כִּדְבַ֣ר according to the word kiḏ·ḇar אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh דִּבֶּ֔ר had spoken dib·ber בְּיַ֖ד through bə·yaḏ יְהוֹשֻׁ֥עַ Joshua yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ בִּן־ son bin- נֽוּן׃ס of Nun . nūn 1 Kings 17:1 אֵלִיָּ֨הוּ Now Elijah ’ê·lî·yā·hū הַתִּשְׁבִּ֜י the Tishbite , hat·tiš·bî מִתֹּשָׁבֵ֣י who was among the settlers mit·tō·šā·ḇê גִלְעָד֮ of Gilead , ḡil·‘āḏ וַיֹּאמֶר֩ said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- אַחְאָב֒ Ahab , ’aḥ·’āḇ יְהוָ֞ה “ As surely as YHWH Yah·weh חַי־ lives — ḥay- אֱלֹהֵ֤י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ of Israel yiś·rā·’êl אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer לְפָנָ֔יו before whom lə·p̄ā·nāw עָמַ֣דְתִּי I stand — ‘ā·maḏ·tî יִהְיֶ֛ה there will be yih·yeh אִם־ neither ’im- טַ֣ל dew ṭal וּמָטָ֑ר nor rain ū·mā·ṭār הָאֵ֖לֶּה in these hā·’êl·leh הַשָּׁנִ֥ים years haš·šā·nîm כִּ֖י except kî אִם־ . . . ’im- לְפִ֥י at lə·p̄î דְבָרִֽי׃ס my word ! ” ḏə·ḇā·rî 1 Kings 17:2 דְבַר־ Then a revelation ḏə·ḇar- יְהוָ֖ה from YHWH Yah·weh וַיְהִ֥י came way·hî אֵלָ֥יו to [Elijah] ’ê·lāw לֵאמֹֽר׃ . . . : lê·mōr 1 Kings 17:3 לֵ֣ךְ “ Leave lêḵ מִזֶּ֔ה here , miz·zeh וּפָנִ֥יתָ turn ū·p̄ā·nî·ṯā לְּךָ֖ lə·ḵā קֵ֑דְמָה eastward , qê·ḏə·māh וְנִסְתַּרְתָּ֙ and hide yourself wə·nis·tar·tā בְּנַ֣חַל by the Brook bə·na·ḥal כְּרִ֔ית of Cherith , kə·rîṯ אֲשֶׁ֖ר east of ’ă·šer עַל־ . . . ‘al- פְּנֵ֥י . . . pə·nê הַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃ the Jordan . hay·yar·dên 1 Kings 17:4 וְהָיָ֖ה And wə·hā·yāh תִּשְׁתֶּ֑ה you are to drink tiš·teh וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- מֵהַנַּ֣חַל from the brook , mê·han·na·ḥal צִוִּ֔יתִי and I have commanded ṣiw·wî·ṯî הָעֹרְבִ֣ים the ravens hā·‘ō·rə·ḇîm לְכַלְכֶּלְךָ֖ to feed you lə·ḵal·kel·ḵā שָֽׁם׃ there . ” šām 1 Kings 17:5 וַיַּ֖עַשׂ So [Elijah] did way·ya·‘aś יְהוָ֑ה what YHWH Yah·weh וַיֵּ֗לֶךְ . . . way·yê·leḵ כִּדְבַ֣ר had told him , kiḏ·ḇar וַיֵּ֥לֶךְ and he went way·yê·leḵ וַיֵּ֙שֶׁב֙ and lived way·yê·šeḇ בְּנַ֣חַל by the Brook bə·na·ḥal כְּרִ֔ית of Cherith , kə·rîṯ אֲשֶׁ֖ר east of ’ă·šer עַל־ . . . ‘al- פְּנֵ֥י . . . pə·nê הַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃ the Jordan . hay·yar·dên 1 Kings 17:6 וְהָעֹרְבִ֗ים The ravens wə·hā·‘ō·rə·ḇîm מְבִיאִ֨ים would bring mə·ḇî·’îm ל֜וֹ him lōw לֶ֤חֶם bread le·ḥem וּבָשָׂר֙ and meat ū·ḇā·śār בַּבֹּ֔קֶר in the morning bab·bō·qer וְלֶ֥חֶם . . . wə·le·ḥem וּבָשָׂ֖ר . . . ū·ḇā·śār בָּעָ֑רֶב and evening , bā·‘ā·reḇ יִשְׁתֶּֽה׃ and he would drink yiš·teh וּמִן־ from ū·min- הַנַּ֖חַל the brook . han·na·ḥal
