וּבְיִשְׁרַ֥ת and uprightness ū·ḇə·yiš·raṯ לֵבָ֖ב of heart lê·ḇāḇ עִמָּ֑ךְ . . . . ‘im·māḵ וַתִּשְׁמָר־ And You have maintained wat·tiš·mār- ל֗וֹ lōw אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַזֶּ֔ה this haz·zeh הַגָּדוֹל֙ - hag·gā·ḏō·wl הַחֶ֤סֶד loving devotion ha·ḥe·seḏ וַתִּתֶּן־ by giving wat·tit·ten- ל֥וֹ him lōw בֵ֛ן a son ḇên יֹשֵׁ֥ב to sit yō·šêḇ עַל־ on ‘al- כִּסְא֖וֹ his throne kis·’ōw הַזֶּֽה׃ this haz·zeh כַּיּ֥וֹם very day . kay·yō·wm 1 Kings 3:7 וְעַתָּה֙ And now , wə·‘at·tāh יְהוָ֣ה O YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהָ֔י my God , ’ĕ·lō·hāy אַתָּה֙ You ’at·tāh עַבְדְּךָ֔ {have made} Your servant ‘aḇ·də·ḵā הִמְלַ֣כְתָּ king him·laḵ·tā אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- אָבִ֑י in my father ’ā·ḇî דָּוִ֣ד David’s dā·wiḏ תַּ֖חַת place . ta·ḥaṯ וְאָֽנֹכִי֙ But I [am] wə·’ā·nō·ḵî קָטֹ֔ן only a little qā·ṭōn נַ֣עַר child , na·‘ar לֹ֥א not lō אֵדַ֖ע knowing [how] ’ê·ḏa‘ צֵ֥את to go out ṣêṯ וָבֹֽא׃ or come in . wā·ḇō 1 Kings 3:8 וְעַ֨בְדְּךָ֔ Your servant wə·‘aḇ·də·ḵā בְּת֥וֹךְ is here among bə·ṯō·wḵ עַמְּךָ֖ the people ‘am·mə·ḵā אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer בָּחָ֑רְתָּ You have chosen , bā·ḥā·rə·tā עַם־ a people ‘am- רָ֕ב . . . rāḇ אֲשֶׁ֧ר - ’ă·šer לֹֽא־ - lō- מֵרֹֽב׃ too numerous mê·rōḇ יִמָּנֶ֛ה to count yim·mā·neh וְלֹ֥א . . . wə·lō יִסָּפֵ֖ר or number . yis·sā·p̄êr 1 Kings 3:9 וְנָתַתָּ֨ Therefore give wə·nā·ṯa·tā לְעַבְדְּךָ֜ Your servant lə·‘aḇ·də·ḵā שֹׁמֵ֙עַ֙ an understanding šō·mê·a‘ לֵ֤ב heart lêḇ לִשְׁפֹּ֣ט to judge liš·pōṭ אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- עַמְּךָ֔ Your people ‘am·mə·ḵā לְהָבִ֖ין and to discern lə·hā·ḇîn בֵּֽין־ between bên- ט֣וֹב good ṭō·wḇ לְרָ֑ע and evil . lə·rā‘ כִּ֣י For kî מִ֤י who mî יוּכַל֙ is able yū·ḵal לִשְׁפֹּ֔ט to govern liš·pōṭ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַזֶּֽה׃ this haz·zeh הַכָּבֵ֖ד great hak·kā·ḇêḏ עַמְּךָ֥ people of Yours ? ” ‘am·mə·ḵā 1 Kings 3:10 הַדָּבָ֖ר Now it had·dā·ḇār וַיִּיטַ֥ב pleased way·yî·ṭaḇ בְּעֵינֵ֣י . . . bə·‘ê·nê אֲדֹנָ֑י the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy כִּ֚י that kî שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה Solomon šə·lō·mōh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַדָּבָ֖ר - had·dā·ḇār שָׁאַ֣ל had made this request šā·’al הַזֶּֽה׃ . . . . haz·zeh 1 Kings 3:11 אֱלֹהִ֜ים So God ’ĕ·lō·hîm וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֵלָ֗יו to him , ’ê·lāw יַעַן֩ “ Since ya·‘an אֲשֶׁ֨ר - ’ă·šer שָׁאַ֜לְתָּ you have asked for šā·’al·tā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַדָּבָ֣ר - had·dā·ḇār הַזֶּ֗ה this haz·zeh
