בֶּן־ the son ben- שָׁא֑וּל of Saul , šā·’ūl עַל־ because of ‘al- שְׁבֻעַ֤ת the oath šə·ḇu·‘aṯ יְהוָה֙ before YHWH Yah·weh אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer בֵּֽינֹתָ֔ם between bê·nō·ṯām בֵּ֣ין . . . bên דָּוִ֔ד David dā·wiḏ וּבֵ֖ין and ū·ḇên יְהוֹנָתָ֥ן Jonathan yə·hō·w·nā·ṯān בֶּן־ son ben- שָׁאֽוּל׃ of Saul . šā·’ūl 2 Samuel 21:8 הַמֶּ֡לֶךְ But the king ham·me·leḵ אֶת־ - ’e·ṯōš- וַיִּקַּ֣ח took way·yiq·qaḥ אַרְמֹנִ֖י Armoni ’ar·mō·nî וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- מְפִבֹ֑שֶׁת and Mephibosheth , mə·p̄i·ḇō·šeṯ וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- שְׁ֠נֵי the two nê בְּנֵ֨י sons bə·nê אֲשֶׁ֣ר whom ’ă·šer רִצְפָּ֤ה Rizpah riṣ·pāh בַת־ daughter ḇaṯ- אַיָּה֙ of Aiah ’ay·yāh יָלְדָ֣ה had borne yā·lə·ḏāh לְשָׁא֔וּל to Saul , lə·šā·’ūl אֶת־ - ’eṯ- חֲמֵ֗שֶׁת as well as the five ḥă·mê·šeṯ בְּנֵי֙ sons bə·nê אֲשֶׁ֥ר whom ’ă·šer מִיכַ֣ל Merab mî·ḵal בַּת־ daughter baṯ- שָׁא֔וּל of Saul šā·’ūl יָלְדָ֛ה had borne yā·lə·ḏāh לְעַדְרִיאֵ֥ל to Adriel lə·‘aḏ·rî·’êl בֶּן־ son ben- בַּרְזִלַּ֖י of Barzillai bar·zil·lay הַמְּחֹלָתִֽי׃ the Meholathite . ham·mə·ḥō·lā·ṯî 2 Samuel 21:9 וַֽיִּתְּנֵ֞ם And he delivered them way·yit·tə·nêm בְּיַ֣ד into the hands bə·yaḏ הַגִּבְעֹנִ֗ים of the Gibeonites , hag·giḇ·‘ō·nîm וַיֹּקִיעֻ֤ם and they hanged them way·yō·qî·‘um בָּהָר֙ on the hill bā·hār לִפְנֵ֣י before lip̄·nê יְהוָ֔ה YHWH . Yah·weh שִׁבְעָתַיִם So all seven of them šiḇ·ʿå̄·ṯa·yim וַיִּפְּל֥וּ fell way·yip·pə·lū יָ֑חַד together ; yā·ḥaḏ וְהֵם they wə·hēm הֻמְת֜וּ were put to death hum·ṯū בָּרִ֣אשֹׁנִ֔ים in the first bā·ri·šō·nîm בִּימֵ֤י days bî·mê קָצִיר֙ of the harvest , qā·ṣîr תְּחִלַּת at the beginning tə·ḥil·laṯ שְׂעֹרִֽים׃ of the barley śə·‘ō·rîm קְצִ֥יר harvest . qə·ṣîr 2 Samuel 21:10 רִצְפָּה֩ And Rizpah riṣ·pāh בַת־ the daughter ḇaṯ- אַיָּ֨ה of Aiah ’ay·yāh אֶת־ ’eṯ- וַתִּקַּ֣ח took wat·tiq·qaḥ הַשַּׂ֜ק sackcloth haś·śaq וַתַּטֵּ֨הוּ and spread it out wat·taṭ·ṭê·hū לָ֤הּ for herself lāh אֶל־ on ’el- הַצּוּר֙ a rock . haṣ·ṣūr מִתְּחִלַּ֣ת From the beginning mit·tə·ḥil·laṯ קָצִ֔יר of the harvest qā·ṣîr עַ֛ד until ‘aḏ מַ֥יִם the rain ma·yim הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם from heaven haš·šā·mā·yim נִתַּךְ־ poured down nit·taḵ- עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם on the bodies , ‘ă·lê·hem מִן־ min- נָתְנָה֩ she did not allow nā·ṯə·nāh וְלֹֽא־ . . . wə·lō- ע֨וֹף the birds ‘ō·wp̄ הַשָּׁמַ֜יִם of the air haš·šā·ma·yim לָנ֤וּחַ to rest lā·nū·aḥ עֲלֵיהֶם֙ on them ‘ă·lê·hem יוֹמָ֔ם by day , yō·w·mām וְאֶת־ nor wə·’eṯ- חַיַּ֥ת the beasts ḥay·yaṯ הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה of the field haś·śā·ḏeh לָֽיְלָה׃ by night . lā·yə·lāh 2 Samuel 21:11 לְדָוִ֑ד When David lə·ḏā·wiḏ
