וַיֻּגַּ֖ד was told way·yug·gaḏ אֵ֧ת - ’êṯ אֲשֶׁר־ what ’ă·šer- שָׁאֽוּל׃ Saul’s šā·’ūl פִּלֶ֥גֶשׁ concubine pi·le·ḡeš רִצְפָּ֥ה Rizpah , riṣ·pāh בַת־ daughter ḇaṯ- אַיָּ֖ה of Aiah , ’ay·yāh עָשְׂתָ֛ה had done , ‘ā·śə·ṯāh 2 Samuel 21:12 דָּוִ֗ד he dā·wiḏ וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ went way·yê·leḵ וַיִּקַּ֞ח and took way·yiq·qaḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עַצְמ֤וֹת the bones ‘aṣ·mō·wṯ שָׁאוּל֙ of Saul šā·’ūl וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- עַצְמוֹת֙ - ‘aṣ·mō·wṯ בְּנ֔וֹ and his son bə·nōw יְהוֹנָתָ֣ן Jonathan yə·hō·w·nā·ṯān מֵאֵ֕ת from mê·’êṯ בַּעֲלֵ֖י the men ba·‘ă·lê יָבֵ֣ישׁ of Jabesh-gilead yā·ḇêš גִּלְעָ֑ד . . . , gil·‘āḏ אֲשֶׁר֩ [who] ’ă·šer גָּנְב֨וּ had stolen gā·nə·ḇū אֹתָ֜ם them ’ō·ṯām מֵרְחֹ֣ב from the public square mê·rə·ḥōḇ בֵּֽית־ of bêṯ- שַׁ֗ן Beth-shan šan אֲשֶׁ֨ר where ’ă·šer הַפְּלִשְׁתִּים the Philistines hap·pə·liš·tīm תָּלוּם had hung [the bodies] tå̄·lūm שָׁם . . . šå̄m בְּי֨וֹם after bə·yō·wm פְּלִשְׁתִּ֛ים [they] pə·liš·tîm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַכּ֧וֹת had struck down hak·kō·wṯ שָׁא֖וּל Saul šā·’ūl בַּגִּלְבֹּֽעַ׃ at Gilboa . bag·gil·bō·a‘ 2 Samuel 21:13 עַצְמ֣וֹת [So David had] the bones ‘aṣ·mō·wṯ שָׁא֔וּל of Saul šā·’ūl וְאֶת־ and wə·’eṯ- עַצְמ֖וֹת - ‘aṣ·mō·wṯ בְּנ֑וֹ his son bə·nōw יְהוֹנָתָ֣ן Jonathan yə·hō·w·nā·ṯān וַיַּ֤עַל brought way·ya·‘al מִשָּׁם֙ from there , miš·šām אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיַּ֣אַסְפ֔וּ [along with] way·ya·’as·p̄ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עַצְמ֖וֹת the bones ‘aṣ·mō·wṯ הַמּוּקָעִֽים׃ of those who had been hanged . ham·mū·qā·‘îm 2 Samuel 21:14 וַיִּקְבְּר֣וּ And they buried way·yiq·bə·rū אֶת־ ’eṯ- עַצְמוֹת־ the bones ‘aṣ·mō·wṯ- שָׁא֣וּל of Saul šā·’ūl בְּ֠נוֹ and his son bə·nōw וִיהוֹנָֽתָן־ Jonathan wî·hō·w·nā·ṯān- בְּצֵלָ֗ע in Zela bə·ṣê·lā‘ בְּאֶ֨רֶץ in the land bə·’e·reṣ בִּנְיָמִ֜ן of Benjamin , bin·yā·min בְּקֶ֙בֶר֙ in the tomb bə·qe·ḇer אָבִ֔יו of Saul’s father ’ā·ḇîw קִ֣ישׁ Kish . qîš אַֽחֲרֵי־ After ’a·ḥă·rê- כֵֽן׃פ - ḵên וַֽיַּעֲשׂ֔וּ they had done way·ya·‘ă·śū כֹּ֥ל everything kōl אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ צִוָּ֖ה had commanded , ṣiw·wāh אֱלֹהִ֛ים God ’ĕ·lō·hîm וַיֵּעָתֵ֧ר answered their prayers way·yê·‘ā·ṯêr לָאָ֖רֶץ for the land . lā·’ā·reṣ 2 Samuel 21:15 ע֧וֹד Once again ‘ō·wḏ וַתְּהִי־ . . . wat·tə·hî- לַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים the Philistines lap·pə·liš·tîm מִלְחָמָ֛ה waged war mil·ḥā·māh אֶת־ against ’eṯ- יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל Israel , yiś·rā·’êl דָּוִ֜ד and David dā·wiḏ וַעֲבָדָ֥יו and his servants wa·‘ă·ḇā·ḏāw עִמּ֛וֹ . . . ‘im·mōw וַיֵּ֨רֶד went down way·yê·reḏ וַיִּלָּחֲמ֥וּ and fought way·yil·lā·ḥă·mū אֶת־ against ’eṯ- פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים the Philistines ; pə·liš·tîm דָּוִֽד׃ but David dā·wiḏ
