נָ֗א “ Please nā לְכִ֣י go lə·ḵî בֵּ֚ית to the house bêṯ אַמְנ֣וֹן of Amnon ’am·nō·wn אָחִ֔יךְ your brother ’ā·ḥîḵ וַעֲשִׂי־ and prepare wa·‘ă·śî- הַבִּרְיָֽה׃ a meal hab·bir·yāh ל֖וֹ for him . ” lōw 2 Samuel 13:8 תָּמָ֗ר So Tamar tā·mār וַתֵּ֣לֶךְ went wat·tê·leḵ בֵּ֛ית to the house bêṯ אָחִ֖יהָ of her brother ’ā·ḥî·hā אַמְנ֥וֹן Amnon , ’am·nō·wn וְה֣וּא [who] wə·hū שֹׁכֵ֑ב was lying down . šō·ḵêḇ וַתִּקַּ֨ח She took wat·tiq·qaḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַבָּצֵ֤ק some dough , hab·bā·ṣêq וַתָּלוֹשׁ kneaded [it] , wat·tå̄·lōš וַתְּלַבֵּ֣ב made cakes wat·tə·lab·bêḇ לְעֵינָ֔יו in his sight , lə·‘ê·nāw וַתְּבַשֵּׁ֖ל and baked wat·tə·ḇaš·šêl אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַלְּבִבֽוֹת׃ them . hal·lə·ḇi·ḇō·wṯ 2 Samuel 13:9 וַתִּקַּ֤ח Then she brought wat·tiq·qaḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַמַּשְׂרֵת֙ the pan ham·maś·rêṯ וַתִּצֹ֣ק and set it down wat·ti·ṣōq לְפָנָ֔יו before him , lə·p̄ā·nāw וַיְמָאֵ֖ן but he refused way·mā·’ên לֶאֱכ֑וֹל to eat . le·’ĕ·ḵō·wl כָל־ “ Send everyone ḵāl אִישׁ֙ . . . ’îš מֵֽעָלַ֔י . . . mê·‘ā·lay הוֹצִ֤יאוּ away ! ” hō·w·ṣî·’ū וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said way·yō·mer אַמְנ֗וֹן Amnon . ’am·nō·wn כָל־ And everyone ḵāl אִ֖ישׁ . . . ’îš מֵעָלָֽיו׃ . . . mê·‘ā·lāw וַיֵּצְא֥וּ went out . way·yê·ṣə·’ū 2 Samuel 13:10 אַמְנ֜וֹן Then Amnon ’am·nō·wn וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- תָּמָ֗ר Tamar , tā·mār הָבִ֤יאִי “ Bring hā·ḇî·’î הַבִּרְיָה֙ the food hab·bir·yāh הַחֶ֔דֶר into the bedroom , ha·ḥe·ḏer וְאֶבְרֶ֖ה so that I may eat it wə·’eḇ·reh מִיָּדֵ֑ךְ from your hand . ” mî·yā·ḏêḵ תָּמָ֗ר Tamar tā·mār אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַתִּקַּ֣ח took wat·tiq·qaḥ הַלְּבִבוֹת֙ the cakes hal·lə·ḇi·ḇō·wṯ אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer עָשָׂ֔תָה she had made ‘ā·śā·ṯāh וַתָּבֵ֛א and went wat·tā·ḇê אָחִ֖יהָ to her brother ’ā·ḥî·hā לְאַמְנ֥וֹן Amnon’s lə·’am·nō·wn הֶחָֽדְרָה׃ bedroom . he·ḥā·ḏə·rāh 2 Samuel 13:11 וַתַּגֵּ֥שׁ And when she had brought [them] wat·tag·gêš אֵלָ֖יו to him ’ê·lāw לֶֽאֱכֹ֑ל to eat , le·’ĕ·ḵōl וַיַּֽחֲזֶק־ he took hold way·ya·ḥă·zeq- בָּהּ֙ of her bāh וַיֹּ֣אמֶר and said way·yō·mer לָ֔הּ , lāh בּ֛וֹאִי “ Come bō·w·’î שִׁכְבִ֥י lie šiḵ·ḇî עִמִּ֖י with me , ‘im·mî אֲחוֹתִֽי׃ my sister ! ” ’ă·ḥō·w·ṯî 2 Samuel 13:12 אַל־ “ No , ’al- אָחִי֙ my brother ! ” ’ā·ḥî וַתֹּ֣אמֶר she cried wat·tō·mer ל֗וֹ . lōw אַל־ “ Do not ’al- תְּעַנֵּ֔נִי humiliate me , tə·‘an·nê·nî כִּ֛י for kî כֵ֖ן such ḵên לֹא־ a thing should never lō- יֵֽעָשֶׂ֥ה be done yê·‘ā·śeh בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל in Israel . bə·yiś·rā·’êl אַֽל־ Do not ’al- תַּעֲשֵׂ֖ה do ta·‘ă·śêh אֶת־ - ’eṯ-
