1 Kings 14:24 הָיָ֣ה There were hā·yāh וְגַם־ even wə·ḡam- קָדֵ֖שׁ male shrine prostitutes qā·ḏêš בָאָ֑רֶץ in the land . ḇā·’ā·reṣ עָשׂ֗וּ They imitated ‘ā·śū כְּכֹל֙ all kə·ḵōl הַתּוֹעֲבֹ֣ת the abominations hat·tō·w·‘ă·ḇōṯ הַגּוֹיִ֔ם of the nations hag·gō·w·yim אֲשֶׁר֙ - ’ă·šer יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh הוֹרִ֣ישׁ had driven out hō·w·rîš מִפְּנֵ֖י before mip·pə·nê בְּנֵ֥י the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃פ . . . . yiś·rā·’êl 1 Kings 14:25 וַיְהִ֛י - way·hî הַחֲמִישִׁ֖ית In the fifth ha·ḥă·mî·šîṯ בַּשָּׁנָ֥ה year baš·šā·nāh רְחַבְעָ֑ם of Rehoboam’s rə·ḥaḇ·‘ām לַמֶּ֣לֶךְ reign , lam·me·leḵ שׁוּשַׁק Shishak šū·šaq מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- מִצְרַ֖יִם of Egypt miṣ·ra·yim עָלָ֛ה came up ‘ā·lāh עַל־ and attacked ‘al- יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ Jerusalem . yə·rū·šā·lim 1 Kings 14:26 וַיִּקַּ֞ח He seized way·yiq·qaḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֹצְר֣וֹת the treasures ’ō·ṣə·rō·wṯ בֵּית־ of the house bêṯ- יְהוָ֗ה of YHWH Yah·weh וְאֶת־ and wə·’eṯ- אֽוֹצְרוֹת֙ - ’ō·wṣ·rō·wṯ הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ of the royal ham·me·leḵ וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- בֵּ֣ית palace . bêṯ לָקָ֑ח He took lā·qāḥ הַכֹּ֖ל everything , hak·kōl וַיִּקַּח֙ including way·yiq·qaḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כָּל־ all kāl- הַזָּהָ֔ב the gold haz·zā·hāḇ מָגִנֵּ֣י shields mā·ḡin·nê אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer שְׁלֹמֹֽה׃ Solomon šə·lō·mōh עָשָׂ֖ה had made . ‘ā·śāh 1 Kings 14:27 הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ Then King ham·me·leḵ רְחַבְעָם֙ Rehoboam rə·ḥaḇ·‘ām וַיַּ֨עַשׂ made way·ya·‘aś נְחֹ֑שֶׁת bronze nə·ḥō·šeṯ מָגִנֵּ֖י shields mā·ḡin·nê תַּחְתָּ֔ם in their place taḥ·tām וְהִפְקִ֗יד and committed [them] wə·hip̄·qîḏ עַל־ to ‘al- יַד֙ the care yaḏ שָׂרֵ֣י of the captains śā·rê הָרָצִ֔ים of the guard hā·rā·ṣîm הַשֹּׁ֣מְרִ֔ים on duty haš·šō·mə·rîm פֶּ֖תַח at the entrance pe·ṯaḥ הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ to the royal ham·me·leḵ בֵּ֥ית palace . bêṯ 1 Kings 14:28 וַיְהִ֛י And way·hî מִדֵּי־ whenever mid·dê- הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ בֹ֥א entered ḇō בֵּ֣ית the house bêṯ יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH , Yah·weh הָֽרָצִ֔ים the guards hā·rā·ṣîm יִשָּׂאוּם֙ would bear the shields , yiś·śā·’ūm וֶהֱשִׁיב֖וּם and [later] they would return them we·hĕ·šî·ḇūm אֶל־ to ’el- הָרָצִֽים׃ the guardroom hā·rā·ṣîm תָּ֥א . . . . tā 1 Kings 14:29 וְיֶ֛תֶר As for the rest wə·ye·ṯer דִּבְרֵ֥י of the acts diḇ·rê רְחַבְעָ֖ם of Rehoboam , rə·ḥaḇ·‘ām וְכָל־ along with all wə·ḵāl אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer עָשָׂ֑ה he did , ‘ā·śāh הֵ֣מָּה [are] they hêm·māh הֲלֹא־ not hă·lō- כְתוּבִ֗ים written ḵə·ṯū·ḇîm עַל־ in ‘al-
