כְּכָל־ whatever kə·ḵāl- הַטּ֖וֹב seems good haṭ·ṭō·wḇ בְּעֵינֵיכֶֽם׃ס to you .” bə·‘ê·nê·ḵem 1 Samuel 11:11 וַיְהִ֣י - way·hî מִֽמָּחֳרָ֗ת The next day mim·mā·ḥo·rāṯ שָׁא֣וּל Saul šā·’ūl אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיָּ֨שֶׂם organized way·yā·śem הָעָם֮ the troops hā·‘ām שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה into three šə·lō·šāh רָאשִׁים֒ divisions , rā·šîm הַבֹּ֔קֶר and during the morning hab·bō·qer בְּאַשְׁמֹ֣רֶת watch bə·’aš·mō·reṯ וַיָּבֹ֤אוּ they invaded way·yā·ḇō·’ū בְתוֹךְ־ . . . ḇə·ṯō·wḵ- הַֽמַּחֲנֶה֙ the camp ham·ma·ḥă·neh עַמּ֖וֹן of the Ammonites ‘am·mō·wn וַיַּכּ֥וּ and slaughtered them , way·yak·kū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עַד־ until ‘aḏ- חֹ֣ם the hottest part ḥōm הַיּ֑וֹם of the day . hay·yō·wm וַיְהִ֤י And way·hî הַנִּשְׁאָרִים֙ the survivors han·niš·’ā·rîm וַיָּפֻ֔צוּ were so scattered way·yā·p̄u·ṣū וְלֹ֥א that no wə·lō שְׁנַ֥יִם two šə·na·yim בָ֖ם of them ḇām נִשְׁאֲרוּ־ were left niš·’ă·rū- יָֽחַד׃ together . yā·ḥaḏ 1 Samuel 11:12 הָעָם֙ Then the people hā·‘ām וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל Samuel , šə·mū·’êl מִ֣י “ Who mî הָאֹמֵ֔ר said hā·’ō·mêr שָׁא֖וּל that Saul šā·’ūl יִמְלֹ֣ךְ should not reign yim·lōḵ עָלֵ֑ינוּ over us ? ‘ā·lê·nū תְּנ֥וּ Bring tə·nū הָאֲנָשִׁ֖ים those men here hā·’ă·nā·šîm וּנְמִיתֵֽם׃ so we can kill them !” ū·nə·mî·ṯêm 1 Samuel 11:13 שָׁא֔וּל But Saul šā·’ūl וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ordered , way·yō·mer לֹֽא־ “ No lō- אִ֖ישׁ one ’îš יוּמַ֥ת shall be put to death yū·maṯ הַזֶּ֑ה this haz·zeh בַּיּ֣וֹם day , bay·yō·wm כִּ֥י for kî הַיּ֛וֹם today hay·yō·wm יְהוָ֥ה YHWH Yah·weh עָשָֽׂה־ has worked ‘ā·śāh- תְּשׁוּעָ֖ה salvation tə·šū·‘āh בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ס in Israel .” bə·yiś·rā·’êl 1 Samuel 11:14 שְׁמוּאֵל֙ Then Samuel šə·mū·’êl וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- הָעָ֔ם the people , hā·‘ām לְכ֖וּ “ Come , lə·ḵū וְנֵלְכָ֣ה let us go wə·nê·lə·ḵāh הַגִּלְגָּ֑ל to Gilgal hag·gil·gāl וּנְחַדֵּ֥שׁ and renew ū·nə·ḥad·dêš הַמְּלוּכָֽה׃ the kingship ham·mə·lū·ḵāh שָׁ֖ם there .” šām 1 Samuel 11:15 כָל־ So all ḵāl הָעָ֜ם the people hā·‘ām וַיֵּלְכ֨וּ went way·yê·lə·ḵū הַגִּלְגָּ֗ל to Gilgal hag·gil·gāl שָׁ֨ם [and] šām אֶת־ - ’eṯ- שָׁא֜וּל confirmed Saul šā·’ūl וַיַּמְלִכוּ֩ as king way·yam·li·ḵū לִפְנֵ֤י in the presence of lip̄·nê יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh בַּגִּלְגָּ֔ל . . . . bag·gil·gāl שָׁ֛ם There šām וַיִּזְבְּחוּ־ they sacrificed way·yiz·bə·ḥū- שְׁלָמִ֖ים peace offerings šə·lā·mîm זְבָחִ֥ים - zə·ḇā·ḥîm לִפְנֵ֣י before lip̄·nê יְהוָ֑ה YHWH , Yah·weh שָׁא֛וּל and Saul šā·’ūl וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl אַנְשֵׁ֥י vvv ’an·šê
