁמַ֤ע heard way·yiš·ma‘ זִמְרִ֔י that Zimri zim·rî קָשַׁ֣ר had not only conspired qā·šar וְגַ֖ם but had also wə·ḡam הִכָּ֣ה struck down hik·kāh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ the king . ham·me·leḵ בַּֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃ So there in the camp bam·ma·ḥă·neh הַה֖וּא that very ha·hū בַּיּ֥וֹם day , bay·yō·wm כָֽל־ all ḵāl יִ֠שְׂרָאֵל Israel yiś·rā·’êl אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עָמְרִ֨י {proclaimed} Omri , ‘ā·mə·rî שַׂר־ the commander śar- צָבָ֧א of the army , ṣā·ḇā וַיַּמְלִ֣כוּ king way·yam·li·ḵū עַל־ over ‘al- יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל Israel . yiś·rā·’êl 1 Kings 16:17 עָמְרִ֛י Then Omri ‘ā·mə·rî עִמּ֖וֹ and ‘im·mōw וְכָל־ all wə·ḵāl יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל the Israelites yiś·rā·’êl וַיַּעֲלֶ֥ה marched up way·ya·‘ă·leh מִֽגִּבְּת֑וֹן from Gibbethon mig·gib·bə·ṯō·wn וַיָּצֻ֖רוּ and besieged way·yā·ṣu·rū עַל־ . . . ‘al- תִּרְצָֽה׃ Tirzah . tir·ṣāh 1 Kings 16:18 וַיְהִ֞י - way·hî זִמְרִי֙ When Zimri zim·rî כִּרְא֤וֹת saw kir·’ō·wṯ כִּֽי־ that kî- הָעִ֔יר the city hā·‘îr נִלְכְּדָ֣ה was captured , nil·kə·ḏāh וַיָּבֹ֖א he entered way·yā·ḇō אֶל־ . . . ’el- אַרְמ֣וֹן the citadel ’ar·mō·wn הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ of the royal ham·me·leḵ בֵּית־ palace bêṯ- בֵּֽית־ bêṯ- מֶ֛לֶךְ - me·leḵ וַיִּשְׂרֹ֨ף and burned it down way·yiś·rōp̄ בָּאֵ֖שׁ . . . bā·’êš עָלָ֧יו upon himself . ‘ā·lāw אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיָּמֹֽת׃ So he died way·yā·mōṯ
