וַיְדַבְּר֤וּ they said way·ḏab·bə·rū אֵלֶ֙יהָ֙ - , ’ê·le·hā לֵאמֹ֔ר - lê·mōr דָּוִד֙ “ David dā·wiḏ שְׁלָחָ֣נוּ has sent us šə·lā·ḥā·nū אֵלַ֔יִךְ vvv ’ê·la·yiḵ לְקַחְתֵּ֥ךְ to take you lə·qaḥ·têḵ ל֖וֹ as his lōw לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ wife .” lə·’iš·šāh 1 Samuel 25:41 וַתָּ֕קָם She arose , wat·tā·qām וַתִּשְׁתַּ֥חוּ then bowed wat·tiš·ta·ḥū אַפַּ֖יִם facedown ’ap·pa·yim אָ֑רְצָה . . . ’ā·rə·ṣāh וַתֹּ֗אמֶר and said , wat·tō·mer הִנֵּ֤ה “ Here is hin·nêh אֲמָֽתְךָ֙ your maidservant , ’ă·mā·ṯə·ḵā לְשִׁפְחָ֔ה ready to serve lə·šip̄·ḥāh לִרְחֹ֕ץ and to wash lir·ḥōṣ רַגְלֵ֖י the feet raḡ·lê אֲדֹנִֽי׃ of my lord’s ’ă·ḏō·nî עַבְדֵ֥י servants .” ‘aḇ·ḏê 1 Samuel 25:42 אֲבִיגַ֗יִל So Abigail ’ă·ḇî·ḡa·yil וַתָּ֣קָם - wat·tā·qām וַתְּמַהֵ֞ר hurried wat·tə·ma·hêr וַתִּרְכַּב֙ and got on wat·tir·kaḇ עַֽל־ . . . ‘al- הַחֲמ֔וֹר a donkey , ha·ḥă·mō·wr הַהֹלְכ֖וֹת and attended ha·hō·lə·ḵō·wṯ וְחָמֵשׁ֙ [by] five wə·ḥā·mêš נַעֲרֹתֶ֔יהָ of her maidens na·‘ă·rō·ṯe·hā לְרַגְלָ֑הּ . . . , lə·raḡ·lāh וַתֵּ֗לֶךְ she followed wat·tê·leḵ אַֽחֲרֵי֙ . . . ’a·ḥă·rê דָוִ֔ד David’s ḏā·wiḏ מַלְאֲכֵ֣י messengers mal·’ă·ḵê וַתְּהִי־ and became wat·tə·hî- ל֖וֹ his lōw לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ wife . lə·’iš·šāh 1 Samuel 25:43 דָּוִ֖ד David dā·wiḏ וְאֶת־ had also wə·’eṯ- לָקַ֥ח married lā·qaḥ אֲחִינֹ֛עַם Ahinoam ’ă·ḥî·nō·‘am מִֽיִּזְרְעֶ֑אל of Jezreel . mî·yiz·rə·‘el שְׁתֵּיהֶ֥ן So [she and Abigail] were both šə·tê·hen וַתִּהְיֶ֛יןָ . . . wat·tih·ye·nā ל֖וֹ his lōw גַּֽם־ . . . gam- לְנָשִֽׁים׃ס wives . lə·nā·šîm 1 Samuel 25:44 וְשָׁא֗וּל But Saul wə·šā·’ūl נָתַ֛ן had given nā·ṯan אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בִּתּ֖וֹ his daughter bit·tōw מִיכַ֥ל Michal , mî·ḵal דָּוִ֑ד David’s dā·wiḏ אֵ֣שֶׁת wife , ’ê·šeṯ לְפַלְטִ֥י to Palti lə·p̄al·ṭî בֶן־ son ḇen- לַ֖יִשׁ of Laish , la·yiš אֲשֶׁ֥ר who [was] ’ă·šer מִגַּלִּֽים׃ from Gallim . mig·gal·lîm 1 Samuel 26:1 הַזִּפִים֙ Then the Ziphites haz·zi·p̄îm וַיָּבֹ֤אוּ came way·yā·ḇō·’ū אֶל־ to ’el- שָׁא֔וּל Saul šā·’ūl הַגִּבְעָ֖תָה at Gibeah hag·giḇ·‘ā·ṯāh לֵאמֹ֑ר and said , lê·mōr הֲל֨וֹא “ Is not hă·lō·w דָוִ֤ד David ḏā·wiḏ מִסְתַּתֵּר֙ hiding mis·tat·têr בְּגִבְעַ֣ת on the hill bə·ḡiḇ·‘aṯ הַחֲכִילָ֔ה of Hachilah , ha·ḥă·ḵî·lāh עַ֖ל opposite ‘al פְּנֵ֥י . . . pə·nê הַיְשִׁימֹֽן׃ Jeshimon ?” hay·šî·mōn 1 Samuel 26:2 וַיָּ֣קָם - way·yā·qām שָׁא֗וּל So Saul , šā·’ūl וְאִתּ֛וֹ accompanied by wə·’it·tōw שְׁלֹֽשֶׁת־ three šə·lō·šeṯ- אֲלָפִ֥ים thousand ’ă·lā·p̄îm בְּחוּרֵ֣י chosen bə·ḥū·rê אִ֖ישׁ men ’îš יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl
