הַֽחֲזָקָ֔ה and mighty ha·ḥă·zā·qāh יָֽדְךָ֙ hand yā·ḏə·ḵā הַנְּטוּיָ֑ה and outstretched han·nə·ṭū·yāh וּֽזְרֹעֲךָ֖ arm — ū·zə·rō·‘ă·ḵā וּבָ֥א when he comes ū·ḇā וְהִתְפַּלֵּ֖ל and prays wə·hiṯ·pal·lêl אֶל־ toward ’el- הַזֶּֽה׃ this haz·zeh הַבַּ֥יִת temple , hab·ba·yiṯ 1 Kings 8:43 אַתָּ֞ה then may You ’at·tāh תִּשְׁמַ֤ע hear tiš·ma‘ הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ from heaven , haš·šā·ma·yim שִׁבְתֶּ֔ךָ Your dwelling šiḇ·te·ḵā מְכ֣וֹן place , mə·ḵō·wn וְעָשִׂ֕יתָ and do wə·‘ā·śî·ṯā כְּכֹ֛ל according to all kə·ḵōl אֲשֶׁר־ for which ’ă·šer- הַנָּכְרִ֑י the foreigner han·nā·ḵə·rî יִקְרָ֥א calls yiq·rā אֵלֶ֖יךָ to You . ’ê·le·ḵā לְמַ֣עַן Then lə·ma·‘an כָּל־ all kāl- עַמֵּ֨י the peoples ‘am·mê הָאָ֜רֶץ of the earth hā·’ā·reṣ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יֵדְעוּן֩ will know yê·ḏə·‘ūn שְׁמֶ֗ךָ Your name šə·me·ḵā לְיִרְאָ֤ה and fear lə·yir·’āh אֹֽתְךָ֙ You , ’ō·ṯə·ḵā כְּעַמְּךָ֣ as [do] Your people kə·‘am·mə·ḵā יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל Israel , yiś·rā·’êl וְלָדַ֕עַת and they will know wə·lā·ḏa·‘aṯ כִּי־ that kî- הַזֶּ֖ה this haz·zeh אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer הַבַּ֥יִת house hab·ba·yiṯ בָּנִֽיתִי׃ I have built bā·nî·ṯî נִקְרָ֔א is called niq·rā עַל־ . . . ‘al- שִׁמְךָ֣ by Your Name . šim·ḵā 1 Kings 8:44 כִּי־ When kî- עַמְּךָ֤ Your people ‘am·mə·ḵā יֵצֵ֨א go yê·ṣê לַמִּלְחָמָה֙ to war lam·mil·ḥā·māh עַל־ against ‘al- אֹ֣יְב֔וֹ their enemies , ’ō·yə·ḇōw בַּדֶּ֖רֶךְ wherever bad·de·reḵ אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer תִּשְׁלָחֵ֑ם You send them , tiš·lā·ḥêm וְהִתְפַּֽלְל֣וּ and when they pray wə·hiṯ·pal·lū אֶל־ to ’el- יְהוָ֗ה YHWH Yah·weh דֶּ֤רֶךְ in the direction de·reḵ הָעִיר֙ of the city hā·‘îr אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer בָּחַ֣רְתָּ You have chosen bā·ḥar·tā בָּ֔הּ bāh וְהַבַּ֖יִת and the house wə·hab·ba·yiṯ אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- בָּנִ֥תִי I have built bā·ni·ṯî לִשְׁמֶֽךָ׃ for Your Name , liš·me·ḵā 1 Kings 8:45 וְשָׁמַעְתָּ֙ then may You hear wə·šā·ma‘·tā הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם from heaven haš·šā·ma·yim אֶת־ - ’eṯ- תְּפִלָּתָ֖ם their prayer tə·p̄il·lā·ṯām וְאֶת־ and wə·’eṯ- תְּחִנָּתָ֑ם their plea , tə·ḥin·nā·ṯām וְעָשִׂ֖יתָ and may You uphold wə·‘ā·śî·ṯā מִשְׁפָּטָֽם׃ their cause . miš·pā·ṭām 1 Kings 8:46 כִּ֣י When kî יֶֽחֶטְאוּ־ they sin ye·ḥeṭ·’ū- לָ֗ךְ against You — lāḵ כִּ֣י for kî אֵ֤ין there is no ’ên אָדָם֙ one ’ā·ḏām אֲשֶׁ֣ר who ’ă·šer לֹא־ does not lō- יֶחֱטָ֔א sin — ye·ḥĕ·ṭā וְאָנַפְתָּ֣ and You become angry wə·’ā·nap̄·tā בָ֔ם with them ḇām וּנְתַתָּ֖ם and deliver them ū·nə·ṯat·tām לִפְנֵ֣י to lip̄·nê אוֹיֵ֑ב an enemy ’ō·w·yêḇ וְשָׁב֤וּם who takes them wə·šā·ḇūm שֹֽׁבֵיהֶם֙ as captives šō·ḇê·hem אֶל־ to ’el- הָאוֹיֵ֔ב his own hā·’ō·w·yêḇ אֶ֣רֶץ land , ’e·reṣ
