דִּבְרֵ֣י of the acts diḇ·rê יָֽרָבְעָ֔ם of Jeroboam , yā·rā·ḇə·‘ām אֲשֶׁ֥ר how ’ă·šer נִלְחַ֖ם he waged war nil·ḥam וַאֲשֶׁ֣ר and how wa·’ă·šer מָלָ֑ךְ he reigned , mā·lāḵ הִנָּ֣ם they are indeed hin·nām כְּתוּבִ֗ים written kə·ṯū·ḇîm עַל־ in ‘al- סֵ֛פֶר the Book sê·p̄er דִּבְרֵ֥י of the Chronicles diḇ·rê הַיָּמִ֖ים . . . hay·yā·mîm לְמַלְכֵ֥י of the Kings lə·mal·ḵê יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel . yiś·rā·’êl 1 Kings 14:20 וְהַיָּמִים֙ And the length wə·hay·yā·mîm אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer יָרָבְעָ֔ם of Jeroboam’s yā·rā·ḇə·‘ām מָלַ֣ךְ reign mā·laḵ עֶשְׂרִ֥ים [was] twenty-two ‘eś·rîm וּשְׁתַּ֖יִם . . . ū·šə·ta·yim שָׁנָ֑ה years , šā·nāh וַיִּשְׁכַּב֙ and he rested way·yiš·kaḇ עִם־ with ‘im- אֲבֹתָ֔יו his fathers , ’ă·ḇō·ṯāw בְּנ֖וֹ and his son bə·nōw נָדָ֥ב Nadab nā·ḏāḇ וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ reigned way·yim·lōḵ תַּחְתָּֽיו׃פ in his place . taḥ·tāw 1 Kings 14:21 וּרְחַבְעָם֙ Meanwhile, Rehoboam ū·rə·ḥaḇ·‘ām בֶּן־ son ben- שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה of Solomon šə·lō·mōh מָלַ֖ךְ reigned mā·laḵ בִּֽיהוּדָ֑ה in Judah . bî·hū·ḏāh רְחַבְעָ֨ם [He] rə·ḥaḇ·‘ām אַרְבָּעִ֣ים was forty-one ’ar·bā·‘îm וְאַחַ֣ת . . . wə·’a·ḥaṯ שָׁנָה֩ years šā·nāh בֶּן־ old ben- בְּמָלְכ֜וֹ when he became king , bə·mā·lə·ḵōw מָלַ֣ךְ and he reigned mā·laḵ וּֽשֲׁבַ֨ע seventeen ū·šă·ḇa‘ עֶשְׂרֵ֥ה . . . ‘eś·rêh שָׁנָ֣ה׀ years šā·nāh בִּירוּשָׁלִַ֗ם in Jerusalem , bî·rū·šā·lim הָ֠עִיר the city hā·‘îr יְהוָ֜ה YHWH Yah·weh בָּחַ֨ר had chosen bā·ḥar מִכֹּל֙ from all mik·kōl שִׁבְטֵ֣י the tribes šiḇ·ṭê יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl אֲשֶׁר־ in which ’ă·šer- לָשׂ֨וּם to put lā·śūm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- שְׁמ֥וֹ His Name šə·mōw שָׁם֙ . . . . šām אִמּ֔וֹ His mother’s ’im·mōw וְשֵׁ֣ם name wə·šêm נַעֲמָ֖ה was Naamah na·‘ă·māh הָעַמֹּנִֽית׃ the Ammonite . hā·‘am·mō·nîṯ 1 Kings 14:22 יְהוּדָ֛ה And Judah yə·hū·ḏāh וַיַּ֧עַשׂ did way·ya·‘aś הָרַ֖ע evil hā·ra‘ בְּעֵינֵ֣י in the sight bə·‘ê·nê יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH , Yah·weh בְּחַטֹּאתָ֖ם and by the sins bə·ḥaṭ·ṭō·ṯām חָטָֽאוּ׃ they committed ḥā·ṭā·’ū וַיְקַנְא֣וּ they provoked Him to jealous anger way·qan·’ū אֹת֗וֹ - ’ō·ṯōw מִכֹּל֙ more than all mik·kōl אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer אֲבֹתָ֔ם their fathers ’ă·ḇō·ṯām עָשׂ֣וּ had done . ‘ā·śū 1 Kings 14:23 הֵ֧מָּה They hêm·māh גַם־ also ḡam- וַיִּבְנ֨וּ built way·yiḇ·nū לָהֶ֛ם for themselves lā·hem בָּמ֥וֹת high places , bā·mō·wṯ וּמַצֵּב֖וֹת sacred pillars , ū·maṣ·ṣê·ḇō·wṯ וַאֲשֵׁרִ֑ים and Asherah poles wa·’ă·šê·rîm עַ֚ל on ‘al כָּל־ every kāl- גְבֹהָ֔ה high ḡə·ḇō·hāh גִּבְעָ֣ה hill giḇ·‘āh וְתַ֖חַת and under wə·ṯa·ḥaṯ כָּל־ every kāl- רַעֲנָֽן׃ green ra·‘ă·nān עֵ֥ץ tree . ‘êṣ
