1 Kings 17:7 וַיְהִ֛י Some time later, however way·hî מִקֵּ֥ץ . . . miq·qêṣ יָמִ֖ים . . . , yā·mîm הַנָּ֑חַל the brook han·nā·ḥal וַיִּיבַ֣שׁ dried up way·yî·ḇaš כִּ֛י because kî הָיָ֥ה there had been hā·yāh לֹֽא־ no lō- גֶ֖שֶׁם rain ḡe·šem בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ס in the land . bā·’ā·reṣ 1 Kings 17:8 דְבַר־ Then the word ḏə·ḇar- יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַיְהִ֥י came way·hî אֵלָ֥יו to [Elijah] ’ê·lāw לֵאמֹֽר׃ . . . : lê·mōr 1 Kings 17:9 ק֣וּם “ Get up qūm לֵ֤ךְ [and] go lêḵ צָרְפַ֙תָה֙ to Zarephath ṣā·rə·p̄a·ṯāh אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer לְצִיד֔וֹן of Sidon , lə·ṣî·ḏō·wn וְיָשַׁבְתָּ֖ and stay wə·yā·šaḇ·tā שָׁ֑ם there . šām הִנֵּ֨ה Behold , hin·nêh צִוִּ֥יתִי I have commanded ṣiw·wî·ṯî אִשָּׁ֥ה vvv ’iš·šāh אַלְמָנָ֖ה a widow ’al·mā·nāh שָׁ֛ם there šām לְכַלְכְּלֶֽךָ׃ to provide for you . ” lə·ḵal·kə·le·ḵā 1 Kings 17:10 וַיָּ֣קָם׀ So Elijah got up way·yā·qām וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ and went way·yê·leḵ צָרְפַ֗תָה to Zarephath . ṣā·rə·p̄a·ṯāh וַיָּבֹא֙ When he arrived way·yā·ḇō אֶל־ at ’el- הָעִ֔יר the city hā·‘îr וְהִנֵּֽה־ . . . wə·hin·nêh- פֶּ֣תַח gate , pe·ṯaḥ שָׁ֛ם there šām אַלְמָנָ֖ה was a widow ’al·mā·nāh אִשָּׁ֥ה . . . ’iš·šāh מְקֹשֶׁ֣שֶׁת gathering mə·qō·še·šeṯ עֵצִ֑ים sticks . ‘ê·ṣîm וַיִּקְרָ֤א Elijah called way·yiq·rā אֵלֶ֙יהָ֙ to her ’ê·le·hā וַיֹּאמַ֔ר and said , way·yō·mar נָ֨א “ Please nā קְחִי־ bring qə·ḥî- לִ֧י me lî מְעַט־ a little mə·‘aṭ- מַ֛יִם water ma·yim בַּכְּלִ֖י in a cup , bak·kə·lî וְאֶשְׁתֶּֽה׃ so that I may drink . ” wə·’eš·teh 1 Kings 17:11 וַתֵּ֖לֶךְ And as she was going wat·tê·leḵ לָקַ֑חַת to get [it] , lā·qa·ḥaṯ וַיִּקְרָ֤א he called way·yiq·rā אֵלֶ֙יהָ֙ to her ’ê·le·hā וַיֹּאמַ֔ר and said , way·yō·mar נָ֥א “ Please nā לִֽקְחִי־ bring liq·ḥî- לִ֛י me lî פַּת־ a piece paṯ- לֶ֖חֶם of bread le·ḥem בְּיָדֵֽךְ׃ - . ” bə·yā·ḏêḵ 1 Kings 17:12 וַתֹּ֗אמֶר But she replied , wat·tō·mer יְהוָ֤ה “ As surely as YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ your God ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā חַי־ lives , ḥay- לִ֣י I lî יֶשׁ־ have yeš- אִם־ no ’im- מָע֔וֹג bread — mā·‘ō·wḡ כִּ֣י only kî אִם־ . . . ’im- מְלֹ֤א a handful mə·lō כַף־ . . . ḵap̄- קֶ֙מַח֙ of flour qe·maḥ בַּכַּ֔ד in a jar bak·kaḏ וּמְעַט־ and a little ū·mə·‘aṭ- שֶׁ֖מֶן oil še·men בַּצַּפָּ֑חַת in a jug . baṣ·ṣap·pā·ḥaṯ וְהִנְנִ֨י Look , wə·hin·nî מְקֹשֶׁ֜שֶׁת I am gathering mə·qō·še·šeṯ שְׁנַ֣יִם a couple of šə·na·yim עֵצִ֗ים sticks ‘ê·ṣîm
