1 Kings 15:11 אָסָ֛א And Asa ’ā·sā וַיַּ֧עַשׂ did way·ya·‘aś הַיָּשָׁ֖ר what was right hay·yā·šār בְּעֵינֵ֣י in the eyes bə·‘ê·nê יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH , Yah·weh אָבִֽיו׃ as his father ’ā·ḇîw כְּדָוִ֖ד David [had done] . kə·ḏā·wiḏ 1 Kings 15:12 וַיַּעֲבֵ֥ר He banished way·ya·‘ă·ḇêr הַקְּדֵשִׁ֖ים the male shrine prostitutes haq·qə·ḏê·šîm מִן־ from min- הָאָ֑רֶץ the land hā·’ā·reṣ וַיָּ֙סַר֙ and removed way·yā·sar אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כָּל־ all kāl- הַגִּלֻּלִ֔ים the idols hag·gil·lu·lîm אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer אֲבֹתָֽיו׃ his fathers ’ă·ḇō·ṯāw עָשׂ֖וּ had made . ‘ā·śū 1 Kings 15:13 וְגַ֣ם׀ He also wə·ḡam אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיְסִרֶ֙הָ֙ removed way·si·re·hā אִמּ֗וֹ his grandmother ’im·mōw מַעֲכָ֣ה Maacah ma·‘ă·ḵāh מִגְּבִירָ֔ה from [her position as] queen mother mig·gə·ḇî·rāh אֲשֶׁר־ because ’ă·šer- עָשְׂתָ֥ה she had made ‘ā·śə·ṯāh מִפְלֶ֖צֶת a detestable mip̄·le·ṣeṯ לָאֲשֵׁרָ֑ה Asherah pole . lā·’ă·šê·rāh אָסָא֙ Asa ’ā·sā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּכְרֹ֤ת chopped down way·yiḵ·rōṯ מִפְלַצְתָּ֔הּ the pole mip̄·laṣ·tāh וַיִּשְׂרֹ֖ף and burned way·yiś·rōp̄ קִדְרֽוֹן׃ it in the Kidron qiḏ·rō·wn בְּנַ֥חַל Valley . bə·na·ḥal 1 Kings 15:14 וְהַבָּמ֖וֹת The high places wə·hab·bā·mō·wṯ לֹא־ were not lō- סָ֑רוּ removed , sā·rū רַ֣ק but raq אָסָ֗א Asa’s ’ā·sā לְבַב־ heart lə·ḇaḇ- הָיָ֥ה was hā·yāh שָׁלֵ֛ם fully devoted šā·lêm עִם־ to ‘im- יְהוָ֖ה YHWH Yah·weh כָּל־ all kāl- יָמָֽיו׃ his days . yā·māw 1 Kings 15:15 וַיָּבֵא֙ And he brought way·yā·ḇê אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בֵּ֣ית into the house bêṯ יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH Yah·weh כֶּ֥סֶף the silver ke·sep̄ וְזָהָ֖ב and gold wə·zā·hāḇ וְכֵלִֽים׃ and other articles wə·ḵê·lîm וְקָדְשׁוֹ that he wə·qå̄·ḏə·šō אָבִ֔יו and his father ’ā·ḇîw קָדְשֵׁ֣י had dedicated . qā·ḏə·šê 1 Kings 15:16 הָיְתָ֜ה Now there was hā·yə·ṯāh וּמִלְחָמָ֨ה war ū·mil·ḥā·māh בֵּ֣ין between bên אָסָ֗א Asa ’ā·sā וּבֵ֛ין . . . ū·ḇên בַּעְשָׁ֥א and Baasha ba‘·šā מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl כָּל־ throughout kāl- יְמֵיהֶֽם׃ their days . yə·mê·hem 1 Kings 15:17 בַּעְשָׁ֤א Baasha ba‘·šā מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ of Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַיַּ֨עַל went to war way·ya·‘al עַל־ against ‘al- יְהוּדָ֔ה Judah yə·hū·ḏāh וַיִּ֖בֶן and fortified way·yi·ḇen אֶת־ ’eṯ- הָרָמָ֑ה Ramah hā·rā·māh לְבִלְתִּ֗י vvv lə·ḇil·tî תֵּ֚ת to prevent têṯ יֹצֵ֣א [anyone] from leaving yō·ṣê וָבָ֔א or entering the territory of wā·ḇā
