אֶת־ - ’eṯ- דִּבְרֵ֖י the words of diḇ·rê אַנְשֵׁ֥י the men ’an·šê יָבֵֽישׁ׃ from Jabesh . yā·ḇêš 1 Samuel 11:6 בְּשָׁמְעוֹ When Saul heard bə·šå̄·mə·ʿō אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאֵ֑לֶּה their hā·’êl·leh הַדְּבָרִ֣ים words , had·də·ḇā·rîm רֽוּחַ־ the Spirit rū·aḥ- אֱלֹהִים֙ of God ’ĕ·lō·hîm וַתִּצְלַ֤ח rushed wat·tiṣ·laḥ עַל־ upon ‘al- שָׁא֔וּל him , šā·’ūl אַפּ֖וֹ and he burned with great anger ’ap·pōw וַיִּ֥חַר . . . way·yi·ḥar מְאֹֽד׃ . . . . mə·’ōḏ 1 Samuel 11:7 וַיִּקַּח֩ He took way·yiq·qaḥ צֶ֨מֶד a pair ṣe·meḏ בָּקָ֜ר of oxen , bā·qār וַֽיְנַתְּחֵ֗הוּ cut them into pieces , way·nat·tə·ḥê·hū וַיְשַׁלַּ֞ח and sent [them] way·šal·laḥ בְּיַ֣ד by bə·yaḏ הַמַּלְאָכִ֣ים׀ messengers ham·mal·’ā·ḵîm בְּכָל־ throughout bə·ḵāl גְּב֣וּל the land gə·ḇūl יִשְׂרָאֵל֮ of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl לֵאמֹר֒ proclaiming , lê·mōr כֹּ֥ה “ This is what kōh יֵעָשֶׂ֖ה will be done yê·‘ā·śeh לִבְקָר֑וֹ to the oxen liḇ·qā·rōw אֲשֶׁר֩ of anyone who ’ă·šer אֵינֶ֨נּוּ does not ’ê·nen·nū יֹצֵ֜א march yō·ṣê אַחֲרֵ֤י behind ’a·ḥă·rê שָׁאוּל֙ Saul šā·’ūl וְאַחַ֣ר . . . wə·’a·ḥar שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל and Samuel .” šə·mū·’êl פַּֽחַד־ Then the terror pa·ḥaḏ- יְהוָה֙ of YHWH Yah·weh וַיִּפֹּ֤ל fell way·yip·pōl עַל־ upon ‘al- הָעָ֔ם the people , hā·‘ām וַיֵּצְא֖וּ and they turned out way·yê·ṣə·’ū אֶחָֽד׃ as one ’e·ḥāḏ כְּאִ֥ישׁ man . kə·’îš 1 Samuel 11:8 וַֽיִּפְקְדֵ֖ם And when [Saul] numbered them way·yip̄·qə·ḏêm בְּבָ֑זֶק at Bezek , bə·ḇā·zeq וַיִּהְי֤וּ there were way·yih·yū שְׁלֹ֣שׁ 300,000 {} šə·lōš מֵא֣וֹת . . . mê·’ō·wṯ אֶ֔לֶף . . . ’e·lep̄ בְנֵֽי־ Israelites ḇə·nê- יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ . . . yiś·rā·’êl שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים and 30,000 šə·lō·šîm אָֽלֶף׃ . . . ’ā·lep̄ וְאִ֥ישׁ men wə·’îš יְהוּדָ֖ה of Judah . yə·hū·ḏāh 1 Samuel 11:9 וַיֹּאמְר֞וּ So they said way·yō·mə·rū לַמַּלְאָכִ֣ים to the messengers lam·mal·’ā·ḵîm הַבָּאִ֗ים who had come , hab·bā·’îm תֹֽאמְרוּן֙ “ Tell ṯō·mə·rūn כֹּ֤ה - kōh לְאִישׁ֙ the men lə·’îš יָבֵ֣ישׁ of Jabesh-gilead : yā·ḇêš גִּלְעָ֔ד . . . gil·‘āḏ תְּשׁוּעָ֖ה ‘ Deliverance tə·šū·‘āh תִּהְיֶֽה־ will be tih·yeh- לָכֶ֥ם yours lā·ḵem מָחָ֛ר tomorrow mā·ḥār הַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁ by the time the sun haš·šā·meš וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ . . . way·yā·ḇō·’ū בְּחֹם is hot . ’” bə·ḥōm הַמַּלְאָכִ֗ים And when the messengers ham·mal·’ā·ḵîm וַיַּגִּ֛ידוּ relayed [this] way·yag·gî·ḏū לְאַנְשֵׁ֥י to the men lə·’an·šê יָבֵ֖ישׁ of Jabesh , yā·ḇêš וַיִּשְׂמָֽחוּ׃ they rejoiced . way·yiś·mā·ḥū 1 Samuel 11:10 אַנְשֵׁ֣י Then the men ’an·šê יָבֵ֔ישׁ of Jabesh yā·ḇêš וַֽיֹּאמְרוּ֙ said [to Nahash] , way·yō·mə·rū מָחָ֖ר “ Tomorrow mā·ḥār נֵצֵ֣א we will come out , nê·ṣê אֲלֵיכֶ֑ם . . . ’ă·lê·ḵem וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֣ם and you can do wa·‘ă·śî·ṯem לָּ֔נוּ with us lā·nū
