1 Kings 16:24 וַיִּ֜קֶן He bought way·yi·qen אֶת־ ’eṯ- הָהָ֥ר the hill hā·hār שֹׁמְר֛וֹן of Samaria šō·mə·rō·wn מֵ֥אֶת from mê·’eṯ שֶׁ֖מֶר Shemer še·mer בְּכִכְּרַ֣יִם for two talents bə·ḵik·kə·ra·yim כָּ֑סֶף of silver kā·sep̄ וַיִּ֙בֶן֙ and built [a city] way·yi·ḇen אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָהָ֔ר [there] , hā·hār וַיִּקְרָ֗א calling way·yiq·rā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- שֵׁ֤ם - šêm הָעִיר֙ [it] hā·‘îr אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer בָּנָ֔ה - bā·nāh שֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃ Samaria šō·mə·rō·wn עַ֣ל after ‘al שֶׁם־ the name šem- שֶׁ֔מֶר of Shemer , še·mer אֲדֹנֵ֖י who had owned ’ă·ḏō·nê הָהָ֥ר the hill . hā·hār 1 Kings 16:25 עָמְרִ֛י But Omri ‘ā·mə·rî וַיַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה did way·ya·‘ă·śeh הָרַ֖ע evil hā·ra‘ בְּעֵינֵ֣י in the sight bə·‘ê·nê יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַיָּ֕רַע and acted more wickedly way·yā·ra‘ מִכֹּ֖ל than all mik·kōl אֲשֶׁ֥ר who [were] ’ă·šer לְפָנָֽיו׃ before him . lə·p̄ā·nāw 1 Kings 16:26 וַיֵּ֗לֶךְ For he walked way·yê·leḵ בְּכָל־ in all bə·ḵāl דֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ the ways de·reḵ יָרָבְעָ֣ם of Jeroboam yā·rā·ḇə·‘ām בֶּן־ son ben- נְבָ֔ט of Nebat nə·ḇāṭ וּבְחַטֹּאתָיו and in his sins , ū·ḇə·ḥaṭ·ṭō·ṯå̄w אֲשֶׁ֥ר which ’ă·šer יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל he caused Israel yiś·rā·’êl הֶחֱטִ֖יא to commit , he·ḥĕ·ṭî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- לְהַכְעִ֗יס provoking lə·haḵ·‘îs יְהוָ֛ה YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֥י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl אֶת־ {to anger} ’eṯ- בְּהַבְלֵיהֶֽם׃ with their worthless idols . bə·haḇ·lê·hem 1 Kings 16:27 וְיֶ֨תֶר As for the rest wə·ye·ṯer דִּבְרֵ֤י of the acts diḇ·rê עָמְרִי֙ of Omri , ‘ā·mə·rî אֲשֶׁ֣ר along with his accomplishments ’ă·šer עָשָׂ֔ה . . . ‘ā·śāh וּגְבוּרָת֖וֹ and the might ū·ḡə·ḇū·rā·ṯōw אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer עָשָׂ֑ה he exercised , ‘ā·śāh הֵ֣ם [are] they hêm הֲלֹֽא־ not hă·lō- כְּתוּבִ֗ים written kə·ṯū·ḇîm עַל־ in ‘al- סֵ֛פֶר the Book sê·p̄er דִּבְרֵ֥י of the Chronicles diḇ·rê הַיָּמִ֖ים . . . hay·yā·mîm לְמַלְכֵ֥י of the Kings lə·mal·ḵê יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel ? yiś·rā·’êl 1 Kings 16:28 עָמְרִי֙ And Omri ‘ā·mə·rî וַיִּשְׁכַּ֤ב rested way·yiš·kaḇ עִם־ with ‘im- אֲבֹתָ֔יו his fathers ’ă·ḇō·ṯāw וַיִּקָּבֵ֖ר and was buried way·yiq·qā·ḇêr בְּשֹׁמְר֑וֹן in Samaria , bə·šō·mə·rō·wn בְּנ֖וֹ and his son bə·nōw אַחְאָ֥ב Ahab ’aḥ·’āḇ וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ reigned way·yim·lōḵ תַּחְתָּֽיו׃פ in his place . taḥ·tāw 1 Kings 16:29 שְׁלֹשִׁ֤ים In the thirty-eighth šə·lō·šîm וּשְׁמֹנֶה֙ . . . ū·šə·mō·neh בִּשְׁנַ֨ת year biš·naṯ שָׁנָ֔ה šā·nāh לְאָסָ֖א of Asa’s lə·’ā·sā מֶ֣לֶךְ reign me·leḵ יְהוּדָ֑ה over Judah , yə·hū·ḏāh וְאַחְאָ֣ב Ahab wə·’aḥ·’āḇ בֶּן־ son ben-
