רְחוֹקָ֖ה whether far rə·ḥō·w·qāh א֥וֹ or ’ōw קְרוֹבָֽה׃ near , qə·rō·w·ḇāh 1 Kings 8:47 וְהֵשִׁ֙יבוּ֙ and when they come wə·hê·šî·ḇū אֶל־ to ’el- לִבָּ֔ם their senses lib·bām בָּאָ֖רֶץ in the land bā·’ā·reṣ אֲשֶׁ֣ר to which ’ă·šer נִשְׁבּוּ־ they were taken , niš·bū- שָׁ֑ם . . . šām וְשָׁ֣בוּ׀ and they repent wə·šā·ḇū וְהִֽתְחַנְּנ֣וּ and plead wə·hiṯ·ḥan·nə·nū אֵלֶ֗יךָ with You ’ê·le·ḵā בְּאֶ֤רֶץ in the land bə·’e·reṣ שֹֽׁבֵיהֶם֙ of their captors , šō·ḇê·hem לֵאמֹ֔ר saying , lê·mōr חָטָ֥אנוּ ‘ We have sinned ḥā·ṭā·nū וְהֶעֱוִ֖ינוּ and done wrong ; wə·he·‘ĕ·wî·nū רָשָֽׁעְנוּ׃ we have acted wickedly , ’ rā·šā·‘ə·nū 1 Kings 8:48 וְשָׁ֣בוּ and when they return wə·šā·ḇū אֵלֶ֗יךָ to You ’ê·le·ḵā בְּכָל־ with all bə·ḵāl לְבָבָם֙ their heart lə·ḇā·ḇām וּבְכָל־ and ū·ḇə·ḵāl נַפְשָׁ֔ם soul nap̄·šām בְּאֶ֥רֶץ in the land bə·’e·reṣ אֹיְבֵיהֶ֖ם of the enemies ’ō·yə·ḇê·hem אֲשֶׁר־ who ’ă·šer- שָׁב֣וּ took them captive , šā·ḇū אֹתָ֑ם - ’ō·ṯām וְהִֽתְפַּֽלְל֣וּ and when they pray wə·hiṯ·pal·lū אֵלֶ֗יךָ to You ’ê·le·ḵā דֶּ֤רֶךְ in the direction de·reḵ אַרְצָם֙ of the land ’ar·ṣām אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer נָתַ֣תָּה You gave nā·ṯat·tāh לַאֲבוֹתָ֔ם to their fathers , la·’ă·ḇō·w·ṯām הָעִיר֙ the city hā·‘îr אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer בָּחַ֔רְתָּ You have chosen , bā·ḥar·tā וְהַבַּ֖יִת and the house wə·hab·ba·yiṯ אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- בָּנִיתָ I have built bå̄·nī·ṯå̄ לִשְׁמֶֽךָ׃ for Your Name , liš·me·ḵā 1 Kings 8:49 וְשָׁמַעְתָּ֤ then may You hear wə·šā·ma‘·tā הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ from heaven , haš·šā·ma·yim שִׁבְתְּךָ֔ Your dwelling šiḇ·tə·ḵā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מְכ֣וֹן place , mə·ḵō·wn תְּפִלָּתָ֖ם their prayer tə·p̄il·lā·ṯām וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- תְּחִנָּתָ֑ם and petition , tə·ḥin·nā·ṯām וְעָשִׂ֖יתָ and may You uphold wə·‘ā·śî·ṯā מִשְׁפָּטָֽם׃ their cause . miš·pā·ṭām 1 Kings 8:50 וְסָלַחְתָּ֤ May You forgive wə·sā·laḥ·tā לְעַמְּךָ֙ Your people lə·‘am·mə·ḵā אֲשֶׁ֣ר who ’ă·šer חָֽטְאוּ־ have sinned ḥā·ṭə·’ū- לָ֔ךְ against You lāḵ וּלְכָל־ and all ū·lə·ḵāl- פִּשְׁעֵיהֶ֖ם the transgressions piš·‘ê·hem אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer פָּשְׁעוּ־ they have committed pā·šə·‘ū- בָ֑ךְ against You , ḇāḵ וּנְתַתָּ֧ם and may You grant them ū·nə·ṯat·tām לְרַחֲמִ֛ים compassion lə·ra·ḥă·mîm לִפְנֵ֥י in the eyes lip̄·nê שֹׁבֵיהֶ֖ם of their captors šō·ḇê·hem וְרִֽחֲמֽוּם׃ to show them mercy . wə·ri·ḥă·mūm 1 Kings 8:51 כִּֽי־ For kî- הֵ֑ם they hêm עַמְּךָ֥ are Your people ‘am·mə·ḵā וְנַחֲלָתְךָ֖ and Your inheritance ; wə·na·ḥă·lā·ṯə·ḵā אֲשֶׁ֤ר You brought them ’ă·šer הוֹצֵ֙אתָ֙ out hō·w·ṣê·ṯā מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם of Egypt , mim·miṣ·ra·yim מִתּ֖וֹךְ out mit·tō·wḵ כּ֥וּר of the furnace kūr הַבַּרְזֶֽל׃ [for] iron . hab·bar·zel 1 Kings 8:52 עֵינֶ֤יךָ May Your eyes ‘ê·ne·ḵā לִהְי֨וֹת be lih·yō·wṯ פְתֻחוֹת֙ open p̄ə·ṯu·ḥō·wṯ
