וְשֵׁן־ . . . wə·šên- הַסֶּ֥לַע . . . has·se·la‘ מֵהָעֵ֖בֶר . . . mê·hā·‘ê·ḇer מִזֶּ֑ה . . . miz·zeh וּבֵ֣ין - ū·ḇên הַֽמַּעְבְּר֗וֹת of the pass ham·ma‘·bə·rō·wṯ אֲשֶׁ֨ר that ’ă·šer יֽוֹנָתָן֙ Jonathan yō·w·nā·ṯān בִּקֵּ֤שׁ intended biq·qêš לַֽעֲבֹר֙ to cross la·‘ă·ḇōr עַל־ to reach ‘al- פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים the Philistine pə·liš·tîm מַצַּ֣ב outpost . maṣ·ṣaḇ הָֽאֶחָד֙ One hā·’e·ḥāḏ וְשֵׁ֤ם was named wə·šêm בּוֹצֵ֔ץ Bozez bō·w·ṣêṣ וְשֵׁ֥ם . . . wə·šêm הָאֶחָ֖ד and the other hā·’e·ḥāḏ סֶֽנֶּה׃ Seneh . sen·neh 1 Samuel 14:5 הָאֶחָ֛ד One hā·’e·ḥāḏ הַשֵּׁ֧ן cliff haš·šên מָצ֥וּק stood mā·ṣūq מִצָּפ֖וֹן to the north miṣ·ṣā·p̄ō·wn מ֣וּל toward mūl מִכְמָ֑שׂ Michmash , miḵ·māś וְהָאֶחָ֥ד and the other wə·hā·’e·ḥāḏ מִנֶּ֖גֶב to the south min·ne·ḡeḇ מ֥וּל toward mūl גָּֽבַע׃ס Geba . gā·ḇa‘ 1 Samuel 14:6 יְהוֹנָתָ֜ן Jonathan yə·hō·w·nā·ṯān וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- הַנַּ֣עַר׀ the young man han·na·‘ar נֹשֵׂ֣א bearing nō·śê כֵלָ֗יו his armor , ḵê·lāw לְכָה֙ “ Come , lə·ḵāh וְנַעְבְּרָ֗ה let us cross over wə·na‘·bə·rāh אֶל־ to ’el- מַצַּב֙ the outpost maṣ·ṣaḇ הָאֵ֔לֶּה of these hā·’êl·leh הָעֲרֵלִ֣ים uncircumcised men . hā·‘ă·rê·lîm אוּלַ֛י Perhaps ’ū·lay יְהוָ֖ה YHWH Yah·weh יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה will work ya·‘ă·śeh לָ֑נוּ on our lā·nū כִּ֣י behalf . kî אֵ֤ין Nothing ’ên מַעְצ֔וֹר can hinder ma‘·ṣō·wr לַֽיהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh לְהוֹשִׁ֥יעַ from saving , lə·hō·wō·šî·a‘ בְּרַ֖ב whether by many bə·raḇ א֥וֹ or ’ōw בִמְעָֽט׃ by few .” ḇim·‘āṭ 1 Samuel 14:7 נֹשֵׂ֣א His armor-bearer nō·śê כֵלָ֔יו . . . ḵê·lāw וַיֹּ֤אמֶר replied way·yō·mer לוֹ֙ , lōw עֲשֵׂ֖ה “ Do ‘ă·śêh כָּל־ all kāl- אֲשֶׁ֣ר that is ’ă·šer בִּלְבָבֶ֑ךָ in your heart . bil·ḇā·ḇe·ḵā נְטֵ֣ה Go ahead ; nə·ṭêh לָ֔ךְ lāḵ הִנְנִ֥י I am hin·nî עִמְּךָ֖ with you ‘im·mə·ḵā כִּלְבָבֶֽךָ׃ס heart and soul .” kil·ḇā·ḇe·ḵā 1 Samuel 14:8 הִנֵּ֛ה “ Very well , ” hin·nêh וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ said way·yō·mer יְה֣וֹנָתָ֔ן Jonathan , yə·hō·w·nā·ṯān אֲנַ֥חְנוּ “ we will ’ă·naḥ·nū עֹבְרִ֖ים cross over ‘ō·ḇə·rîm אֶל־ toward ’el- הָאֲנָשִׁ֑ים [these] men hā·’ă·nā·šîm וְנִגְלִ֖ינוּ and show ourselves wə·niḡ·lî·nū אֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ to them . ’ă·lê·hem 1 Samuel 14:9 אִם־ If ’im- כֹּ֤ה . . . kōh יֹֽאמְרוּ֙ they say yō·mə·rū אֵלֵ֔ינוּ , ’ê·lê·nū דֹּ֕מּוּ ‘ Wait dōm·mū עַד־ until ‘aḏ- הַגִּיעֵ֖נוּ we come hag·gî·‘ê·nū אֲלֵיכֶ֑ם to you , ’ ’ă·lê·ḵem וְעָמַ֣דְנוּ then we will stay wə·‘ā·maḏ·nū תַחְתֵּ֔ינוּ where we are ṯaḥ·tê·nū
